Hey CrazyNinjaMike, do you own Warhead? If not it's probably something to consider. Since it apparently gives a performance kick aka less laggy fights. A must need for myself.
Hey I saw your response, nice man! I posted a comment on it, well 2 actually hehe. I don't own Crysis Warhead yet. I'm actually looking to build a desktop PC that can max out Warhead and Farcry 2. I want to get the full feel first time around on these next 2 games. Might make the experience better, if it's the first time WITH the highest graphics. Thanks for comment!
Thanks, and myself might be thinking about buying the full experience, with I new PC also. Maybe not a laptop with stereo sound, this time! But I'm probably going to get Farcry 2 and Warhead and see how they run on the laptop anyway. I hope to see how well Crysis/Farcry2 will run on your new PC.
I sure will make a video of it when I make the PC. Probably won't be for a long time though, but oh well, when I do get to play them, it'll be sweet and max graphics :)
And yes, farcry 2 and crysis warhead will work great on our laptop. It will perform slightly better than original Crysis.
I have the same laptop with the 9600GT 512,4GB ram and 2.56GHZ core 2 duo. Hp makes some pretty good laptops, good pricing too.
I can play crysis on medium no lag on vista - i'm contemplating on weather or no i should downgrade to XP. Thanks for uploading this vid btw, it helped me in my descision in getting an HP laptop ! No regrets !
cool, yea you have a killer laptop! If you wanted improved fps with vista, try typing -dx9 in the shortcut's parameter for Crysis on the dekstop (right click crysis shortcut, properties, add -dx9 to end of parameter)
It'll be almost like it's on XP. But XP still will give you the most fps boost. Thanks for the comment!
cool dude! glad to hear it. Yea the 9600m GT is AMAZING! You did a great job buying your laptop :). Just for dedicated graphics cards, look into getting a laptop cooler if your notebook gets too hot when you play Crysis.
you're not a dummy at all! Only smart people ask questions :) . It is a computer game called Crysis. It is the most system intensive game out there right now. It takes a good gaming computer and laughs at it lol.
I'm guessing you bought your pc from a dealer, what is the model number, for example: Gateway x105 or something, or HP dv9500t...you get it. Then give me a price range you are interested in.
yeah because i run call of duty 4 with like 40 fps at the same exact settings i play crysis with but crysis gets like 4.and can you suggest a good cheap graphics card?
CPU and RAM is SUPERB. The GPU (graphics card) is lacking greatly. See what slots you have on your mobo that is free and what your psu is, then find a card that you can get for it. I'd recommend the 8800GT, it pwns. Also try out the 9800GTX, it pwns twice as well for about twice the price.
anti-aliasing. It is a setting that makes jagged edges go away. But it slows down your game a lot, not worth it unless you have everything to very high already. Hope this helps :)
just like mine. Medium to High (check out my other video to see how High runs on these specs). You will need to reinstall with XP or add -dx9 to Crysis shortcut parameter on desktop if you stick with Vista. Go to laptopvideo2go(dot)com to get 169.09 drivers for laptop, they are great for this game.
same thing happen to me, no problem dude. For some drivers, there will be INF for you to download as well. You must copy the modded INF and replace it with the one from the Driver Download. Did I explain that well enough?
Anyway, I re-read your reply and found the INF in the downloaded Driver file, and downloaded the INF for 169.09 and re-placed it over the top and...bam!
Thanks heaps, you have been a huge help, mate.
But I do not own Crysis yet, though I'm soon getting it in the next few days.
xp or vista? but yea as long as you run in directx 9 with xp or vista with -dx9 shortcut parameter, you should get medium to high depending on the drivers.
laptopvideo2go(dot)com. 169.09 for Vista drivers are best for Crysis, highest fps. Looks great. You have better system than me, so you should be able to do High even better than I could in my HIGH video if you add -dx9 to shortcut parameter.
Probably not very well. Settings would be just about all low and lowest resolution. 8400m GS is a very weak card. Try Far Cry. It will look and perform better and is a great game. If you have to play Crysis, then yes, the 8400m GS will play it, but use the -dx9 parameter or install XP beside Vista so you see improvement in performance/frame rates.
You won't be able to do High, unless you reinstall your laptop with Windows XP and get the 169.09 drivers as seen in my other video. With Vista and 163.75 drivers you will struggle even on low, but you CAN add -dx9 to the shortcut parameter to let it be slightly slower than XP if you don't feel like reinstalling with XP. Go to laptopvideo2go(dot)com to get 169.09 drivers for vista. But I recommend just reinstalling with XP (I like XP a lot more)
