  • What was that addon called? sorry you speak a little too fast for me to understand.

  • I've heart you shouldn't use rupture, if there is no feral druid, correct?

  • excellent rotation, and oddly I've never though about starting with RS. Definitely going to be incorporating that into my rotation, thanks very much.

  • @Zumilas It's contested that using it in that manner is a DPS loss, but I haven't personally seen any significant changes.

  • @Zumilas For names sake, I would try it both ways and see which works better for you, i.e. using it as the first cp or last cp

  • @jessiahcouch thanks for the tip, I have incorporated it into my rotation. There was a slight dps increase. I don't understand why people are saying it's a dps loss to start with RS. if you RS to start and proc on your 4th combo point your getting an enhanced 5 combo point finisher compared to procing on your 4th combo point when you had planned to RS on the 5th and losing the 35% RS buff. Essentially what starting with RS does is eliminating the possibilty of procing your " RS combo point".

  • Music please!!

  • Should you use 2 daggers or 2 one hands or 1 one hand and dagger or what

  • @WOWTNC It's best for combat to use a slow main hand (2.6 speed) and a fast off hand (1.4 speed) the only exception to this are the daggers from the legendary chain quest.

  • Sorry friend, but you are very wrong about some things.

Rupture is only viable if Mangle or a similar debuff is on the target. Without the increased bleeds buff it's rather horrible. Even with a bleed debuff is active, it still doesn't generate enough damage per bit of energy spent as Eviscerate.

Also, always sinister strike to four combo points. So that you can revealing strike the fifth combo point up. If you go straight from 3-5 combo points, GREAT that's an increase.

    :)

  • @Neipsy7 Please read the other comments in which these issues were addressed. :)

  • @Neipsy7 Rupture > then Eviscerate in combat please learn ur facts. but u will loose dps if u try to refresh it before it completely runs out

  • im only watching this cause assassination need daggers, and i'd rather mog swords, fist weps, axes, maces.

  • @megafactory2000 Uh, thanks?

  • I am raid vanilla ragnaros with my pre tbc guild and was wondering if rupture would still have a higher priorty than Eviscerate its damage seems really low at 60

  • @WoWbyTPK I've never theorycrafted how this rotation would work at level 60, this guide is primarily geared toward level 85s who raid. The best thing I can tell you is to just try different tactics and see what works best with you. If you're running combat you'll definitely want to keep SnD up at all times, that's all I can say for certain. :) Sorry!

  • @karna77330 For rogue buffs I use rogue power bars, and for everything else I use elkano's buff bars (sp?) I think it's called

  • whats your addon for the buff please

  • Tyvm for this needed a quick and easy guide for my new rogue!

  • Are you able to explain me why you're using Revealing Strike as your 5th combo point?

Though what if you're like at 3 combo points and your sinister Strike would add 2 points. you'll have 5 combo points already without a Revealing Strike debuff up. Please answer ;)

  • @LimmenThijs @MarkySchleier Yoda would say, "Tricky question you have asked..." The 'cookie cutter way' to say it is: So long as you include it in the combat point set, you will get the DPS increase. Logically, there is no way to keep it from clipping combat points if your Sinister Strike glyph procs at 4 combat points. (4 points + 1 SS point + 1 Glyph point). Once we understand that the clip-proc is inevitable logic again dictates that we make Revealing Strike our First ability. (...cont)

  • @LimmenThijs @MarkySchleier (cont..) Revealing Strike our >First< ability (as I said in the video) per combo point set (CPS). With Revealing strike as our opener per CPS, regardless of whether we clip the proc or not, we will always gain the benefit of Revealing Strike. Where as oppositely, if we set Revealing Strike as the last ability per CPS or, in other words, at 4 combo points, we run the risk of proc'ing the glyph at 4, causing a jump to 5 combo points, losing the opportunity (...cont)

  • @LimmenThijs @MarkySchleier (cont...) losing the opportunity to complete the CPS with Revealing Strike. (The logic dictating that 5 combo points is the end of the CPS and any additional combo point gaining abilities performed at 5 combo points is an inevitable loss of DPS).

TL;DR Use Revealing Strike as your first combo point in every combo point set. If you want to chat one of one, hit me up on US - Hellscream - Alliance

  • Great video, however could you please explain to me when to use Revealing Strike?

  • Does druid tanks leave the same bleeding debuff?

