Clearly it's Cladio's deep inner being feeling like he never truly grew up. I don't think the albums really explain what the comics do. I've read all the comics beginning to end and listened to the albums beginning to end and that's what I've always gotten from it.

I believe this part is Claudio Sanchez (or the Writer?) speaking about Claudio Kilgannon, at this part of the story Claudio was still just a baby boy. This possibly alludes to the future in IKSSE: 3 when Ambellina comes down to guide and protect Claudio through the Amory Wars. "Wait for me alright, I'm still a boy down there" I could be completely wrong but this is what I take from it.
@StreektlyMedeeseenal actually the good morning part Claudio writing a letter to newo, telling her he's going to kill him self (it was changed to leaving to escape off planet in the comics), the rest cut in between Jesse and Claudio.
So for all you fuckers who think this band is some emo boy anal sensation fuck you and your mom just give it some time. I hated it at first too cuz i was a narrow minded conceded frat boy. Then i was like dayum iksse3 gets me pumped up, then i was like damn so does delirium trigger, then i was like wait all this shit is boss. give it a damn chance
@zulok1337 modern "screamo" and "emo," as branded by the hot topic generation, is nothing of what it actually is. both were fairly underground genres that strived in the early and mid nineties. for examples of true screamo, i'd recommend City of Caterpillar, Portraits of Past, Saetia, Pg 99, and Orchid which are more focused on introspective lyricism and musical experimentation than screaming about who dumped who and feminine haircuts. For emo, I'd say Texas is the Reason and The Get Up Kids.
i'm adoring the people here who know what they're talking about. i love seeing educated, intelligent people talk about music =) especially when it's an under-appreciated band like Coheed, it pisses me off so badly when people shit on them cause of his voice (which, btw, is heavenly) or cause they don't understand the story. Or just say something stupid like, "U GUYZ THIS IZ SO EMO I HATE IT". I'm really glad there are smart people out there who appreciate the genius that is Claudio Sanchez.
@Daniel3345 Coheed has a lot to do with emo as far as influences. Not the wide spread goth/pop-punk hybrid of today, but the 90's hardcore and punk scene(Which would later form into the shit you refer to) known for it's intricate instrumental bridges and profound/poetic/abstract lyrics. I hear tinges of Drive Like Jehu, Texas Is The Reason, early Hot Water Music, and Indian Summer(Not the british band) in their music. I agree they're not emo, but the influence shows on their sleeves.
I've always loved how coheed and cambria's songs tend to have acts (the beginning is different from the middle which is different from the end) but they all meld together musically. One of only two bands I've ever found that I like every song of (for the first 2 CD's of C&C) - the other being Matthew Good Band.
WOW Thomasoring, the Amory wars are from personal experience just watch one of the coheed DVD's all that matters is coheed is the best through and through.
@jasonlives1028 Porcupine Tree is probably the closest, but that doesn't mean they're really at all similar. They toured together over the summer. Both are great bands.
The proggression of this band is as good as any. 2ndstage is an amazing straight forward album. Iksos is an amazing prog album as well as Good Apollo, these guys are shit on heavily or overlooked completely when they are better than half the shit most ppl listen to now a days. One of the best bands ever. BTW I listen to all classic rock and Tool, so I'm not an emo fucker...and neither is coheed...coheed is one of the best rock bands of all time.
They arnt rock but they are amazing. Especially when you know what they are about and read the comics that go along with them. The real meaning of this song is so sad. ='(

HAHA! I not only completely love this song, but also this album, and most of all, this band. Coheed and Cambria is my favorite band. And this is one of my favorite albums by them. But... no matter how much i love this song, i love the acoustic version a million times more! Which is saying something, because this is one of my favorite songs.
I love the end. Also that musical bit at the end is epic <3 only part I don't like is when they are doing that talking part in the middle. Kinda lame.
at 2:27 someone is saying something quietly I think they're saying "I dont believe a time was included in the contract. It's in the contract of time. A rush of this time without the frequency (something) Supervisor (something)" Anyone know what it says or means?
This song isn't about Cambria killing herself. The beginning is about the note Claudio leaves Newo. It reads: "Good morning Sunshine. I know this is hard, but this has nothing to do with you, Junesong. I can't be a part of anyone's world anymore. When you get this, I'll be dead. I hope you can forgive me, Newo. I love you -- Grover." Also in the book, when Coheed and Cambria attempt to take back over the ship, Admiral Crom appears on the ship to fight them, and Coheed says: "Gloria to nowhere."
@FallenXxRaven Haha wow, I got sidetracked then clicked post without realizing I was halfway done. The rest of my comment - ...songs, and I've listened to mroe than my fair share of music.
There are only 4 albums I've heard where every song has, at one point, been my favorite song. Two of those albums are Second Stage Turbine Blade and In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3. Coheed and Cambria is an amazing band, I can't wait to see them in concert.
@Wilyum89 well i must have a phenomenal friend i was a tad skeptic at first wont lie just cause thats how i am but he played it enough to where i was like hey i like this ! zomg. haha.

