Yeah, we stayed at the Urangan Motor Inn which was... slightly less than sanitary, but is was definitely worth it to go to Fraser Island. Possibly the coolest place I've ever been.
wwow i actually stayed there too on my trip to fraser island.. I know what you mean, it had a nice fusty smell to it. kind of a small world when you're talking to someone on the other side of the world who's stayed at the same motel as you! haha

Unfortunately I didn't actually leave the airport, it was just a layover before heading to Australia :/ Got to see the sunrise in Auckland though, that was pretty beautiful :]
