Board of Education. plus that has nothing to do w/ this subject. This is about "enforcing" a federal law, we been doing it for a long time now, ARIZONA just wants to enforce it! And since when was "enforcing" a federal law racist? If somebody cant prove their citizenship no matter what they are, then i belive their should be lawful action taken.

@DzFlipMan if you researched more effectively you would know that Plessy v Ferguson was overturned precisely because the jurisprudence was based on race. Many laws have been flawed this way. I'm surprised a law major cannot understand this concept. You must be a 1st year. Also, the maximum federal penalty for corporations found guilty of hiring undocumented workers is a measly $16,000. If government were so concerned with this, the penalty would be much higher. de gustibus non est disputandum.

If a company gives jobs to illegls than they should apply for a working visa just like i applied for a student visa. And yes I am a 1st year Law Major. But the fact is a law is law no matter how wrong it is. In India its illegal to hunt animals but its not illegal to have underage prostitution. try figuring that one out. its wrong but still a law. SB1070 is not racist. its LAW!

@DzFlipMan The Immigration Act of 1924 put quotas on immigrants considered undesirable because of their national origin.It IS about race. You are young and still learning the history of immigration policy, but you really need to do some research. Simply debating with coffee table talk will not suffice. And stop trying to argue that law is law and that's it. Jim Crow would still exist if that attitude was prevalent. The federal government is now suing Arizona because SB 1070 is unconstitutional!

Lets make a law that gives the police the right to arrest anyone they think is probably part of the KKK, a family member, or transporting a potential KKK member. But don't worry the bill will specify that race as the sole factor is not permitted, in addition it has to be upon a form of legal contact. You have nothing to worry about unless you are part of the KKK. The law will target anyone of any race, and if you are arrested you will promptly be released upon seeing the judge.

I can't wait for SB 1070 to come into effect! It's absolutely infuriating to hear stories about police catching vans overloaded with illegals, but then they have to let them go because they don't have the authority to detain them and there's no ICE agents nearby to get them. This will stop that from happening.

You might be interested to know that my mother was born in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. LEGALLY. We cannot pick and choose which laws to enforce based on an individuals sensitivity. I believe police officers are individuals lacking in personability, but that isn't the big issue, is it?
