When I seen I was a sinner heading for hell I went to a prayer room at a church cried out to god and he saved me. A simple prayer won't save a man. Each may have their own belief and may choose which translation of the Bible they wnat to use. You speak here that Young's translation is the better because it has "the hope". Read John 3:16 of Young's translation, " but may have life age-during ", the others say "but have everlasting life". Would you rather have "may have" or "have". Young's translation says, "life age-durning", the others say "everlasting life". I go back to Greek & Hebrew for the meaning of when the Scriptures writteen.
It's so sad to see people speak ill of this man. I've heard sermons where Paul Washer has expressed so humbly the times that he has had to be corrected and the gift that it truly is. I listen to a man who speaks the truth unashamed and I am so grateful for his honesty. What Paul Washer preaches is NOT a salvation by works. Throwing yourself upon Christ - that is, surrendering your life to Him, is not a work of any form. Both Jesus and John the Baptist say "Repent, the Kingdom of Heaven is near!" By your own words, you claim repentance is a work. THERE CAN BE NO SALVATION WITHOUT REPENTANCE! Can a man be "saved" and continue in his sin. Absolutely not! To say so would be mockery of everything that Christ did. Repent of your heresy, or face God's judgment.

Erm... but you don't realize the Truth. You said the Cross... but the Cross is to die in Jesus Christ to this world, to the darkness and revive in Jesus the Lord as a child of God. And if you reborn in Jesus, He will live through you.

You're misunderstanding 1 Thessalonians 5. When Paul is talking about the "darknes" he's talking about "sin" in the world. You're not in sin, you're not in and of the world. You are sons of light. HE, if any, knows that if the Holy Spirit does nothing with a mans heart, then nothing will happen. Andrew, do you know why Jesus said this? Many would misunderstand Jesus to be saying that you have to earn salvation by doing good works, just as you have misinterpreted Paul Washer. Jesus was saying that if your righteousness doesn't exceed that of the pharisees, it shows there has been no true repentance and therefore no salvation.
You err when you claim that the Gospel is based only on "believe". The Devil would qualify! No, it is "Repent and believe". To repent is to turn from sin. Not to become totally sinless, but to change your lifestyle from being enslaved to self, to walking in the Spirit. PW is very, very, very clear that good works will not earn salvation, but that salvation will, by its very nature produce good works. That's 'good Bible'.
The "discotheque" illustration was an excerpt only to illustrate one point - the hatred for sin that salvation produces. That's only one of the tests in 1 John, and yes, John writes these things "so that you may know you have eternal life". To assume that this excerpt embodies the whole understanding between PW and the Romanian would be to ignore and be out of synch with everything PW preaches.

How are we to know then, that Christ actually has saved us? Just by believing that Christ has saved us? What if there is no change in our lives? Can that kind of belief be saving faith? How is the message of Washer any different from that of Christ and the Apostles who said "REPENT and BELIEVE". Those are two things that must be done, according to the Saviour. So, why is PW wrong for saying the same thing?

I think a lot of people have it backwards-works are simply the evidence of faith , not the cause of it . Salvation is the end result of repentance . Once one has been saved their life is a matter of growth in the Spirit designed to effect greater rapport with God through daily contact , not a continuos series of readjustments neededto maintain ones status in the Lord . I don't get you brother. I agree that you say with salvation comes 'growth in the Spirit', does not growth require a series of adjustments? Are you still wearing Gerber baby shoes, or have you adjusted in your growth? If we're not seeing more and more corruption in our own personal lives as we draw closer to the Light, then we should question if we are truly saved. Our life after that is a matter of growing in the Lord, not to maintain salvation, but to achieve greater rapport with Him. I think what people miss, is we are not saying that you do not become a new creature when your saved, or that your life isnt shown evidence, I agree with that much of course. But, to preach that you have to keep doing this or that, and continually check to see if your in the faith, is lordship salvation. please look up the doctrine of lordship salvation. and remember to test every doctrine against the word of God no matter how passionate the speaker.

Paul Washer always states the only way unto salvation is to BELIEVE in Christ.
Then he shows people how they know if they have truly believed and accepted Christ and what he is and has done for us.
So if you truly believe in Jesus then you also believe in his teachings.
If you don't feel the holy spirit changing you then you're probably not born again but still living in the ways of the world and have never changed into a new being for God.

