hey man, this is AWESOME. thinking of trying this myself, so i have a couple of questions... are you using a particularly high quality bow? i dont want to spend loads on one... also, do you use rosin? if so, is it true that it can mess up your pick ups?

@thejoker1393 the bow is old and almost broken, cant play violin with it anymore and yeah, you need a lot of rosin, and it wont mess up the pickups, any bow with rosin will do the job

With a bass you'd probly have the same affect as a larger classical string instrument, it would sound awesome.

Also, I read somewhere about slacking off your strings enough to put an arc'd bridge under them. I can only assume this is to make playing the strings with a bow easier.

you clean the strings after playing with a cloth to wipe off the resin. impossible to wipe it off all the way but thats why its a good thing to change your string every six months or so

its pretty musch impossible to bow them individually, but practice helps.

From experience, you might want to take off the pickguard to really get those high notes ringing. Particularly if you want to play the higher strings without playing all the strings, and not have to have the bow way down there - the tone color is very different and very nice when it's not right above the pickup on the higher strings.

All I can reccomend at the moment is lots of rosin and lots of reverb

it's also a good idea to cover up your pickups so they dont get sticky, you can avoid that if you change your strings frequently though I reckon