This comment has received too many negative votesshow
so...im a tad...confused....by the lyrics xDDD
"Wait for me alright?I'm still a boy down there."....is that....does he mean hes stilla boy DOWN there(like, hes got a small package?) or something entirely different :O?
exactly he's such an awesome all around musician gutar vocals and the intros on all the albums he does em too plus write a story that goes with the music awesome
I would always be up later at night than my ex-girlfriend so I would send her goodmorning messages for when she woke up and they always said "Goodmorning sunshine" haha. I don't think she had any clue where it was from...she wasn't really a Coheed fan.
Well I didn't call her sunshine just ebcause of this song but it added to the specialness for me. No one's ever called me sunshine but I imagine it does feel nice.
Haha yeah man girls dig that kind of stuff. She liked them becuase it showed I was thinking about her and it was special for me because I love this song so it was awesome. But alas we are no longer together, but my next girlfriend can expect goodmorning messages because I'm a hopeless romantic haha.
coheed and cambria has to be the most talented and original bands in recent years to basically say fuck what's going on in the world, create their own and write songs based on that is absolute genius!!!! I can't wait for a movie it's the perfect set up!!!!!
the accostic version is better. so im guessing this about coheed or whom ever talking about newo ikkin and seeing is his dog applo is being good ? sorta gave up on listening to coheed and brushing up on the story after good apllo im burning star.
ya thats what i got out of it too. she is a dynamic char tho cuz she is trying to carry out god's will on the keywork. This song is about him leaving newo tho so that he can save her and himself from whatever is after him
erica is both Newo Ikkin and Ambelinna ...which I think I just misspelled. the writer models the both after Erica, Newo as the bad side && Ambelinna as the good.

masinator1337 2 years ago 5
I asked mine too! Haha she didn't seem to care. I call her it every once in a while.
ZCrackin111 1 year ago
I would always be up later at night than my ex-girlfriend so I would send her goodmorning messages for when she woke up and they always said "Goodmorning sunshine" haha. I don't think she had any clue where it was from...she wasn't really a Coheed fan.
fullmetalfunk 1 year ago
We call each other sunshine naturally. She started it, although she doesn't see it as I do. It's still nice to be called sunshine.
xcharybdis 1 year ago
Well I didn't call her sunshine just ebcause of this song but it added to the specialness for me. No one's ever called me sunshine but I imagine it does feel nice.
fullmetalfunk 1 year ago
dude thats actually a pretty cool idea, thanks. Just gotta get her to start listening to this stuff enough to understand it :)
owningtheworld 1 year ago
Haha you mean the goodmorning messages?
fullmetalfunk 1 year ago
@fullmetalfunk hells ya
owningtheworld 1 year ago
Haha yeah man girls dig that kind of stuff. She liked them becuase it showed I was thinking about her and it was special for me because I love this song so it was awesome. But alas we are no longer together, but my next girlfriend can expect goodmorning messages because I'm a hopeless romantic haha.

i hope everybody knows they got comic books right
sensesfear 2 years ago
if they dont they better stop claiming that Coheed is their favorite band.
NewoIkkin93 2 years ago
coheed and cambria has to be the most talented and original bands in recent years to basically say fuck what's going on in the world, create their own and write songs based on that is absolute genius!!!! I can't wait for a movie it's the perfect set up!!!!!
spazowneruno 2 years ago
It would have to be a porno though because their music is just pure earsex.

NewoIkkin93 2 years ago
I would be so fucking pissed. a movie would be good but it would turn Coheed into a fad && then I would beat the hell out of people

well ikken newo is claudios girlfriend but apollo is the writing writers dog. trust me, just get the comics.
RyoSanadaOfWildfire 2 years ago
actuaaaaaally lol
Apollo is newo ikkin and the writers dog, he exist in both wolds in the writers and in heavens fence
aaronXroX 2 years ago
no, newo ikkin is erica, the writer's ex-gf and the dog is apollo
Yo11211 2 years ago
isnt that what i said
(besides newo being erica thats sorta of an obvious to anyone who knows the story)
maybe u thought i said apollo is newo ikkin?lol
i meant Apollo is newos dog and also the writers dog
aaronXroX 2 years ago
as i understood it, Ambellina is also a representation of what could have been between his and newo (erica)....let me know if anyone got that..
xjimmyellx 2 years ago
yeah i never thought of that, but it does seem like that ..
aaronXroX 2 years ago
ya thats what i got out of it too. she is a dynamic char tho cuz she is trying to carry out god's will on the keywork. This song is about him leaving newo tho so that he can save her and himself from whatever is after him
cswilsonable 2 years ago
erica is both Newo Ikkin and Ambelinna ...which I think I just misspelled. the writer models the both after Erica, Newo as the bad side && Ambelinna as the good.
NewoIkkin93 2 years ago
It's Newo Ikkin, not Ikken Newo.
Ph34rMe 2 years ago 4
did you really just say "ikken newo"??? && they say trust me about anything Coheed??
