i've brought this fact unto many of my peers and they are all stupid fucks too like many of these people who have commented assuming the UFC is the one way to prove martial superiority but whereas in truth their technique is very sloppy but works only because they are big guys and unleash brute strength. if Ali were still in his early days give him a little leg defense and takedown defense he would knockout every last sad sack in the ufc. WingTsun is what i train and i agree search Emin Boztepe
@soon2besoldier Bruce Lee lover,lol... figures. Wing Chun sucks, sorry dude. You're also far off when implying that MMA only works because of the fighters being ''big guys'' and what not. There's many small guys in height and weigh in MMA... but it's evident you're so clueless to the arts of MMA. Ali you say?,lol Ali wouldn't stand a chance nor prefer such combat skill. WC is just drunken boxing at it's best. MMA overwhelms WC by a long shot, lol.
i agree a 100% i think a fully educated shaolin monk if he really had to, he would kick all in the ufc, and pride easy. and if anyone doesent agree, then you havent meet or watch really good well sharpend kung fu styles, and watched too much ufc, brain washed of the word champion, beacuse why u dont see real kung fu styles in ufc. nr 1 they dont fight for money or pride, is for good health and a healthy life. and they dont need any belt too know they are good......
@MisQSC Kung Fu sucks. We clearly seen that in the first UFC's. You're wrong, Kung Fu practitioners have fought for money; but the reason they're not doing now it's because wing chun/kung fu just don't work. For someone to bash on true fighters now and allege UFC fighters aren't fighters base on their wrestling skills and what not are just sobbing cowards. If you truly feel kung fu works or wing chun; prove it!. It's been proven it doesn't work. Lets be adults about it and accept facts.
@coolslide1 ''Stop being a weiney'' you said?lol... what's a ''weiney?''. Anyhow, WC is farce in terms of such allege skill being use in today's MMA. WC won't stand a chance regardless of how many years you've practice it, & using against an MMA pro, it's been proven. WC will only work with ordinary unskilled people, just like Kung Fu would work. These 2 MA's i just mention above are obsolete/useless in today's TRUE combat sport. You obviously don't know true fighting, (fact!).
Dude... If one of your "Masters" goes to the UFC they are going to find themselves in a real fight. With atheletes that can take them down with ease. You better have a background in wrestling if you have ANY chance of staying on your feet inside the Octogon. Someone that is a "master" in Karate, WC, KFu, or JKD will have a very small chance of being successful. Guys will drop them on their fucking HEADS! Then break their arm. You better have a solid Wrestling and BJJ Background or its game over
Wing chun will not work because those people are so egotistical sometimes that they refuse to take up ground fighting. Some actually try to trap a stronger opponent. Most lack the experience of fighting other types of styles. Others are so uptight about making it look like wing chun that their movement becomes restrictive and predictable. They don't feint, dodge, or have angles. Most don't practice chi gong or have any body conditioning. The list goes on.
Wtf, obviously no idea. If you don't see an art in the octagon, it does not work in the octagon. UFC fighters are not just brawlers, they have been studying/training in the respective martial arts for the majority of their lives.
@Locktulkan yes exactly to "work in octagon" is the key words here.
bjj guard has ur legs wide open and legs grabbing behind opponent on top. it works great in octagon. try that on the streets and u'll be punched to ur nuts and there's nothing u can do about it
holding around someone's waist from behind also works great in octagon. on the streets u don't want to have 2 arms totally focused into holding the guy's waist because he will not go down fast enough to stop him doing many nasty attacks
@DonMega187 The guard would work very well on the street and VERY fast. You get a black belt in BJJ and as soon as they pull guard they are going to have an amateurs arm... No question about it. If not they will have them in a triangle EASY. They probably will already have the position solidified before they even pull guard! If I get behind someone with both arms around them they are about to go for a ride.. lol Before then know it they land on their head... Wake up about 6 hours later...
@suplex220 Right, and you think that is reality? If you have watched MMA you have seen strikers dominate grapplers just as much as they have been dominated. You have to realize that in the streets under attack there too many variables to find yourself on the ground. If I find myself on the ground I will try to recall every grappling move I can remember so I can get to my feet.
@anirokkfan I have never in my life seen a street fight not go to the ground. Never. And the "Strikers" that dominate usually have SICK BJJ as well like silva so they dont WANT to take him down... OR like GSP they have great wrestling skills as well. Someone that is just a striker that comes to mma is going to get fucked up...
@suplex220 GSP and Silva are my favorite fighters but I have never seen Silva display "sick bjj". I seen him submit someone but it was nothing extraordinary about it. I don't know how old you are but in a bar might not want to end up on the ground. In the playground and shcool yard I see fights going to the ground a lot but not as much with adults. Not to mention if someone is attacking you I would imagine the don't want to be down either. They need to think about fleeing after the attack.
@anirokkfan Silvas BJJ is nasty. Go do some research. As far as street fights going to the ground that is just a fact of life... People aint standing up boxing. Street fights are ugly and sloppy and almost ALWAYS end on the ground. I have been around for a while... But if in your mind you see street fights as boxing matches thats fine. You dont know shit about BJJ, Wrestling, or any other combat scenario.
@suplex220 Please understand that I am not knocking any form of martial arts! I have respect for all of them. Thats why its called MIXED martial arts because they all have something to offer. Just like in a street fight if you get taken down I guess you have no choice but to grapple. My point is practicality for self-defense not sports. This why Bruce Lee created JKD. He wanted something more rounded. He didn't drop WC and take up just grappling. This why some call him the Godfather of MMA.
@suplex220 You never seen Gracie in a real fight either but besides that you totally avoid my point about the people you brought up. Thanks for the debate time to move on.
@anirokkfan Are you fucking High?? UFC 1-5 is about as REAL FIGHT as you can get!! No weight classes, No rounds or time limit, the ONLY thing you could not do was poke in the eyes and groin punch... He beat the HELL out of the so called "KFu experts" and everybody else. Bruce lee was a goddamn MOVIE STAR!! Go back to bed sweet heart...

@suplex220 lmfao! you told straight up. Hope his feelings didn't get hurt. The first UFC'S were real street brawls as you indicated; real as it gets!. I also agree that kung fu just don't work, nor it's cousin wing chun. Yes Bruce Lee was just a movie star, not an actual fighter... but just a movie star and child prodigy.
I agree, in my wing chun experience, I have went up with a lot of mms douche bags (no offense to you mms guys out there, but there's a lot of wasted motion that makes your opponent easier to takedown.
I thought you made some good points re: martial arts as a way to self development as distinct from the way to develop fighting ability. UFC seems to have become something in which the ego of the fighters is made into theater.
However I can't help thinking that you are living in a Spanish castle when you suggest that the current fighters are unskilled or that real 'Masters' would wipe up in today's UFC.
You might enjoy watching the old UFC 1, 2 and 3 and perhaps try some full contact training.
I wish that there was a wing chun representative in the UFC, but for whatever reason there isn't. I'm really amazed that brazillan jiu jitsu has gotten as far as it did. I would say that brazillan jiu jitsu isn't the most skillful way to handle a street situation, especially with multiple attackers, but if you are a decent size to begin with and your only fighting one opponent, then it can be enough to tip the scales in the BJJ practioners favor.
Im confused, are you trying to say Wing chun fighters could come into UFC and wipe them out??? because wing chun would be a HORRIBLE example of a ma that would dominate the ufc.
oh boy. who at the SA academy is better fighter then the UFC main cards? techincally better i don't doubt for stand up. but there is much more to fighting then just being technical. then there is ground.
anyway, beforei rant. give me three fighters that would clean out the UFC.
