@Garrys300 North Vietnam had Vietcong, which used guerrilla type tactics. They also had North Vietnamese army, which used conventional fighting methods, they had military hardware from the Soviet Union and China and most of their pilots and Tank crews were trained by Soviets.
Afghans were losing at first, later US supplied them with stingers that posed a huge threat to Soviet air power in the region. Now its just a fight against islamism and high level of fanaticism.

Afghans were losing at first, later US supplied them with stingers that posed a huge threat to Soviet air power in the region. Now its just a fight against islamism and high level of fanaticism.

To add to this, the poster just says "reward" (dead or alive left off). Being level headed I would chuckle but seeing how wanted posters have actually led to murders they should not be used. thats just me.
