When he handed me the ticket, he said "never quit." When my father passed away this year (the last game we watched together was the Redskins game last December), I looked for that ticket. The Cowboys, up or down, will always be my team and my lasting connection to my father.

I was at this game with my late father. I wanted to leave early, because the Kins had the ball with less than two minutes and I was sure they were going to run out the clock. My dad asked me, "are you sure?" to which I said yes. I hated the Skins, then and now, and didn't want to stick around for the end. As I was bitching all the way to the car, I heard some fans screaming, cheering "we won!" My dad just looked at me and grinned. When we got home, he took the ticket and wrote the score.