  • @lordsunsurf Absolutely

  • @jessiahcouch ok sweet

  • rupture is not that great for the rotation you could be getting a lot more eviscerates off i get fine dps with out rupture 30k-40k+ in DS bosses that is with out the damage buffs you receive from some bosses those are like 50-60k+

  • @kalick10 Mathematically having Rupture in your rotation, with the addition of a bleed buff, will provide increased DPS. As subjective as "fine dps" is, some people strive for the absolute best. I use the word 'mathematically' because some people will say that they do better DPS without it; this is because they're not doing the rotation probably, don't have a bleed debuff in their raid, or having rupture is too much to handle. In any case, you have to work with what's best for you.

  • Comment removed

  • Hmm, I came upon the conclusion that you need to refresh SND with only 1 point, still lasts 20sec+

  • @Hunterbgpz You can do that, however, the maintenance will usually interrupt the normal rotation because of the frequency that you have to refresh SnD. :)

  • where is the buffs and cooldowns vid bro???

  • Rupture only provides a 1 percent damage increase, your priority is wrong evis>rupture ALWAYS

  • @RobZGod The priority of finishers is as follows.

    SnD > Rupture > Eviscerate

The recommended cycle is to always keep SnD up and then always do 5 point finishers, Rupture if it's not up and Evis otherwise. SnD does not need to be done with 5 combo points only and should always last long enough for you to build up the combo points for another SnD with at least a one finisher in between. It is competitive (loss of 1% overall DPS) to not use Rupture at all.

  • @RobZGod simplifying your rotation to 2 finishers. Similarly, if a bleed debuff (Mangle, Hemorrhage, Blood Frenzy, or Hunter pet) is not provided by your raid, you should not use Rupture. If you never use Rupture, consider moving a point from Lethality into Coup de Grace, filling out the latter talent.

  • it was very helpful ty very much man!!!

  • good video man. it helped alot.

  • Amazing vid mate simple but helped loads bud

  • @HMFirios Thanks a lot!

  • @HMFirios @bboydp2 Thanks a ton!

  • can i know what is your character's name/server? i wan't to know your talents and your gear/enchants.

  • @crazybrain007 Raykey on US Hellscream, come say hi!

  • Hey guys can you or couch please tell me what other addons he uses? i downloaded power bars but i want the other ones he uses too they look pretty solid. thanks

  • @0fficerDrobot I use Bartender, ElkBuffBars, ForteXorcist, Mik Scrolling Battle Text, Nug Combo Bar, Pitbull 4, Power Auras, Rogue Power Bars, Slice Admiral, Skinner and TipTac. I use more mods than that, but those are the ones you should be able to see. :)

  • My Rogue is currently Assassination for Pve, and I've been thinking about trying combat out, legendary quest line daggers asside, what are the best weapon combos? Would it be 2 One-hand Weapons, or One-Hand in main hand and a dagger in offhand.

  • @Silversting81 anything But daggers. Combat focuses on weapon damage. Unless you have the legendary weapons. They increase ss and rs by 45%. So 2 swords or maces, or the legendarys.

  • @MrMortish That's a song I like to call Public Domain, haha. I can't remember the exact name of the piece, but it's pretty generic choral music. I thought it sounded nice. Anywho, thanks for the comment! Glad you found the video helpful!

  • What's the name of the music right at the start, the choir?

    Also, nice tutorial. :)

  • can you tell me what glyphs do you use?

  • @mily2444 Prime: Adrenaline Rush, Sinister Strike, and "Slice and Dice". Major: Tricks of the Trade, Feint, Blade Flurry and sometimes Sprint. The minor ones are up to you.

  • plz respond fast trying to learn how to play combat

  • @bigdipps96 Don't rush me! :P

  • i have a question should i always keep up blade furry

    ?

  • @bigdipps96 You should only use Blade Flurry when you're attacking more than one mob/boss and they're within your cleave distance.

  • BEST GUIDE

    THX ALOT !!!!!!!!

    :D

  • @myALHammadi Thanks a lot! I still need to get unlazy and do part two. :3

  • What would you consider the overall best spec for DS with the Fear and Vengeance? My friend says assassination, yet I say combat, any help?

  • @MrDUCKYBUDDY With the 45% damage buff given by the main-hand I still find Combat to be the most effective spec for raiding Dragon Soul. There are many fuights where being able to cleave with Blade Flurry grants a significant advantage and that there are many instances where Assassination spec is handicapped by fight mechanics such as not being able to get "behind" Ultraxion or Madness. So for now I have to say Combat is still the best.

  • I tried adding the addon you suggested... But is it updated to 4.3? I cant seem to get it to play.

  • @sheppak Make sure that they're all up today. For Rogue Power Bars I'm using version 4.0.1.1. I have my out of date add-ons loaded as well. If you're still having issues with that version let me know and I'll see what I can do further to help.

  • shouldent you only use repture if someone in your raid is putting up a bleed de-buff to the target?