If you can afford a toshiba x205 s9810 then that would be a great computer to play Crysis (especially if you reinstall with XP and get 169.09 drivers). If you get Gateway P-172 FX Edition will be better than the Toshiba x205 s9810 because of the video card. You can get them to be about the same price so the Gateway would be the best choice for you.
i want my laptop to be able to run these games, but its shit so i cant, sos shall i bother upgrading and all that or should i just stick 2 ps3/xbox 360
What are your pc specs now? Be sure you enjoy PC style games before commiting. But the way I look at it....
If I need a new computer for school and will be not super mobile, but I will be going from apartment to parents house and back every weekend. Why not instead of getting 2 desktops or 1 mobile laptop. Since I do not move a lot except on those 2 trips, I figured on a desktop replacement. Which usually has a nice video card. It depends on your person type. Plus if you are console or pc gamer.
(character limit). But Like I was saying, since I'll be getting the laptop anyway which is 1000 or so. Why not chuck out an extra 400 (no joke), to get a decent video card and better cpu + ram(ram is cheap anyway). I just get 2gb since I love XP :)
If you were going to get a new pc, then yes, get a gaming pc if you like to play games. Plus life is about fun, live it up man! :)
It's all up to you though on what you do, if you need more help, feel free!
And it's usually not best to upgrade laptops. I do for ram but that's IT!!! It was only twice, they both has only 256mb ram. I upgraded to 512 and it was insane difference!!! Could run so much more simultaneously. And warcraft 3 ran much smoother (yea it was an old one, but free).
So yea, upgrading a desktop is good if it's only one or two parts like video card or ram. But laptops are usually limited to only ram, and if you're lucky you can upgrade video card too. Hope this all helped
How did you get crysis to run on a video that is has less memory than mine. I have a 512 MB Nvidia FX 2500M and it won't let me go past the "Video Card Not Supported" screen. If this guy is running crysis on a 64 meg card, then why the f**k can't i run crysis on my computer which is 12 times better.
lilletizz is right. Plus, who said I had 64mb vram? It's 512mb. Your PC isn't 12 times better. It's not better at all based on your video card. And like lilletizz said, vram is just a small part of what to look at. Gj lilletizz btw.
I recommend you play Far Cry. Far Cry can run on many systems now a days with very high fps. It's a great game and still looks great. I enjoy the first few levels best. Love the paradise :)
meh, slight improvement(like for me it was only 4-5fps). It's not enough to warrant not having shadows however. I think it depends on the gamer, some people need the shadows while others don't. I'm one who can't live without them, and as I see, you're one who can easily live without them. The game feels rather bald without shadows, but that's my opinion.
hey can you tell me how to downgrade my hp dv9774 to xp? im really cheesed about hwo ithandles games.. low fps. and at certain areas getting aroun 10 fps O.O im running a geforce 8600m gs on it with 3 gb ram and 2.0 core duo. dunno wat to do plz help lol
What cpu you have currently and what graphics card do you currently have, I'll tell you which one is better to replace. But most likely, it'll be the graphics card, as long as your MOTHERBOARD can handle it. Be sure it has a slot for the card. I'll let you know once I see what cpu and gpu you have.
I hope that's Fahrenheit lol. Mine can probably get up to 120f, and idle may be at 100f or so. If it's Celsius you are in trouble, if it's Fahrenheit, then you have NOTHING to worry about. That is a very cool computer. Mine probably does get too hot, I could probably use an external fan or something to go underneath, but like they say "if it's not broken, why the fu*k fix it" :)
I'd recommend an 8800m gtx or even 2 in sli. Those laptops though seem to be rather on the pricey side and expensive. The HP I have is a cost effective way to have mobile Crysis. Now a days it might be $1200.
I used FRAPS to record screen. It worked great together, no crashes. Not sure if that system would run it or not, I'd suggest trying to get a notebook with minimum of 8600 gs, preferably an 8600 GT, or even higher if you can. I also suggest getting Intel processor for laptop; It's better right now. I have 8600m GS and would not want to play Crysis on anything lower. 8400m GS may run fine, but you will not be able to go to Medium(preferred setting) without experiencing some lag.
probably not. You really need an 8 series card or 2 7900gtx's. And when I say 8 series, I figure a minimum of 8600m if you want to play the game at medium settings. Low Settings looks like poop(although pretty poop). So no, get something in which you can either get the 2 7900gtx's or 2 8600m's. And I'm guessing you will get decent CPU/Ram and hopefully you play this game with XP, NOT vista. XP=racehorse, Vista=turdhorse
