  • perfect, why didn't they do music like this after frogstomp and freak show? shit man :/

  • fucking audiance !

  • the reasen why this album is still so goodd is that we know that this is it no more, that are good anyway :P

  • Comment removed

  • Grunge

  • Another thing I don't understand is how people can expect a band to just keep playing the same basic stuff for 15-20 years?! They were between 14-15 when they wrote most of the songs on Frogstomp. Why would they want to play the same shit over and over for that long? Sure I wouldn't mind a nice throw back kind of song here and there but I don't want to hear the same album over and over just with a new title and new lyrics. They're Silverchair not Creed. Besides Diorama is amazingly brilliant!!

  • Freaking awesome!

  • this song has everything, how the hell 4 people dislike this song?

  • Man Daniel was great back then. I miss the early days of the chair so bad.

  • Did any of you hear that shit they were gonna put out on another album? it was just garbage. it would've been the album after young modern. Why do bands do that? they get successful selling one style of music, and then their egos grow and they decide to get artsy...give the people, your fans, something to love...their hard earned dollars went to your CDs and concerts which allowed you to buy your mansion. At least throw em a bone.

  • man... i'm sorry im in love with early silverchair but... why did they skip out on so many of the lyrics in this great song? Shame..

  • @Garkar2006 wat u mean ?that there few lyrics or what?this song is so original

  • love you again

  • ye boi

  • big daniel jhons

  • very good song,very good

  • HOW THE FUCK CAN 4 GREASY CUNTS DISLIKE THIS

  • esse show marcou a geração anos 90 mt foda o melhor show do silverchair

  • man, that breakdown at the end of the song is killer. Everytime I watch this video on youtube I freak out and throw stuff and kick sh*t in my room during that part..it's great.

  • Magical.

  • ben gillies is such a great drummer

  • 2:14

  • Daniel Johns has one of those voices that make you say wtf was that live? Just like his grunge buddies Layne, Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder

  • why why why did they have to change they were the shit they rocked harder then any one else and then they changed

  • @rastaamon420 totally agree. i could never listen to sc again after dan was back from anorexic land.

  • so fuxkin wise words!!!

i`m so adore with da words!!!

this is my #1 song from this band!!!

After your life, I leave, I'm dead,

Leading me off through the night,

If he's born again, I need you to find,

Need you to find, where he is.

  • so fuxkin wise words!!! i`m so adore with da words!!! this is my #1 song from this band!!! Doesn't know what to do, When everything just falls to the ground, ohh, He runs to find some cover, He doesn't have a clue, Thinking of the past, After your life, I leave, I'm dead, Leading me off through the night, If he's born again, I need you to find, Need you to find, where he is.
  • @karnotolee1 those are some awesome lyrics 3:45 makes me wanna break something

  • damn Daniel Johns is definitely one of the most underrated singers ever.. His voice is just fuckin' amazing !!

  • @canorjohn i know right?? jesus f n christ THEY FUCKIN GIVE YOU CHILLS AND MAKE YOU WANNA BREAK SOMETHING and really isnt that what the best rock is supposed to do its a fuckin release of emotions and wow they do that big time

  • look at that fucking hair

  • i love you silverchair

  • I want silverchair to return 90's

  • How do they make music this epic!!!???

  • This is my fav Silverchair song...back when music was awesome

  • It is such an AWSOME song. I wish I would be in 90s. When the grunge was everything!.

  • "..it's all over noooow.. mother nature striked once agaiiiin" <- godlike

  • lol

    sadajkshdksadhsa

  • lol

  • lol

  • o grunge morreu depois do young do silverchair

  • need this album.

  • wow so fuckin great

  • Such a powerful song...

    Que cancion mas poderosa.

  • the bass player is very thick... thick arms, thick neck. thick cheeks, thats what I keep thicking.....

  • 4 people fell down the crack

  • I like this band, but they're nothing like the ORIGINAL seattle grunge bands and their underground contempories (Mudhoney, Melvins, Nirvana, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and Smashing Pumpkins) and not the corny take-offs, who were just fifth-rate Pearl Jam's (Everclear, Bush, Creed, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback etc.). Silverchair is the only grunge knock-off band I actually like.

