That St Marys valley looks something else. Fishing, mountain biking, birds of prey galore i suspect. What a place to have a smoke. Keep on Moseying Mikal - thouroughly enjoyable.
@Sargecon1 - hi, C - yes, the trail follows what used to be a train track between Kimberley & Cranbrook when the lead/zinc mine in Kimberley was active - since the mine shut down in 2001, people thought it would be great to have a pedestrian route between the towns and this was perfect - this type of use of old rail lines is becoming popular here in Canada as well as other places - bye4now, MM
@NorthGeorgiaPipe - thanks, R, and thank YT (and a freeware audio recording program) for the varieties of 'Daisy Bell' - just about one version for each day of the month! ; ) - sweet smoke, eh - MM
@TheSacredSmoke - yes it do & I thank you for joining me in the adventure, B - happy pipe smoking moseyin' yourself with the pups down there in the Springs - MM
@MrSmokeGuy - hey, MrS - thanks - initially, it was a '75 Dodge Colt stationwagon pulling a tiny UHaul trailer back in the summer of '80 - made it to Cranbrook - work took me the additional kilometers up 95A - plunked down roots and have decided to die here, whenever that happens (not too soon, hopefully) ; ) that's a partial 'gist' - save the rest for later - take care, eh! - MM
@MrSmokeGuy - yes & no - the original one - MM's my pipe smoking alter-ego channel - when the ego acts up, of course ; ) - take care, eh! dPappy (my other personality)
What knife of good fishing they got in that there river pard? Nice to see you out and about again safe pedaling pard. That sure is a cool ride you got.
@OneManSmoke - hey, S - living here in a flyfisher's paradise, you'd think I'd've tried it - nope - just can't stay still long enough for the activity - my fish comes cleaned & wrapped from the market ; ) I'll feature Max in a later segment - you'll wanna get one - hah! - tamp 'er light, eh - MM
@Flieger671 - funny you should mention that tune, M - that kicked around in my head, too, when I first noticed the span - decided to stay with 'Daisey Bell' for the cycling motif - thanks for continuing along the journey - we've a way to go yet ; ) - bye4now, MM
Hi MM, After the Railways were ruined by Beeching mile upon mile of railway track was lifted.. But now they are doing something very similar here. When I was last in London i went on a mosey with a friend through south london on disusedtracks - it was great.. Top vid mate.. Cheers, Tim
@Milverton68 - howdy, T - it's definitely a trend all over - removing rails and leaving trails - the ol' Iron Horse will probably make a comeback in future years, but for now, as they seem to go the way of the dinosaur, we're being granted access to some beautiful places - you into the new Doctor Who? - just curious - I have to watch episodes on YT since I haven't cable or satellite - got hooked on DW back in the '80s - an arf for the puppy, eh! - MM
Awesome.
Keep on trucking.

Really enjoying this. It's like being there myself... without having to do the work. :-)
Seeing that bridge make me humming the tune from River Kwai. Onwards!