Depending on your OS, I'd guess 8400mGS would be fine. I'd suggest XP though to help with speed and make sure the card you get is a 8000 card and has at least 256mb VRAM. If you have vista, 8600mGS is a minimum I bet. Since I had Vista and 8600mGS and it was laggy even on Low.
Yes, on XP, it can handle High settings, 800x600, no AA, low objects, but everything else high. Just on XP though, it will lag a little, but isn't that bad. Looks great. If you want to play with zero lag, play on medium, if you can stand slight lag, play on high. This is XP only though, Vista won't do anything for you with this laptop and this game. Low would be your only option on Vista, and even with Low, you'll find lag like crazy.
i`m buying one and it comes with Vista, is difficult to install XP on this machine? i`ve read a lot of bad news about it, that said it was really difficult...please reply
nope, you just need to find first all the drivers for Pavilion dv9000, and then the nvidia drivers (on the hp site, suport drivers, and xp drivers). The only thing you will lose when downgrading to XP its the quickplay player...the people that where not able to downgrade to XP where idiots...vista sucks man!!. (sorry for my english bro)
There are many forums online with people like you and me trying to get XP on HP notebooks. Search around and you'll be able to find them. It's actually quite easy once you find the intel sata drivers to do f6 when installing windows. After that it's just finding video drivers and sound drivers, then you're pretty good to go. But also I don't know how computer savy you are, but you should be able to do it any way, plenty of help on forums/online.
1.9ghz core 2 duo? 1.9ghz Pentium 4? 1.9ghz core 2 quad? I'm going to guess you mean core 2 duo. The 1.9ghz is fine, just make sure you have good video card, ram, and preferably running Windows XP, Vista is slow at this game. Only use Vista if you have an insane system.
I'd geuss if you have same specs as me, you could get low-medium on XP. And wouldn't be able to even play it on Vista. (that's if you have my same laptop + specs)
With Dual Core, it'll run fine. Graphics is what you need though once you have anything better than Pentium 4. And also at least 1.5gb of ram. Look up minimum system requirements for Crysis and get at least that means you have low settings. Get recommended and you'll have probably medium-high a least. Hope this helps.
Is this the 32-bit OS? On my laptop(same thing you have just about), it can run OKAY on low with Vista. But on XP, it runs sweet on Medium. When you get it, you could try out Crysis on Vista, if you don't like it, try a dual boot, and just use XP for games.
Ive got this game..my system specs are good, so I presumed I can run on Medium..which it does..with slight amounts of Lag..noticable during shooting & looking down a sniper scope.
Basically Ive got Windows Vista Home Premium as my OP (I actually like Vista..so I dont realy want to change :P) 3GB RAM, Quad Core @ 2.4Ghz and a 8600GS , its a desktop..any ideas on why its running slow, I thought about upgrading the Graphics card but anyhow..
That's strange, I too would presume that your computer would run atleast medium with zero lag. I could maybe suggest you try to partition your harddrive, and so you can dual boot with XP and Vista. That way you can have Vista since you like it better than XP, then let XP be there to run your games.
XP is still much faster at running games, especially Crysis. I saw an unbelievable difference between XP and Vista when I played Crysis. It was unplayable even on Low on Vista, and yet on XP I could easily crank it up to Medium without ANY lag. So I'd suggest perhaps try a dual boot and see what happens.
Well those are both desktop video cards. If you mean 8500m GT vs 8600m GS, then the 8600m GS would probably win. Although, the 8600m GT would smoke them both. Also there are much better laptop video cards out there, especially if you run them in SLI (like 2 8800m GT's! lol, it'd pwn so much). It just depends on how much you are willing to spend, and how well you want Crysis to look.
Laptop or desktop? 8600GS is a desktop card, 8600mGS is laptop card. 8600GS (desktop) is great for Crysis though. Combined with a multi-core CPU + 2GB of ram, it'll perform great. Especially on XP, many more fps.
hp doesn't offer a 3ghz core 2 duo laptop that I know of, or at the time of me buying this laptop (about july 2007). And the graphics is really what holds it back, a better video card is what it needs. The processor and RAM is fine.
yea I wish they offered the gt, I would of gotten it. GS is okay, but GT is amazing. I can't imagine how well Crysis would play on SLI 8600GT's and a core 2 duo setup with 2gb ram on XP. I'd be in heaven haha.