  • @Person1036 Maybe it's not so much they they were knock-off's as they were 14 and impressionable since they were 14 when they made this album. Like, as a parent, if you heard your kids with this music, would you tell them not to play it because it sounds like some other band?

  • @ajrembert

all art is imitation of something else, whether it be feelings, other art or nature silverchair were unto their own, or else they would have been sued for copyright,

  • @sluterry I'm not complaining, I played this tape until it warped then took apart the tape, cut out the sections that didn't work and taped it back together with scotch tape. I was replying to @Person1036 who suggested Silverchair wasn't somehow original.

  • @Person1036 You talk about "original" grunge bands and don't mention Green River or Mother Love Bone? You don't know what the fuck you're talking about and should shut your mouth. Sorry to sound all hipster on people; but if you're going to complain about bands borrowing form eachother, don't site bands that were borrowing in the first place!

  • @Joegreen29 I do know green river and mother love bone, actually. I didn't mention them though, because they suck (ok, Green River is alright, but they're hardly grunge, just a slightly sludgy version of punk). Mother Love Bone and Green River is normally used by "grunge" fans to sound like they are proper fans of grunge, when those bands didn't even sound vaguely similar to grunge. Plus, absoultely none of the bands, NONE, i mentioned were influenced by Green River or Mother Love Bone

  • @Person1036 That's pretty funny. Since members of Pearl Jam were IN Mother Love Bone. And Any one of those bands will tell you Green River was the inspiration for the whole scene. Nice attempt though.

  • @Joegreen29 Firtsly, Pearl Jam isn't grunge (contrary to popular believe). They are classic/arena rock revival. I'm not saying there are a bad band. What I am saying though is, they are certainly not grunge. And if you could give me some examples of grunge bands being influenced by green river, I will be happy. And Green River was not the "inspiration" for the whole grunge scene. What ever happened to Killdozer, Melvins, Flipper, Black Flag, Black Sabbath, Big Black, Redd Kross?

  • @Joegreen29 And grunge didn't just appear. Grunge (by Grunge, I mean, a music scene in Seattle with heavily distorted, sludgy guitar rock) started with Melvins, who blended Black Flag with Black Sabbath and the local punk scene. I mean what do you think grunge is? I'm looking at the biggest grunge groups and neither Nirvana, Jesus Lizard, AIC, Babes in Toyland, Melvins, Mudhoney or Soundgarden have stated Green River as an influence (according to allmusic.com)

  • @Person1036 not everything that you read on the internet is truth dude.. infact most of it is total bullshit. and just out of curiosity you are aware that green river was mark arms band before mudhoney right? and yes they were one of the first bands in that influenced the "grunge" wave. by the way grunge isn't even a real thing.. it was a term coined by the media.

  • @Joegreen29 truest comment here

  • i wish Grunge would come back.. : (

  • Amazing Trio - young great musicians!

  • Excelente tema , 10 estrellas.

  • 4 illegal dislikes

  • hell yea dude tha fuckin rock

  • Its insane how a guy so young wrote such an intricate song about the Newcastle earthquake. Crazy stuff, kids these days are nothing on the youth of this generation.

  • wanna be nirvana

  • @wwenba360 douche

  • @wwenba360

Nirvana had nothing on these kids. Nirvana is trash.

  • @danishmaggot ur trash wimp

  • agreed

    ^^^^^^^^

  • That outro was phenomenal.

  • I don't think I hear much grundge anymore, unless I just can't recognize it. Now all I hear is Pop, Screamo, Hip Hop and R'n'B and I miss this stuff, and this was one of the best Aussie rock bands! (YAY I'M AUSTRALIAN!)

  • sick.

  • Nothing better than seeing Zack Morris in his Bayside jacket rocking to Silverchair

  • @Ensiferum123 lmfao

  • daniels guitar tone is perfect in every album and live recording

  • I would be rolling some skulls if I was at this show! This crowd sucks!

  • the drummer is just amazing

  • @livredesd i met the drummer :) he was in my town for a week

  • @10cst3r ohh!!!

