  • Wasn't there a similar one with the Muppets cheering at the over something, complete with one that seemed to be pinwheeling thru the air? I'm guessing the prop men were hurling it about so it looked like someone doing cartwheels. Anyone recall that one?

  • That bitch said "I don't care!" funny!

  • The Green Anything Muppet looks like the same puppet used in the OP family song (Muppets version).

  • Where can I find the "Hip-Hip-Oolah!" one?

  • I love how at the end the Blue guy is just swinging himself around.

  • @MarioZone69 It was so cute when Green gave Roosevelt Franklin a kiss at 0:00-0:01

  • 1:14 - Look at the top left hand corner of the screen for a person's hand tossing a balloon.

  • Yeah, stagehands are visible back in those days. The early days are always givin' away things you're not supposed to see on TV.

  • Yep. I even saw another hand throwing the confeti.

  • The Fat Blue Anything Muppet cheerleader sound like Convincing John, Cantus the Minstrel, Guy Smiley and The Muppet Newsman.

The Pumpkin Anything Muppet cheerleader sound like Bert and Fozzie Bear.

Roosevelt Franklin sound like Sherlock Hemlock here.

The Green Anything Muppet cheerleader sound like Zoe.

  • Jim Hneson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson and Fran Brill.

  • Is it me or is that Green Anything Muppet cheerleader the same puppet used for the "Op" family song?

  • @kungfujiapple Yes, and she's cute!

  • Muppet performers in this sketch:

Fat Blue Anything Muppet cheerleader #1: Jim Henson

Pumpkin Anything Muppet cheerleader #2: Frank Oz

Roosevelt Franklin (a.k.a. Cheerleader #3): Jerry Nelson

Green Anything Muppet cheerleader #4: Fran Brill

  • BTW, this sketch appears on:

    "Sesame Street" episode 0176 (January 11, 1971)

    "Sesame Street" episode 0560 (December 21, 1973)

    "Sesame Street" episode 2228 (November 19, 1986)

    "Sesame Street" episode 2257 (December 30, 1986)

  • From 1970.

  • The first time, they made 3 big cheers, the second time 6 big cheers, and finally 4 big cheers.

  • This is a great clip. I have a copy of this at home, but it's on a spanish soundtrack. It's still fun to watch and fairly easy to know what's going on.

  • I don't care!

    ROFL!

That made me LOL just like it used to when I was a kid! Four big cheers for timeless Sesame Street humor!

  • "It's so crazy it just might work!" (chuckles) That's how Bert felt about him and Ernie drumming, how Two-Headed Monster felt about bubble blowing, and how the Sniddler's Gulch folk felt about a kid asking Cowboy "X" to stop marking X's all over town. That line never gets old.

  • It was also used by Fargo North on the Electric Company album when he got a mysterious phone call by Mel Brooks who was putting an e at the end of "cut" to make "cute" and then said, "Listen, take my advice, don't be a dummy, if you really got a cut, you don't put an e on it, you put a band aid on it." and Fargo said, "It's so crazy it just might work."

  • Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha look at the blue muppet at the end.

  • I remember seeing this as late as 2001.

  • -I think that was more than 4.

    -I think it was less.

    -I think it's about right.

    -I don't care.

    LOL

  • -I lost track.

  • Yeah, I knew it wasn't *exactly* right, but it's still funny. :)

  • That's my favorite bit, too. Cute how the Girl doesn't care!

  • Anyone else notice the hands throwing the confetti and balloons at the end?

  • Yep. That's a blooper.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you...I haven't seen this since it was on PBS!