What do you think about Crysis on my laptop?;
ASUS F3Sv
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs)
4gb ram
So, how do you think Crysis will run on that?
hillviewproductions 3 years ago
just like mine.
CrazyNinjaMike 3 years ago
Thanks for the reply, though I followed your advice but continue to get the error when trying to install the driver updates;
"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." - "Setup.exe"
(Thanks for the '-dx9 to Crysis shortcut parameter', since I'm sticking with Vista)

The shortcut to Crysis on your desktop. Right click it. Select properties. Change Target Property to:

nice video!!
im building a gaming laptop and i already have 3gb of Ram
but a shitty cpu and graphic card... wich one of these is more important for good "Frames per second" in games?
i dont have enough cash atm to buy both :(
thanks!
repsak14 3 years ago
What cpu you have currently and what graphics card do you currently have, I'll tell you which one is better to replace. But most likely, it'll be the graphics card, as long as your MOTHERBOARD can handle it. Be sure it has a slot for the card. I'll let you know once I see what cpu and gpu you have.

it works good on it right???
cause i have the same computer and want to buy the game but im not sure if it will work on it???

can you not just see the video and answer all your questions?
CrazyNinjaMike 3 years ago
at avg & extremes, wats your temp when running?
mine seems to strike the high 70's and scrapes 80.
Krishan 3 years ago
I hope that's Fahrenheit lol. Mine can probably get up to 120f, and idle may be at 100f or so. If it's Celsius you are in trouble, if it's Fahrenheit, then you have NOTHING to worry about. That is a very cool computer. Mine probably does get too hot, I could probably use an external fan or something to go underneath, but like they say "if it's not broken, why the fu*k fix it" :)