  • @TheMoordo Yes, it's true that you should not use Rupture if your raid does not have the bleed de-buff. However, since this guide is only the basic level of rotation and does not go into specifics, I chose to include Rupture on the basis of my personal experience that most raids will have a character or pet that brings the bleed de-buff. It's much harder to know that you should be using Rupture and are not familiar with using it in your rotation, than using it and choosing to not include it. :)

  • @TheMoordo (Con't) Specifically regarding using Rupture in your rotation: It is much better to have the knowledge and not need it, than to need the knowledge and not have it. :)

  • Do u use a slow MH or a fast dagger MH?

  • @KrillosKrillo It's much better to use a slow main-hand with higher damage because the damage calculated for Sinister Strike and Revealing strike is based off of your main-hand. This is why (prior to the legendary quest daggers) most combat rogues used a sword or mace in the main-hand slot.

  • The BEST advice a video has gaven me thankyou :)

  • @NikkahNic Thanks so much!

  • Thanks! This helped alot!

  • @Lethaloranges Glad you liked it! Always happy to help. Feel free to visit me in game anytime on Hellscream!

  • nice i realy liked the video

  • @xXsergeronXx Thanks very much, working on video 2 atm

  • GREAT NEWS EVERYONE! The slime is flowing again!! This is finals week however, been doing a lot of studying. I will do my best to produce a video on or prior to Sunday! HURAY 4.3!

  • How does ur energy replenish so fast, on my level 64 it takes way too long to do that many sinister strikes, makes my dps shit

  • @AndersR25 This video's demographic is really targeted toward level 85 characters. Your energy regenration rate should coincide with your haste. This may not be 100% practical for characters less than level 80 due to the timing. However, the one thing I can encourage is keeping Slice and Dice up at all times you're in combat. Hope this helps!

  • @jessiahcouch Ty :) I'm just a little upset because i only do 500 dps at level 65 when the average is like 700-800. I want to be a good PvE rogue, but it's not easy! what would u say is ur rotation? it would really help to know!!

  • @AndersR25 The best advice I can give you is to not look at the numbers while you're leveling. There are just way too many variables to put into consideration until you reach max level. Don't be concerned with your DPS, just keep working toward those new levels, and the DPS will come. :)

  • Nice explanation, and great background music

  • @Starclaymore Thanks a lot for the positive feedback!

  • same i like it keep up the good work helped me alot!! :)

  • @mrzaphim1 Be looking forward to Episode 2 as soon as the changes for 4.3 are final!

  • what about blade furry?

  • @PieRoDrakDevill I will cover Blade Flurry in 4.3, but in brief you'll want to use it whenever you're dealing with more than one mob and on bosses like Lord Rhyolith where he has more than one targetable areas in close proximity.

  • I'm really siting on the edge of my seat waiting for 4.3 to launch so I can go ahead and test out any changes in cooldown dynamics before creating video 2. It's coming!!

  • awsome guide dude helped me out alot!

  • thanks bro ive just dinged, my dps still isnt too good, probs just gear <3 great guide tho

  • @fingerboardingist Grats on the Ding! Don't worry, your DPS will follow through soon, just remember your rotation!

  • @jessiahcouch cheers mate, its annoying, i think it may be the gear, im doign terrible dps, im doing what you say, sinsiter to 5 combo, snd, sinsister to 5 combo rupture, sinsister /revealing strike to 5 cp then quickly fit in one eviscrate or two, ive followed some glpyhs, i hope its the gear :) ty

  • Ive never played a rogue before but when do you use the last attack you get from combat tree? Im think trash but the cooldown seems to long for that.

  • @aquaotter1 Sorry for the delay! I've been busy with school and haven't worked on video two yet! But just to answer your question quickly: You'll use Killing Spree once you have Deep Insight on the target and you use up your energy!

  • so you dont need to have 5cp to use SnD?

  • @xXci0zXx Not at all! It all depends on your haste, energy regen and flexibility that will dictate how often and for how much you need to refresh SnD. The key is to remember never let it fall off, keep it up at all times, even if you have to cast a 1 CP one.

  • whats ur dps in this video?

  • @Amoxjr DPS wasn't my focus in the video. Here's something very important to remember: Meters will always screw you up, don't pay too much attention to them. When I raid, I don't even keep my meters up. Focus on proper mechanics and rotation maintenance and the DPS will come easily. :)

  • Awesome video Raykey, though I suspect this really isn't your first one. Hmmm, maybe i'm wrong, it's just that it's so well done.

  • @bluntsmoker420 I've done a lot of video editing in the past, but never for WoW, or a tutorial. Thank you!

  • Hi raykey, nice video!

  • @MrCallmetim Thanks a lot! If there's anything else you'd like to see, please let me know!