  • Gotta love the Chair!

  • God I miss the 90's. Nowdays we get puney excuses for bands like The All American Rejects, Jonas Brothers and Fallout Boy? Can someone please tell me what happened to grunge? What happened to my Silverchair?

  • @Hyetthramine what happened to the music???

  • how good is his fucking voice please, hes only 16 or summink

  • @hoodwinkhiphop 14 if pre-frog stomp.. 15 if during frog stomp

  • Please make grunge movement grew bigger.

  • the grunge need to return....

  • @livredesd That's why my band Is starting something grunge. cheers!

  • Comment removed

  • @livredesd it sure does. johns has turned into a circus sideshow (full of himself) and the only one watching is him. dio and ym are good albums, but time for the heavy stuff again. with soundgarden and supposedly alice in chains coming out with new music in 2012, the chair would be wise to get on that train.

  • @livredesd a new era of fucking grunge would be awesome!

  • simply a beast daniel , one of the greatest guitarrists\vocal

  • @690169... Agreed :)

  • Yeah I have to admit as well the old stuff is amazing. I like what they did on diorama cause johns has an awesome voice but I feel the ratio of progression and roots is lost who is with me !!!! thumbs up. Seriously its ok to go in a new direction but to completely forget to look back to an old style at least 5 or 6 songs on a cd is preposterous.

  • @DoomSiren yeh... im the same. i dont mind a band changing, but you dont have to change genres. if theyd at least kept it rock... still used guitars etc. i just think dans voice complents rock so well. i can appreciate theyre over frogstomp, freakshow etc because of how young they were when they did them but i dont understand why theyve gone the pop direction. if johns wanted to do that you know i wouldnt care if he did a side project for it but silverchair should be rock n roll...

  • yo tamb ien extraño lo viejo lo power de esta grandisima banda.. igual aguante silver

  • So called "fans" that think the real Silverchair is dead and that they're shit nowadays need a fuckin head-check...

  • @onasunday

Well their not NEARLY as good as back in the day....they sound like fricken Coldplay

  • @690169 Seriously ? Coldplay ? Duuude...... not ok

  • @onasunday

Sorry man every song I hear from Silverchair sounds like emo bull shit....FUCKING 30 Seconds to mars or Coldplay SHIT....I just really like old Silverchair ALOT MORE but....that's just me

  • @690169 Hahahaha...sorry but that's just so funny !

A lot of testosterone and hormons in the air tonight ?

But you still like them yet ? Even if they sound like FUCKING emo bullshit and SHIT ? Doesn't make any sense what you're writing. I'm confused....

  • @onasunday

Maybe I'm not clear enough....Their OLD stuff is simply AMAZING...their NEW stuff is SHIT flat out SHIT...EMO SHITTY SHIT SHIT.....come on man you have to admit silverchairs OLD STUFF is SO much better I mean there's no comparison....just like Metalica....their older stuff is so much better than their new stuff....right?

  • @690169 amazing rant there mate, well done !

personally, I love the way they explore new ground... would have been really boring if every record sounded like frogstomp or freak...

  • @onasunday

You're right to a certain degree but....the new stuff for me anyway....is unlistenable I would have liked alot more of a grunge sound with their new stuff but no....THEY SOUND LIKE POPPY SHIT !! At least make it sound more grunge....that's all I ask

  • @onasunday You mean freakshow. The song was called freak, album freakshow!

  • @tinclunge123 yes I ment freak show...didn't bother typing the rest cuz i thought it was obvious what i ment... but alright... someone had to pick up on it and make me write all this shit also... thanks :P

  • @onasunday haha! peace

  • the real grunge !!!! fucker..!!

  • This band is reallly good and SMART!!!!!!!!!! Young and smart .. Revolution!

Hmm! SilverChair are king! Because they play all style perfectly! One band like that If they play punk and heavy metal again Pffff their voice would be 1000 times more punk than all others bands!

Silverchair, They are different! Started young for a long time! They are From the breed who is fuckin bright so young! HAhu HAhu! follow the leader!