so what CPU r u running?
themdz111 4 years ago
It's in the description...
"intel core 2 duo 7500 2.2ghz"
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
The memory of the video card is 256 or 512 MB?
Siriusthemischiev 4 years ago
512 :)
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
I'd recommend an 8800m gtx or even 2 in sli. Those laptops though seem to be rather on the pricey side and expensive. The HP I have is a cost effective way to have mobile Crysis. Now a days it might be $1200.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
how well do you think crysis will work with my dv9700t? (2.5ghz intel t9300, 3gb ram, 512mb geforce 8600M GS)
cornmuffin1981 4 years ago
xp = medium
vista = low
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
actually maybe a bit higher. Depends on the OS and stuff. Good laptop you're getting though, especially if you get XP on it!
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
Anyway, how could you catch screen running the game? I mean if it worked OK together? No crashes?
Should I run Crysis into a HP dv6744eo (Turion 64x2 TL-60, 2 gb ram, geforce 8400 gs 256 ram)?
chilenoygordo 4 years ago
I used FRAPS to record screen. It worked great together, no crashes. Not sure if that system would run it or not, I'd suggest trying to get a notebook with minimum of 8600 gs, preferably an 8600 GT, or even higher if you can. I also suggest getting Intel processor for laptop; It's better right now. I have 8600m GS and would not want to play Crysis on anything lower. 8400m GS may run fine, but you will not be able to go to Medium(preferred setting) without experiencing some lag.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
Also note though whether you are getting XP or Vista. As XP and DX9 will run the game MUCH FASTER! The video shows the game on XP.

can crysis run on a HP Pavilion dv9730us laptop with a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M?
havoc11707 4 years ago
probably not.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
well can it run on a 8500 card? and which is the best one of those
havoc11707 4 years ago
well wat im trying to say wat is the best GPU for the price to run crysis
havoc11707 4 years ago
Depending on your OS, I'd guess 8400mGS would be fine. I'd suggest XP though to help with speed and make sure the card you get is a 8000 card and has at least 256mb VRAM. If you have vista, 8600mGS is a minimum I bet. Since I had Vista and 8600mGS and it was laggy even on Low.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
where did u buy your graphics card? and how do u know that it will wrk with a lapotp?
havoc11707 4 years ago
to emirilyasov: It runs much faster in XP than in Vista because of DX9 Vs DX10. Learn before you speak, noob.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
can that laptop handle it on high settings
duckmcduck555 4 years ago
Yes, on XP, it can handle High settings, 800x600, no AA, low objects, but everything else high. Just on XP though, it will lag a little, but isn't that bad. Looks great. If you want to play with zero lag, play on medium, if you can stand slight lag, play on high. This is XP only though, Vista won't do anything for you with this laptop and this game. Low would be your only option on Vista, and even with Low, you'll find lag like crazy.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
i`m buying one and it comes with Vista, is difficult to install XP on this machine? i`ve read a lot of bad news about it, that said it was really difficult...please reply
mainstream2822 4 years ago
nope, you just need to find first all the drivers for Pavilion dv9000, and then the nvidia drivers (on the hp site, suport drivers, and xp drivers). The only thing you will lose when downgrading to XP its the quickplay player...the people that where not able to downgrade to XP where idiots...vista sucks man!!. (sorry for my english bro)
evildairo 4 years ago
There are many forums online with people like you and me trying to get XP on HP notebooks. Search around and you'll be able to find them. It's actually quite easy once you find the intel sata drivers to do f6 when installing windows. After that it's just finding video drivers and sound drivers, then you're pretty good to go. But also I don't know how computer savy you are, but you should be able to do it any way, plenty of help on forums/online.

Holy sh*t !
I tried what you told me and it worked, i can now play crysis on high with no lag (I did have to turn down blur just a tad).
Much appreciated man, the fire fights are pretty damn intense now !

