@TheSuperlatif I thought there were only 2 versions of the song!!!!!! The 1970's version, then the 2001 A Vava inouva 2 from the album "Identités", which had Karen Matheson. Like you said, this isn't her. but my God this is beautiful. Thank you for uploading it.

a fille supplie le sage ( vava inouva) pour lui ouvrir la porte , car elle a peur de l'ogre de la foret , mais le sage ( amghar azemni) avait peur aussi . il n'avait pas peur pour autant de l'ogre mais du monde extérieur de la petite kabyle, il sait pertinemment que la fille inconnue est l’émanation même de la culture kabyle. la peur d'affronter la rudesse de la vie et la famine en Kabylie est souvent consumé sous la lumière de la lune avec les contes légendaires.

C'est la chanteuse ZAHRA n'SUMER qui a repris ce tube qu'elle avait chanté avec Idir en 1973, et repris ici en 1998 dans son bel album...
