It won't work for me... i have a nord stage ex plugged in with an e-mu usb (has midi in and out plugged into keyboard) please help! i've been trying to figure out how to hook my nord up to my logic express for days
hiya, thanks for your very informative video.. helped me lots but i get one problem that the sounds from my external instrument sounds low coming through.. im using a microkorg linked to a motu mk2 interface then thats linked to my macbook via usb..
on the microkorg the volume is turned up fully. the korg is also linked to the the interface with 2 audio wires ballanced and also with 2 midis..
what do you think is the problem also is there a way i can get the volume louder ..
Ok. so i do all that but i get no audio from the moog little phatty i'm trying to hook up. at the bottom of the logic screen, the program can identify what notes i'm playing, but i get absolutely no sound. i have no idea what i'm doing wrong. SOMEBODY HELP ME
can anyone PLEASE tell me how to record something either on Logic or Garage Band?? I mean, am I supposed to use my iMac's stupid mic, or is there hardware (such as cables...) that allow me to connect the instrument (guitar/keyboard/etc) to the computer? PLEASE help me out with this! ive been using Garage Band for a long time (i want to change to Logic though), but that's the only problem i have! if i record with the iMac's microphone, the quality is really poor!
Buy an audio interface. That'll allow you to connect a mic or guitar to your computer. A good one for logic is called the Apogee Duet from what I hear. Also go firewire over usb as it is a better, more stable connection. One cheaper than the Duet is a Presonus Firebox
Then you just need a microphone, and a mic cable and you should be good. You might wanna purchase studio monitors as well. Shit gets expensive man. It sure as hell is an expensive hobby.
What kind of keyboard are you talking about anyways? There are midi keyboards that connect straight into the computer via usb. But you need an interface anyways to be your soundcard. Latency would be really bad otherwise (time between playing and actually hearing the note).
okay, so i follow you up until recording. i can hear my microkorg playing via the audio track, but i cannot record, as in nothing is in the track after i play while recording.
the only difference i have is im using logic express 8 and am hooked up from the headphone jack of my korg to the mic input on my mac.
i also have a midi to usb cable, but have only used my korg as a controller through that, which i am trying to evolve from.
umm...my keyboard does not make a sound when i record ( but it does record) and i can't play it so i can't hear what i've done to it :(...why? ( my keyboard is 'keystation 49e)
this guy just blasts thru the basic steps at the beginning - i keep rewinding and trying to figure out what he's talking about in Logic - and i just don't get it - maybe he's using a different version than me (7) my window doesn't look the same....I'm trying to get my Electribe to play thru Logic, seems like it should be easy - i hate computers!
Hi. I'm doing everything you did in the video, but i'm getting a lot of whitenoise in my audio..? I have no idea whats causing this problem.. Please help me :/
this doesnt work for me :( i'm using tascam us-122 i want to use instruments from my keyboard i've set it up like you do in the enviroment window - then my midi destiantion is my instrument i named my input is the one its inputed too, and it doesnt work! i've got midi out lead going into a midi input on the tascam should this do the trick? or am i missing something please help thanks James
you record and it plays back into your midi instrument - or is it supposed to use the sounds from your midi keyboard and record them on logic? that would be good!
Don't worry there are worse cases, a friend of mine was talking to me from his mobile and suddenly he freaks out and yells: "I can't find my mobile I had it in my pocket!"
thanks for the video... and did anyone else think of the Nintendo game RC Pro Am when he played the synth line?
