Tol aastal pidanuks meie žürii siiski Eesti rahva arvamust kuulma... Olen veendunud, et Maarja duett Hanna-Liina Võsaga ("Aeg") jõudnuks Eurovisioonil "Keelatud maast" palju kõrgemale. Ainult algus tulnuks sel laulul ümber teha - igava klaveriklimberdamise asemel pidanuks alustama kohe torupilliga, nii nagu Maarja sama laulu hilisemas ingliskeelses versioonis.
no tõega, 1995-2002 meil OLID head laulud. viimastel aastatel ongi ainult "rändajad" ja "rockefeller street" olnud tõsiselt head laulud. LAULUKIRJUTAJAD: TEHKE SELLISEID LAULE NAGU SEE JA MEIL LÄHEB HÄSTI!
that girl participated in 1996 too for estonia. And that year her song was a lot better (got 5th position). The current song is not so impressive, but the singer is... Hi from Greece!
@panagos381 I hope not your fellows in greece have your same " taste " and knowledge x music .....;-) !
This song sounds fantastic to skilled people , like a shining jewel and honestly your comment or that one
by the other users in below nicked ErdalYildizsomething are the best evidence of how bad taste landed among too many Eurovision people and is reigning !!
No wonder ESC has been fallen to its bottom and lowest point of ignorance, bad taste and love for trash !!
@Superdriverxx1 In 2001 Estonia won, while greek song was thousand times better. But, what can we do, we must trust people's voting. This song is very nice, i just consider Estonia's participation in 1996 lot better (and not only I, but the whole Europe). It belongs to my top 10 of eurovision ever. Taste is sth subjective and you must respect it, as I do with your opinion....

This song is very nice, i just consider Estonia's participation in 1996 lot better (and not only I, but the whole Europe). It belongs to my top 10 of eurovision ever. And I belong to those who long old eurovision, cause i watch it since 1988 when Celine Dion won. Taste is sth subjective and you must respect it, as I do with your opinion...
@panagos381 I'm not focused on 2001 ESC and on if your country's song was better than Estonian one and a on all typical repertory of utter nonsenses & bs of ESC community , I couldn't care less of the 2001 Contest ..
Opposite of you I don't trust tasteless and ignorant people's voting at all , since I consider it one of the 2 big disgraces of the ESC along with overwhelming love x trash or lack of art .
Taste is sth subj ? Quite an untrue and ridiculous clichè ,
the ever excuse of badtasty people who prefer trash & mediocrity and of clueless supporters of the
Eurovision rubbish . Honestly this event is nothing but pathetic trash and commercial garbage , so nor I respect " subjective ( bad ) taste " neither I care anything of it, I just expressed my opinion , I never meant to bother you , if I did it I apologize .
@Superdriverxx1 ok my friend all we watching eurovision are stupid and assholes, while you are very clever and unique (no matter if you watch eurovision songs on youtube). Besides, you don't like cliche phrases so I shall tell you sth original: only your taste and opinion are correct. So, don't be wasted, become an artist (or critical of art) in highest academies and leave us here in our darkness and ignorancy. Or, just grow up and stop showing off...
@panagos381 I am very clever and unique ? False, I'm not unique , there are hundreds millions people in Europe who have my same opinion , so ....
I watch eurovision songs on youtube ? Not correct , I watch and listen to some songs like this one that is a little masterpiece and that can't really be put in the overwhelming trash and rubbish of the Eurovision ...!
Only my opinion and my taste are correct ? Quite contraditc. and bizarre , you seem to have big confusion in ur head 'cos I never
said that or maybe you can't find better arguments so you're writing down rambling statements .
And you don't need to be an artist or a critic to appreciate Top music , class and art which are things quite different from kleenex songs , trash and bad taste .
Keep on trusting that " good taste and beauty are subjective " so trash can even turn itself in elegance , your businness, but plz don't tell other people to grow up 'cos you sound at least pathetic .....!! lol
Can't believe what crap the Eurovision produces nowdays-- that includes our (Estonia) this years (2010) song! But last year we had good song and even better performance by Urban Symphony. It seems like hit and miss lately, which is weird because we are a singing nation. Check out the Singing Revolution movie! It's here on youtube.
The one song from 1997 that has till today a very special place in my heart ... loved Maarja during these days and even remember buying her first english album. I loved her .... sweet and such an amazing song.
@Realmeand boring this little masterpiece ?? Habes toda la rajon , much better and more exciting the ridiculous trash & sugary kitsch of Peter, Sue & Marc von switzerland in 1981 , one of lowest and most pathetic shits in ESC history which in your opinion is one of best EVER .....;-) !!
Eres verdadero español ? Porque tu pareces haber un gusto musical mas de inglès o scandinavo .......D !
@Trulyloyale HEY STOP! "Io senza te" is one of the best Eurovision Songs, i really love it, i heard it since i have it on Cd nearly 1000 times! You dont have to talk so bad about other Songs only because someone dont like this song here!!! i like it by the way, but it`s not such a big Melody than "Io senza te"!
@Busseto I think this was Terry Wogan's favorite song or at least he said it might be Tallinn next year. This was my favorite song by far and Maarja was already at age 16-17 a mature singer.
@klarinetta I don't know where you got that Terry Wogan , such an unskilled and not very informed commentator whose big lacks in music knowledge and whose biasing attitude were widely known , ever said he liked this song .
By hearing back his typical wasp minded comment , I can only listen to him telling Italy was the favourite and fearing x the big applause & great enthusiasm spreading around from the whole theater at the end of Jalisse's performance,
but honestly I never heared anything like you posted about , maybe you've dreamed on or just imagined that .....
Quite improbable that Terry Wogan , a typical british minded man ( though born irish ) would have expressed or even felt interest or appreciation for a song coming from outside Great Britain and not sung in English ....which is all average British knowledge of world songs music usually is all about ....
Not x being nationalist but just in the name of truth and looking back at true facts , the one country who showed to have understood and awarded this fantastic song was only Italy ( 12 points and voted as best song x 1997 ) .
@Busseto: Italy was the best in '97, but this is OH SO CLOSE in 2nd!!! Fiumi di parole is my 7th all-time, Keelatud maa my 10th!!! BOTH SONGS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!
Good song don't know about the 1st place but surely deserved a better place than the 8 th.

Wrong! You ought to get your facts straight before spouting utter nonsense. Wogan DID say that he thought this was a very good song..don't lie!
and what's all this rubbish about "typical british"? that British people are incapable of liking songs that aren't in English? Are you for real?
If you're anti-British then that's up to you but at least be honest about it and don't make things up!
