  • why o why dont reviewers use a auto focus video camera when doing reviews...

I love the review BUT mad out of focus throughout... my suggestion since this is a business review and no one is manning the camera for you time while reviewing... use a cheap video camera instead of shallow deepth of field fixed focus dslr... other wise love ur stuff! hope this helps ;-0

  • Nice review. I also have the cinecity follow focus. It does have a lot of play but you said the focus ring can't be replaced. It can. When they shipped mine it came to me broken. I contacted cinecity and they sent me two for free. It was easy enough to remove and replace the ring. I agree. If you have the money go with a follow focus without play- but it's better to have one than not at all.

  • Red Rape.....

  • great review as always tony...these companies ought be ashamed of this highway robbery!!

  • OH BUT ME MUST BUY THE NAMED VARIETIES MUSTN'T WE???? WHAT A TOSSER. CANNOT STAND THIS ARROGANT PRICK.

  • So funny this clip is about FOCUS and guess what, his close shots are OUT OF FOCUS. Why didnt he use one of his FOcus Pullers to focus the shots:?

  • i could build one of these out of Lego! soooo not worth the price.

  • Hi, I have the V2 Redrock micro FF and have just had the gearbox replaced due to excessive play. It still has about 2-3mm of play but RedRock Micro are not returning my emails. I am stuck and don't what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Aaron

  • From the D|Focus website: D|FOCUS VERSION 3: $139

From the RedRockMicro website: microFollowFocus v2 $545

  • OMG, they're both too expensive..

  • who would have thought you could put such a high price tag on focus

  • Hi, i love your videos, was wondering whats the use of that little arrow thing that's behind the focus ring and the white wheel where you write with a sharpie the focus marks. I have one of those i bought from a seller on england its like that but i dont know what's the use of that particual thingy.

    Thanks!

  • it is a damn shame how arrogantly these companies can blatantly up-price everything...cinecity is the 'cheap guys' and they're STILL gouging

  • Go buy a D Focus system. save yourself some money.

  • i don't know where you got the cine model, but i have been using one since spring 10' and the gearing sys is tight, craftsmanship is good and the marking disk is held on with a quick release system so you can attach others. the only thing redrock does is put blue accents to make it look better, which of course society loves because they are all about looks and not performance. perhaps you had some older model of the cine city.

  • they both look like they should be $29.99

  • Cool, that answers my questions about follow focii! I noticed some digital clipping in the audio, it was a little distracting but still your videos are great!

  • Hi Tony. I follow you online and really appreciate the great work your doing. I have a question, I have a Sony HVR HD1000E and was wondering if either of these two follow focuses would work? If not do you of any others that aren't really expensive? Thanks alot. R

  • Thanks!

  • Hi - writing to set the record straight on a couple things.

The microFollowFocus you are reviewing is over 2 years old and has not been the current model for over a year now.

The microFollowFocus v2 currently sells for $495. New features including a new gearing system, 3d marking disk, and an entirely new quick release system that follow focuses costing twice as much don't even have. It's a great deal.

  • Actually, it's more like $545, and if you want whips or cranks it's even more. Then if you want gears to go around your lenses so you can actually pull focus it's even more. More like $1000! So much for that "great deal" you're talking about...

  • @redrockmicro Oh! And that doesn't include the rod support for the system either -- if you want to set the record straight.

  • @BryanComedyTV It'd be kind of hard to get the rail mounted follow focus to reach to your camera's built-in focus ring.

  • nice video and info

  • @rambone81 I tried looking up the jag35 but their site isn't working at all. I did however find indisystem which sells a pretty low priced unit as well. That might be an alternative to anyone looking for something like this.

  • there is also the D|Focus that cost only 135$

  • @BryanComedyTV They can if your camera has a focus ring.

  • fucking expensiv only for a little bit mechanic

  • arri do some of the best follow focus systems. Soild and makes focus super smooth

  • great job! as always i have found your videos so helpful before i buy something!

  • first!!

plz check me out a shockingproductions1