"DO" is my favorite word too. Because a believer believes in the will of God, but a discpile does the will of God. A beleiver beleives in miracles, a disciple manifest the gospel thru miracles. A beleiver feels love for the sinner, a dicsiple loves the sinner because love isnt something you feel, LOVE is something you do. The greatest commandment, not the greatest feeling, is LOVE. I have listened to a few of Paul Washer's sermons & I took away a different message.
Repentance is turning away from sins that without JESUS, you would gladly participate in. Turning from sin because you love JESUS, not because you will be caught or punished by men. As far as the works, they are significant not expressly for salvation but more as evidence of the salvation. We are not saved by good works, but the good works are evidence of our changed hearts. You will know a tree by it's fruit.

The real question here is "to what extent are our actions under the sovereign hand of God?". We must do. We must- or we will not do anything. The fact that in the temporal sphere we understand action and consequence, or cause-and-effect doesn't mean that those actions are not outworkings of the sovereign hand of God. Plus, faith without works is dead right? If i say that i am hungry,and you have food but ONLY pray that im filled is dead faith. And at the same time, works are not required in salvation. When I seen I was a sinner heading for hell I went to a prayer room at a church cried out to god and he saved me. A simple prayer won't save a man. Therefore, dear brother, they had to have their eyes opened first. But how can repentance come if there is no conviction, and how can conviction come without no one speaking of sin . The law is there to show what sin is. The conviction comes through the Holy Spirit. Then they repent, and believe receave forgiveness of sins and are sanctified by faith in Jesus.

Each may have their own belief and may choose which translation of the Bible they wnat to use. You speak here that Young's translation is the better because it has "the hope". Read John 3:16 of Young's translation, " but may have life age-during ", the others say "but have everlasting life". Would you rather have "may have" or "have". Young's translation says, "life age-durning", the others say "everlasting life". I go back to Greek & Hebrew for the meaning of when the Scriptures writteen.

It's so sad to see people speak ill of this man. I've heard sermons where Paul Washer has expressed so humbly the times that he has had to be corrected and the gift that it truly is. I listen to a man who speaks the truth unashamed and I am so grateful for his honesty. What Paul Washer preaches is NOT a salvation by works. Throwing yourself upon Christ - that is, surrendering your life to Him, is not a work of any form. Both Jesus and John the Baptist say "Repent, the Kingdom of Heaven is near!" By your own words, you claim repentance is a work. THERE CAN BE NO SALVATION WITHOUT REPENTANCE! Can a man be "saved" and continue in his sin. Absolutely not! To say so would be mockery of everything that Christ did. Repent of your heresy, or face God's judgment.

Anyways... once you die and revive in Christs, Romans 6, you'll see that Jesus will live through you if you have faith!

You're misunderstanding 1 Thessalonians 5. When Paul is talking about the "darknes" he's talking about "sin" in the world. You're not in sin, you're not in and of the world. You are sons of light. Sir, I could not disagree enough with youre taking on this. Washer does NOT say "do this and do that to get saved". HE, if any, knows that if the Holy Spirit does nothing with a mans heart, then nothing will happen. Washer does NOT run a factory, very contrary, he has actually "chased" people away more than bringing them in because he speaks the gospel.
To throw ourself upon Christ is to throw our selves on HIS righteousness and rely on him only. Thats what he means.

Andrew, do you know why Jesus said this? Many would misunderstand Jesus to be saying that you have to earn salvation by doing good works, just as you have misinterpreted Paul Washer. Jesus was saying that if your righteousness doesn't exceed that of the pharisees, it shows there has been no true repentance and therefore no salvation.

You err when you claim that the Gospel is based only on "believe". The Devil would qualify! No, it is "Repent and believe". To repent is to turn from sin. Not to become totally sinless, but to change your lifestyle from being enslaved to self, to walking in the Spirit. PW is very, very, very clear that good works will not earn salvation, but that salvation will, by its very nature produce good works. That's 'good Bible'.

The "discotheque" illustration was an excerpt only to illustrate one point - the hatred for sin that salvation produces. That's only one of the tests in 1 John, and yes, John writes these things "so that you may know you have eternal life". To assume that this excerpt embodies the whole understanding between PW and the Romanian would be to ignore and be out of synch with everything PW preaches.

Andrew, based on your comments, you seem to know about God, but not know God and what God is. I will pray for you, that you will one take take the step to DO something: Open the door of your heart to allow God, who is knocking at the door of your heart, and let God into your life.

