Switchfoot was first classified as a christian band but themselves wanted to change that label and not seen as only as a christian band. This song is just beautiful, like the other ones :) Lyrics are just beautiful and the meaning behind every song makes them my favourite band. <3

@paranormalghost3 Actually dude, the Stars video was made after this. Happy is a Yuppie Word was going to be the original lead single for the album but the label wanted to change it to Stars...so they did a re-shoot. I really like 'em both, though.

Wow these guys are good! If I had a nickel for every time I've listened to this song I'd be a rich woman! They are just stellar musicians. The lyrics are a lot more thoughtful than a lot of stuff out there, and it doesn't hurt that you can rock out to it.

@18jela89 He is quoting bob dylan. Bob was being interviewed by The Rolling Stone on his birthday and was asked if he was happy. He said, "these are yuppie words, happiness and unhappiness. It's not happiness or unhappiness, it's either blessed or unblessed." I take it that he means "happy and unhappy" are related to materialistic joy, whereas "blessed and unblessed" are spiritual joy. A yuppie is obsessed with social status, and bob wants people to worry less about material things.
