  • Always a pleasurable learning experience to watch your information filled enthusiastic videos! Local NM news informs that although our state is rich in chili growing history grows a remarkable variety of chili peppers 80 % of mainstream market sold chili peppers are China imports Apple cherry apricot pecan fig trees and an impressive variety of vegetables with a little organic help grow beautifully in desert locations. Powerful videos John. Lets grow our own buy from and share with neighbors.

  • John some people just dont have a CLUE!

  • If you don't like the fruit, feed it to your neighbors! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • For those of you thinking about growing a container mango tree in up north, you can do it, just put your tree in the greenhouse in the winter and away from freezing temps. Good container mango varieties ( aka Condo Mango ) are the "Pickering", "Ice cream" and "Nam Doc Mai #4" there are other too. but those three are really good. John, you should have purchased that "Coconut Cream", and the "Lemon Zest" two new varieties that are the rave for Fla mango aficionados .

  • Hey John, I just wanted to chime in and say that I appreciate and enjoy your enthusiastic videos. Your personal approach to these videos is why I keep watching them :)

  • Great video John, I look forward to more. You should do a vid on pepper variaties for all chillfreaks!! Cheers from Mexico!

  • Thanks John! My cousin lives in South Florida. I will forward this video to her. Keep up the good work. When are you having the next Raw Food Expo? I want to go.

    James Madison

  • @HappyMeal255 If your talking about his facebook products, you can go to his facebook page and click on products on the left side (under wall, info, friend activity etc). You can then view your account and your order.

  • Im not sure that this is an FDA and Dept of Agriculture approved video. This guy Mike sounds like a terr0rist.

  • @mahavira108 Are you high? If the FDA cared about the American people, they wouldn't deem a certain percentage of rat droppings in commercial food as acceptable. NO AMOUT OF RAP CRAP IS ACCEPTABLE IN MY BOOK! Plus they approve all the produce that is full of pesticides. Stop with your bs and just eat at McDonalds every day.

  • @Thaneii LOL. I was being ironic/sarcastic!

  • You forgot that you can grow them in Hawaii

  • This video makes me want to move to Costa Rica and live off mangos avacados I grow myself.

  • Great videos! ... I love the upbeat enthusiasm! They are very motivational! I wouldn't change a thing. If you were anything less than you John I would have to wonder if you lost that amazing passionate gift which you are so willing to share with everyone and anyone who's willing to listen.

  • I absolutely love his vitality and enthusiasm. His sincerity shines through. And most importantly I can hear him! Great channel, one of my favorites.

  • 1 acre = 4046,9 m² = 0,40469 ha

  • Great video!

  • These are my favourite videos of yours John - where you detail how others to grow food =] It's inspirational to see how others do it! Peace, from New Zealand! Support small local business!

  • Another Great Video, John You Should Come Back to California and Do Some Great Nurseries

  • @VojvodinaNet Wow.. really?? I know John welcomes constructive criticism, but telling the guy not to be as up beat is a bit crass. Personally I thoroughly enjoy Johns enthusiastically infused videos. I can't watch a single video of Johns without needing to get up afterward and do 'something' in relation to gardening. I don't believe he wants to put people to sleep! He is excited, he excites us, he motivates us.. it's a good thing! Keep up the great work, John.. we love you!

  • Corporations "push" their agenda's on us every single day, in the subway, on the TV, in Newspapers, Everywhere. Im fighting back with videos that spread a worthy message. I'm an upbeat person by nature, and want to inspire and get people EXCITED about gardening. I'm sure there are other gardening channels on YouTube you can watch with hosts that are not as exciting or upbeat as myself, and encourage you to watch them if you don't like my upbeat attitude or information.

  • Once again, I provide my videos FREE of charge to anyone that wants to watch, and they are my creative outlet..My expression; my art, per se... Would you ever discourage an artist from being fully expressive??

  • @VojvodinaNet I meant it the best possible way. I think that you have great energy, large amounts of good will. This is rare, that is why I watch your videos. I will continue watching them even if you don't change anything in your style. I just think that you could have even more success with subtle changes in your style of presentation.I think that you are an excellent presenter, but it feels as if you focus on attracting newbies, which is also good effort.