How are we to know then, that Christ actually has saved us? Just by believing that Christ has saved us? What if there is no change in our lives? Can that kind of belief be saving faith? How is the message of Washer any different from that of Christ and the Apostles who said "REPENT and BELIEVE". Those are two things that must be done, according to the Saviour. I think a lot of people have it backwards-works are simply the evidence of faith , not the cause of it . Salvation is the end result of repentance . Once one has been saved their life is a matter of growth in the Spirit designed to effect greater rapport with God through daily contact , not a continuos series of readjustments neededto maintain ones status in the Lord . I don't get you brother. I agree that you say with salvation comes 'growth in the Spirit', does not growth require a series of adjustments? Are you still wearing Gerber baby shoes, or have you adjusted in your growth? If we're not seeing more and more corruption in our own personal lives as we draw closer to the Light, then we should question if we are truly saved. Our life after that is a matter of growing in the Lord, not to maintain salvation, but to achieve greater rapport with Him. I think what people miss, is we are not saying that you do not become a new creature when your saved, or that your life isnt shown evidence, I agree with that much of course. But, to preach that you have to keep doing this or that, and continually check to see if your in the faith, is lordship salvation. please look up the doctrine of lordship salvation. and remember to test every doctrine against the word of God no matter how passionate the speaker.

Paul Washer always states the only way unto salvation is to BELIEVE in Christ.
Then he shows people how they know if they have truly believed and accepted Christ and what he is and has done for us.
So if you truly believe in Jesus then you also believe in his teachings.
If you don't feel the holy spirit changing you then you're probably not born again but still living in the ways of the world and have never changed into a new being for God.

I have listened to a few of Paul Washer's sermons & I took away a different message.
Repentance is turning away from sins that without JESUS, you would gladly participate in. Turning from sin because you love JESUS, not because you will be caught or punished by men. As far as the works, they are significant not expressly for salvation but more as evidence of the salvation. We are not saved by good works, but the good works are evidence of our changed hearts. You will know a tree by it's fruit.

The real question here is "to what extent are our actions under the sovereign hand of God?". We must do. We must- or we will not do anything. The fact that in the temporal sphere we understand action and consequence, or cause-and-effect doesn't mean that those actions are not outworkings of the sovereign hand of God. The only reason we do anything is because God in his sovereignty has willed it. The fact that it comes as a result of hearing the word of God only means that God is a promise-keeper

I trust in Jesus for my salvation alone, I do works for God to please God - not out of fear of my salvation, even though it is written pious works are filthy rags to Him. I strive, stumble, strive and stumble a bit more, but I continue to run the race. Nope, by faith I am saved and by faith alone. And I know it. s has the only way out of all history to get right with God, but Jesus told me the right way long before this little fella ever came along. And to me, just as with the Pharisees, this man doesn't understand Gods way of getting right.

why do you attack him so much, that guy's word led me to repentance and since then everything changed in my life, and he speaks the truth about the doctrine of self-denial and regeneration!, you missunderstand so much! paul washer preaching always state that salvation is by faith only in jesus christ, never by works!

obviously youre misunderstanding pauls message, if anything it seems as if your being pharisetic, i mean you cant always theologically explain pples revlations from GOd (the roman boys). The fear of the Lord is a beautiful thing. He was uncertain and yea read James. Glory be to Jesus Christ

I don't understand why you take offense with Paul Washer's preaching... he isn't preaching salvation by works at all! What he is saying is that the one who is truly saved will show the fruits of it!

I don't see no sin in his words.He simply said "call on the name of the Lord NOW".
NOW is correct, because God can take your life whenever He wants and still be loving and just.
your life is not yours, it's the life God gave you.
and the second part you don't understand, it is to reveal the fear of the Lord.
you're taking verses out of context and you don't understand what he is preaching.

I have listened to Paul Washer. He is one of Gods great servants who proclaim the Full Gospel and the Whole Truth onto the world. Please stop taking Paul Washers words and Bible verses out of context to confuse people.

.. it is easy to see how good a preacher is--look at how much Andrew Bain ridicules them. Its a flawless formula. The better quality of a preacher, and the more Godly he is; the more Andrew Bain criticizes and hates him.

why is this man so against him. and faith without works is dead, although we are saved by grace we must still bear fruits of our salvation or we are not truly saved.
