I like this movie because it focuses on the characters.

After an amount of time they get afraid, paranoid and even violent.

It doesnt explain the background story of who the actual villain is or what the pourpuse of the cube is, they only make a complex character analisys like experimenting with labor rats.

Cube is one of my favorite movies ever - original and interesting storyline, great acting and visual effects. Worth, Leaven and Holloway were my favorite characters. Too bad they died. Anyway I love this film and think that Cube series influenced Saw franchise, House of 9, Kill Theory and many other similar films. Cube is one of my fav horrors of the 90's - along with Deep Rising, Lord of Illusions, Copycat, Candyman, Body Snatchers, Alien 3, Man's Best Friend, Disturbing Behavior and Scream

This movie is so underrated. It's a complete masterpiece. I'm playing Portal 2 right now and I forgot how similar Portal was to Cube. It's obvious the developers were very inspired by this movie.

@vendetta89 actually the makers of Saw are Australian, and there is a scene in the first Mad Max film where Max cuffs a guy by his ankle to a car, and gives him a saw, while fuel is pouring from a hole in the vehicle near a flame, Max says he could either try cutting through the chain in 15 minutes or his own foot in 5 to get out. He then left the chained guy there because the chained guy was part of a gang that killed Max's family.

@CactusFlagg Have you not read the background information of saw? Or Have the limited edition of Saw(1)? They even say that The Cube inspired them in making a thriller where the victims have to fight their way though traps to become free. Ultimately bringing the point across where John Kramer (Tobin Bell) says that he doesn't kill his victims, they kill themselves. So where The Cube makes you wonder who's killing everyone, Saw tells you who but you don't know why until later on in the series
