Breathing is the first basic skill, it took me a long time to work out, everyone is different, you either use mouth only which is easiest, or nose & mouth together which suits faster swimming, whether 2 or 3 or 4 strokes suit individuals. Watch Olympic swimmers, they use the latter skill. You have to learn to exhale the last remaining in your lungs in every breath before breathing in again, it is called 1/2 breath, otherwise you will have insufficent inhale.

People keep telling how to take the breath, but how about demonstrating how to let it out. Do you do this slowly, all at once or what?

@sbkir u r right, i mastered how to role my body and breath, but i couldnt figure out how and when to breathout !!!