  • @VojvodinaNet u sir are an ageing liberal douche faggot

  • A wonderful idea! Thanks for the great video.

  • Great Vlog John!

  • all that one one acre?

  • Avesome video!

  • Don't buy a dragon fruit plant. Go to walmart or home depot and buy a grafted cactus. Throw the grafted top in the garbage and the bottom part will sprout side shoots and is a dragon fruit. Dragon fruits are almost always used as grafting stock for those cactus.

  • @martenfisher1 The problem with this, is that you do not know what variety your getting, there are many delicious cultivars "Delight" "purple haze" etc. many people grow Pitaya, you can look on craigslist to see if people have cuttings of known good varieties that are sweet and tasty. they are easy to grow from cuttings, basically just cut off a piece and stick it in the ground. I have 3 varieties growing like weeds in my back yard.

  • @agriperma That is true if you care about variety. I think the average person would think it is cool to have any variety. I grow dragon fruit, snake cactus, and acanthocereus tetragonus. They are all good as is.

  • @martenfisher1 I get where your coming from, these things will grow even from seed, here in the tropics I have one grew up a fence, and is like 20ft long, this from a unknown variety that was pretty tasty. hybrids generally are sweeter though ( pink inside ). anyway, online cuttings are available cheap, all my cuttings i got for free, just from people that had them, "Vietnamese Jaina" Makisupa " and the unknown one. Anyone in the D.R. that wants a cutting, just write :)

  • You are the Steve Irvin of the plants !

  • Comment removed

  • i live in northwest georgia i have orange and lemon and apple, peach , pear , and cherry trees i am currently working on make orange lemon and lime trees cold hardy and able to grow anywhere in the us

  • Why does he have grass? doesn't that steal from the soil?

  • @DanielManahan grass feeds from the top of the soil, Fruit trees are deep rooted, so not much competition for nutrients. because of Floridas well drained sandy soil, nutrients would leach down quickly anyway.

  • Do you have to do grafting for avocado trees to ensure better fruit production?

  • @DanielManahan absolutely, I have a huge avocado tree in my house in guatemala and the fruit gets lots of diseases and very few turn out ok.

  • Home grown tasting 10x better is not an exaggeration.

  • @XhanaLabs This is true, a tree ripe mango is so much better than one in the store. plus you can grow varieties for taste instead of commercial types usually selected for shelf life, shipping, and production.

  • fruit tree paradise! I would loose my mind , wow!

  • LUV YOUR VIDEOS

  • Lol who wants the mango strings??

  • @CountToBen good mangoes have no fiber ( strings ) , for example, Glenn, Edward, among dozens of other creamy tasty varieties.

  • Beautiful! Loved the idea of using the dead tree as a stabilizer. On my 1 acre the drought here in Texas took at least a dozen tree's. We were waiting till spring to see how many we need to take down. Hubby is gonna think I'm nuts telling him to leave me 6' stumps, HAHA!!

John, little quick off topic question. You installed the earthmister. I've been patiently waiting for the video. Simple yes or no.... should I invest? I'm planning 8 4x24 beds now, still up in the air on irrigation.

  • Great Video !

  • John, I love how enthusiastic you are about this, please never change bro! lol.

Sending you some more love from CANADA

  • I'm looking for an expert at growing fruit trees in Pennsylvania. Thanks for the video

  • I wish we lived near Mike!!!!!!

Wow Great video!! Are there any guys who do the same thing in NY????

  • @faithslanding We have a lot of apple orchards. Where in NY?

  • @MrsNewAmericaNow Dutchess county .... Poughkeepsie area. We would love to grow apples and pears and peaches and cherries on our little patch of land.

  • @faithslanding I hate to say this but I would check your local zoning and HOA if you have one. You should be fine growing those trees. We have apples, pear and cherries here in NY and we're a zone 3. Hopefully, they will fruit this year. It takes a few years for them to fruit depending on the type and age of the tree you buy. Superthrive is a great product to use, it made my lemon tree grow at least 18" in one season.

    Good Luck!

  • That's great. :) I know kumquats and oranges grow well here in southern Louisiana. I'd be willing to try some additional fruits and figure out what else could grow here. Very inspirational and it's tempting to get an acre of land just to try and grow fruit trees.