  • They should go back to the nineties style. It's what their fan base likes who's been loyal since those days. They don't have to impress the thirteen year old kids who are listening to pop and the shit out today, they're too busy listening to lady gaga or whoever the fuck.

  • classic song that will NEVER be played live again!!!!! still love silverchair but i think they should do their fans a BIG favor and bring all the rock back for one tour!!

  • that ending rocks so fucking hard it is just insane, pure insane how hard these young kids rock, thank the lord for daniels teen angst and emotional problems, thats where all this came from, FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!! its almost like there not really playing that good, its like they cant be playing that, but they fucking are

  • ALL SILVERCHAIR IS GOOD IT HAS JUST PROGRESSED!~!

  • I was humming that song the other day. Made me dig this band once again. I had forgotten how immense was the first albums !

  • i always wanted that t shirt ...

  • @joseluisrl

    I always wanted that hair.

  • omg hes like a combination between kurt and eddi haha <3

  • do you guys think that dan, ben and chris are reading all that "i miss the old silverchair stuff"?

i think, it would be very intersting to know what they´re thinking about this

  • Comment removed

  • One of my favorite songs!!! yeah RIP the real great Silverchair...

  • Yeah i was just amazed they were all under 18 when i bought their first album......seriously......they deserved every bit of respect at that time.....i have alot of memories with silverchair playing in the background.

  • forever awesome...beautiful...emotional...

  • long live "old" silverchair

  • Sooooo Sic!!!

  • Peaking at 16 isn't terrible. The most creative and innovative thoughts are created in the adolescent years and early 20s. I personally feel that Silverchair only gets more interesting for me. I still love their new stuff though I do enjoy the angsty tunes of Frogstomp and Freakshow I thoroughly respect Silverchair for trying new things. Forever love Silverchair 90's and Now.

  • Damn it must suck to peak at 16...

  • Watching this, just makes me hate new silverchair more. Oh how they used to be amazing.

  • i love daniel jhons

  • his shirt says freaks..

  • This guy is so beautiful .

  • Good alive version

  • 3:18 Skills!!! and he sings while he plays!! The money I'd pay to have been in that audience...

  • Bist deppat is des geil! Silverchair rocks!!!

  • Linda música. Adoro!

  • by far, their best performance of Faultline ever. Nothing else comes close.

  • @cybersmoothy agreed this whole show was amazing!

  • I was at this concert. Brilliant

  • @NumbNuts07 what year?

  • @michaelmusica

    1997

  • the best thing about silverchair is that they write their music even at a young age they did it and were great, kudos, and by there own means they got to a high point not like the jona brother who they were backup by disneyland

  • @ MrsKoffer ---I Agree with you on some stuff but Fuck Off!!!! Does Puddle Of Mudd Suck!!! they are fucking brilliant !!! i seen them live and they were mental and there was LOADS of energy inside that band, only Grunge band that are somewhat good these days!! all the others are just crap... bunch of wannabees, atleast puddle of mudd keep to their style of grunge and i love it..... but my all time Favorite 2 bands are Nirvana And Chair !!

  • Comment removed

  • sexy, stunning,Beautiful= Daniel

  • its so easy for people to pick up a band from the 90s and now and go on with saying that theyre like nirvana ... but there are some talents in the underground just because they look a little bit like kurt doesnt make them like him. by the way puddle of mudd sucks.

its not about the looking or the style its about the power.

  • your so fucking right !!!!

  • @MrsKoffer

Fucking well said Mrs Koffer !!!

  • @MrsKoffer yeh i know right... cause its like no guys that play music have long hair... personally i think kurts overrated. nirvanas allways in my top 5 bands but i just hate the way some people think hes hugely talented and if you say other wise they just say your an idiot..

  • @AceGuitarR7 yeha man exactly... thats the major thing. everyone knows kurt but there was nothing after kurt. i think the music changed because of the media and their focus on cobainssuicide. Fuckin mtv made his Suicide fame and by the way

  • .. i hate that thing with kurt and speedmetal and thrashmetal like megadeth .. just because kurt hated it doesnt mean that its bad .. come on.. if he would be still around he would change his mind i mean look at the thrashmetal today. Guys with long hair who play guitar still rule. People shouldn't be so stupid because the underground is still rolling but its hard to find musicians.

