It's about time women got in touch with their masculine sides. Sorry, had to say that, I HATE the phraise'get in touch with your feminine side. I'm a man, I'm not supposed to get in touch with my feminine side. And that's not cultural, it's nature.

How you motivate men to get out of their parents' basement is to provide opportunities for them to be recognized and rewarded for being men and instead of marginalized for it. Simple stuff. Given the rampant sexism against men, sometimes it is just not worth leaving the comfort and safety of the "basement." Here is the problem ladies. Men will get so fed up with the way things are, they will eventually create conditions where they can be men. This might translate into an ugly scene.

Separate schools, only male teachers in the boys' school and female in the girls' school, that way, boys learn how to be men, girls learn how to be women.

Men need challenge Women don't. They are more hardworking because their biological role makes them so. Mom is allways known and is stuck with baby. Dad may choose to be present. That was it through entire history. So women can't choose not to feed the baby one day because they just don't feel like they want to do it today. Men can choose to work or stay in the bed. The funny thing about all of this discussion is that when this was happening in the past (seperate classrooms and schools) was called sexist. And about motivating boys the key is that for boys it is about the path to manhood and have an end point. It is about a step by step process that takes years to happen. It has to be done by men for boys excluding any female influence. female influence is what caused this problem in the first place.

IMO, based on experience, observation and a few discussions, the majority of men are simply not able to nuture toddlers and infants for any length of time [say more than a couple of hours]. Its not in our DNA to do so I would say, as I think it simply cant be taught.

Men build the modern world, sacrifice and achieve, reach amazing heights and what has feminism brought? No appreciation, losing their kids and home and money in a divorce. The government agenda public education system is idiotic and the fact that males might be recognizing it is to their credit. And what men have learned from feminism is that (at least the western women) they aren't going to live their lives according to women's expectations, since women don't need them any longer. Since men can build houses, install ovens AND cook, I think this detachment from logical sex roles is going to mean a world of hurt for women in the future. Nice job ladies!

Why should men strive for anything thesedays ? The reward in the UK is a games console and an overpriced flat , and thats if your a successfull graduate on a decent wage . Most have to be content with the room they have been in since a kid plus a playstation. 50 yrs ago the hard working man had a familly and a loving wife who took care of him , it was something nice for him to come home to at the end of a day ,it pushed him to strive for success. How ironic, women propose questions about men and boys, then after generalizing men they give answers based on obviously flawed articles in a few magazines. If the question is how do men become better in society, the answer is, stop penalizing men and boys for positive masculine qualities. If all boys see on TV are men as abusers, molesters, pedephiles, and men are not supposed to define certain achievement as male achievement when women can utilize their gender for success what can you expect?

If you look at society today...it's more service based.

Woman tend to excel in the service industry versus men. So many jobs are also being lost to technology, where men used to excel at (trades, factories, etc).

We went to school for film and television...and the only jobs (paid) that are available right now are service based (assistant to producers, assistant directors, secretaries, etc)...so we are feeling it as well.

I enjoyed this segment.

I love James Dobson's book "Bringing up boys". I love his suggestion that some boys should just be held back from going to school for a couple years, b/c really the school system is made more for girls, not active boys. I thank God I"m gonna homeschool my son!
