they,re talking about nothing!! thats the point of the film! showing the complete and utter boredom and nothingness that people of that time endured!! unemployment meant folks lives were meaningless and dull!! there,s not much laughter or happiness in this film! great british drama at its best!
I think Tim is a great example of a born actor, someone who has the natural talent to get inside a character. He's fantastic in this film, his second.
It's just a term of abuse - someone who is a bit of a div. People still say it - the Muppets were fairly new about the time it is set and everyone would know instantly what a 'muppet' was.
A terrific film. Not anachronistic at all. East London is still a shit hole what with half the people having mental problems they don't realise they have.
@minutegongcoughs You are one funny bloke but, shitty as it may be, it wouldn´t hurt you to spell Lisbon with a capital L. See, we are all for self-derision, but we take offence easily (might be the inferiority complex that has been ingrained in us from birth).
Aww, this seems like a good film, I can't believe I haven't seen it yet....Tim Roth looks a lot like Graham Coxon in this film :)