Hey how good could i run this with 1.9 Ghz? please reply
Bajayjay13 4 years ago
1.9ghz core 2 duo? 1.9ghz Pentium 4? 1.9ghz core 2 quad? I'm going to guess you mean core 2 duo. The 1.9ghz is fine, just make sure you have good video card, ram, and preferably running Windows XP, Vista is slow at this game. Only use Vista if you have an insane system.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
I'd geuss if you have same specs as me, you could get low-medium on XP. And wouldn't be able to even play it on Vista. (that's if you have my same laptop + specs)
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
actually i meant Duel core. lol sorry about that- but please give your opinion anyway
Bajayjay13 4 years ago
With Dual Core, it'll run fine. Graphics is what you need though once you have anything better than Pentium 4. And also at least 1.5gb of ram. Look up minimum system requirements for Crysis and get at least that means you have low settings. Get recommended and you'll have probably medium-high a least. Hope this helps.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
yeah thanks man- and its the 64 bit so thats a bit better
Bajayjay13 4 years ago
so tell me, i just bought a new Hp Dv9000. can i play crysis and on what settings??? :

4 GB DDR2 RAM

240 GB 5400 RPM HD (2X 120 GB)
17" 1680 X 1050
italianrobert 4 years ago
Is this the 32-bit OS? On my laptop(same thing you have just about), it can run OKAY on low with Vista. But on XP, it runs sweet on Medium. When you get it, you could try out Crysis on Vista, if you don't like it, try a dual boot, and just use XP for games.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
Ive got this game..my system specs are good, so I presumed I can run on Medium..which it does..with slight amounts of Lag..noticable during shooting & looking down a sniper scope.
Basically Ive got Windows Vista Home Premium as my OP (I actually like Vista..so I dont realy want to change :P) 3GB RAM, Quad Core @ 2.4Ghz and a 8600GS , its a desktop..any ideas on why its running slow, I thought about upgrading the Graphics card but anyhow..
CandlesInADaze 4 years ago
That's strange, I too would presume that your computer would run atleast medium with zero lag. I could maybe suggest you try to partition your harddrive, and so you can dual boot with XP and Vista. That way you can have Vista since you like it better than XP, then let XP be there to run your games.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
XP is still much faster at running games, especially Crysis. I saw an unbelievable difference between XP and Vista when I played Crysis. It was unplayable even on Low on Vista, and yet on XP I could easily crank it up to Medium without ANY lag. So I'd suggest perhaps try a dual boot and see what happens.

Which is better 8500GT or 8600GS?
MetaTalex 4 years ago
Well those are both desktop video cards. If you mean 8500m GT vs 8600m GS, then the 8600m GS would probably win. Although, the 8600m GT would smoke them both. Also there are much better laptop video cards out there, especially if you run them in SLI (like 2 8800m GT's! lol, it'd pwn so much). It just depends on how much you are willing to spend, and how well you want Crysis to look.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
Uhhhh... I'm getting a computer With 8600GS?
MetaTalex 4 years ago
Laptop or desktop? 8600GS is a desktop card, 8600mGS is laptop card. 8600GS (desktop) is great for Crysis though. Combined with a multi-core CPU + 2GB of ram, it'll perform great. Especially on XP, many more fps.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
haha....u shoulda gotten the 3 Ghz. version....so much faster.
crapperdude 4 years ago
hp doesn't offer a 3ghz core 2 duo laptop that I know of, or at the time of me buying this laptop (about july 2007). And the graphics is really what holds it back, a better video card is what it needs. The processor and RAM is fine.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
Do you know if this computer HP Pavl dv9500 has the technology MXM? To change the video card? for the better one ..?
I will have in 3 days the same one .. and not if it could change the videocard into a future. For 8800GT for example
everestforever00 4 years ago
nope, not MXM :/
stinx, but still pwns enough.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
256 MB???
everestforever00 4 years ago
Geforce 8600m GS 256mb, yep :)
It runs so nicely because of Windows XP.
CrazyNinjaMike 4 years ago
got it it's the GS fault get GT.

looks good though not bad
livingames 4 years ago
ah it sucks hp's highest graphic card for entertainment notebooks it the 8600gs not the gt
livingames 4 years ago
yea I wish they offered the gt, I would of gotten it. GS is okay, but GT is amazing. I can't imagine how well Crysis would play on SLI 8600GT's and a core 2 duo setup with 2gb ram on XP. I'd be in heaven haha.