  • he is beautiful haters he touches a woman heart

  • i remember cartoons ...the vulcan.. and the club before it was closed down I jumped off the second floor in fault line but the footage came up in pure masacare i remember the victoria park bowling club and the big day out .....and i almost forgot the australian concert securrity..... the men in yellow john

  • Pesronally, I've always felt most bands are at their best before they mature as a band. ie: Pearl Jam, Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, etc. And this is especially the case with Silverchair (imo). I just thought after freakshow, they got too soft for me. And about the Kurt/ Nirvana comparison: Daniel mentioned a few times that they were not very influenced by them as much as PJ and AIC and other grunge bands of the era.

  • i miss the old silverchair

  • even daniel hates the first 2 albums, only cos they hadnt really matured enough, they were sounding too much like the grunge cliche

but yeah credit to them they were really good at that age

  • he was 16 when this came out....not 12....

  • he wrote it when he was 12,13 or maybe 14

  • Na all songs on frogstomp were written when they were 12/13.

  • I bet most of the kids are thinking fuck they're our age !

  • That's exactly what they thought. I'm the same age as them and they came to my town to tour for FrogStomp when I was like 15 or so.

It's still unbelievable to me how solid of a band they were at that age in terms of writing music and performing.

Daniel was definitely a prodigy in ways. It is not easy to write catchy melodies yet he did so consistently at an extremely early age, and the bastard can sing like no other.

The only thing Silverchair lacked was quality lyrics.

  • Amazing how Dan wrote this at 12 or13 (when frogstomp was written).

  • god what happened to this band. made a bad left turn somewhere lol

  • While I also think that Kurt was a brilliant song writer, in terms of complexity and arrangment Daniel was/is much better. Could any of you see Kurt writing a song like Emotion Sickness, Black Tangled Heart or any song off the Diorama record? Not even close. People should respect a band such as Silverchair simply because they grew immensely as musicians on each record. I doubt Nirvana would have done the same if had continued on.

  • I think Kurt was less a doosh than people realize, he wanted to write angry and alternative, wanted to sound like the Pixies, I'm sure if he kept going he would have expanded but like you say not sure if he could do anything like emotion sickness esp at 19 when Dan wrote it.

  • Dude! Stop this blasphemy!

Kurt wrote tons upon tons of heart felt and passionate songs! Blimey!

As for early Silver Chair material and lyrics, even Daniel and critics BOTH AGREE wasn't actually THAT good. However, it isn't really about lyrics, more about music, and Silver Chair are freaking amazing.

    Just my opinion, that's all.

  • I LOVE IT!!

  • who knocked micheal jackson off the billboard charts??? sure wasnt silverchair....i LOVE silverchair but kurt dave and krist were 1000 times better and thats why they contiue to sell records even tho kurt is dead...when was the last time you heard of a new silverchair album coming out??? you all need to shut the fuck up about kurt and daniel. they have not one thing in common other than the fact that they're both drug addicts who refuse to admit it

  • Comment removed

  • They came out with a new album in 07 and are comin out with one this year.......

  • I love Nirvana and Silverchair, but Lyrically, Daniel is much more skilled than Kurt.

  • I believe it's the opposite. My opinion, though. Kurt was the genius lyricist.

  • You really think that?

I believe the opposite :P For me Daniel's a better musician, but Kurt's lyrics were more sarcastic and better. I mean, compare this one's lyrics to Heart-shaped box, or Dumb

  • Well I do love both of their sense of writing abilities, but I think Daniel was just a more serious writer later on starting mainly on Neon Ballroom and he was really really good.

  • Oh, now I see your point man, I do agree with that

  • Furthermore, you must also consider that Kurt Cobain was 27 years old when he died, and had released 3 albums. Silverchair's first album was released in 1995, It was written in 1994 when they were just 14. Fast forward to 2003 when Daniel is still only 24 years old, and there is simply no comparison. Just before his 28th birthday, Silverchair released their 5th album. Ages must be considered when debating musical "talent". Both are talented, Daniel is better.

  • Agreed
