Love mine but it flooded recently. Took it out of the garage to wash it then put it back. Big mistake. Oil burns with petrol but hadn't been warmed up so residual oil not burned off. Advice from dealer was that if you start the engine from cold and turn off the ignition before warming the engine, best to blip to 4k revs, turn off the ignition at 4k revs and as the revs drop any residual petrol/oil burns off.
i had the same worries and then followed my heart and bought one. ive never had a single problem. i dont drive it like an idiot in town but i bring out on the twisty stuff every few days and she loves it. 120 000 k's on the clock must take its toll on any motor but the handling is unbelievable.
I have only had my 09 rx8r3 for a few months and no probs. at all it is fantastic. I have had (2) gen 2 rx7 in the past an 86 and 87 and put over 150k hard miles on both with no mech. probs. I would stay away from 04/05 rx8 but 06 on I think are fine automobiles. Had a few bugs to work out on the first editions. Oh and by the way the deals right now are great I got my rx8 for 26k in Atlanta Ga. $7000.00 off!
Got a 04 RX-8 GT, 6 MT, its the best car Ive ever owned, and no problems so far

Hi Guys. Im thinking about getting a 2006 rx8. one question ; how much is the road tax for a 2006 model, i hear its a little cheaper on a 2005 model?
