  • Sweet!

  • Hi, think its about 200bhp, not sure as the car has a different engine now!

  • how much power are you getting out of that engine?

  • best lanny v8 viddy on utube.

  • Seriously, this is a brilliant video! This is exactly how I drive mine! Love it!

  • Fuc*k the camera guy @ 2.07 keep your foot well planted LOL.

  • sounds amazing!!! I just cant help thinking 'oh the fuel' everytime you tap the throttle lol

  • Hi Britpart, I thought your landrover sounded so good that I've just fitted the same exhaust design to my Rover SD1. Straight through to a single back box. Sounds amazing! will post a vid soon. Thanks!

  • Absolutely fantastic great vid and great sound awesome I want one !!!!!!!!!!

  • too quiet

  • Great camera shots, looks great fun.

  • was it v8 when it was born?

  • 2:01 - 2:12 best engine sound part

  • That makes me miss my hybrid. Sounds great guys!

  • Awesome, the sound alone gives me a stiffy!

  • I love this engine, It sounds like a V8 should.

  • Lovely!!

  • V8meczka w takim lekkim wozie xD

pięknie pocina defik :) prawie jak WRC xD tylko bardziej w stylu offroadowym :)

  • hey hey gorgeous vid & amazing landie only 15 but love them :D when I'm 17 & got my driving license any idea how much it is to add me on to another owner's insurance cos me parents own two & I'd love to drive them :D not that they'd let me lol

  • I'm 17 and I drive my own Defender 110 as a 2nd driver to my dad (50/50 usage) and it costs £405 a year with the NFU. Landies for life!!!

  • yer that's not bad at all definitely tempted :) thanks

  • hey im in the same situation except my father bought me a defender 110 which we are rebuilding but tax and insurance is goin to be dificult to get

  • depends on the landy reg etc and whether your on NFU, But being farms insurance i think you need to own or work on a farm in order to get it. Fucking gay as my friend has a 2ltr golf for £400 a year because he owns a duchy farm in Somerset lol. Normally you could get it for about £1600, look at specialist insurers too, they give better discounts closer to £1000

  • im only 16 and got one for 300 quid great buy you should get one and go off roading i do with mates just get parents to tow it to a site lol

  • @ general440 yeah I'm 16 too you mean insurance for £30o or a landie? yeah I'm also not too mad on off roading yet to be honest I just love them as they're so hard wearing & fun :)

  • @SuperRudy94 i mean for the defender its a 1989 90 with a full service history at the main dealer also what a deal

  • That thing is a beast! Great video Mate!

  • Is there a better jeep than the Defender? Certainly not.

  • the defender isnt a jeep ;-)

  • @BonMache123 Mercedes G or Hummer :)

  • @BonMache123 Mercedes G or Hummer :)

  • @D0P4M1N Mercedes is just an expensive rust bucket, and hummer are badly made i have seen loads brake axles by driving over little rocks. I will take a defender any day

  • @JoshHurdissHall Mercedes G just expensive rust? Man G parts are more stronger than defenders, i would kill defender mutch faster than G :P

  • @D0P4M1N Im not saying the G is not strong, but rust when they get old is a problem and parts are so expensive people just scrap them, were as defender parts are cheap and easy to fix thats why 75% of land rovers ever made are still on the road.

  • You usually only see videos of these 4x4's in a standstill trying to overcome impossible obstacles clearly above their capabilities getting help etc. It's nice to see a video showing what these cars were meant to do, which is "drive" in the offroad :) . Very nice video!

  • That sounds great mate !! Im putting a 3.9 in my defender ...what exhaust is it running ? is it headers in to twin hot dogs then in to a single tail pipe ? I need the recipe for that note please...

  • Hi Andrew

It is a set of mild steel headers, with one tail box from a 3.9 discovery, rest of ot straight through.

Good luck and let us know what it sounds like.

    Regards

    Paul

  • amazing video. amazing sound. kickass defender :)

  • well made vid of a LR V8 at full chat.

    what springs are used?

  • Hi there, they are Britpart +2" high performance ones, with more experimant we have found that on a 'light' car like this, that is used just for racing it is best to use an early range rover spring, these are soft and also tall so give a good ride height. The yellow ones are ideal for road use and slower off road use.

  • damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • How does this setup work for higher speed stage rally type driving on smoother gravel roads? I am planning a rover for stage rally here in the states and currently wondering where to start with springs and shocks. Also how was the rear axle setup on this truck? is it running radius arms with a drop link...I have read this setup is a bit more stable at higher speeds. thanks...cool vid.

  • super génial le v 8.

  • thats awesome i had the chance at owning a 3.9 v8 out of a range rover.. perfect for a lightweight conversion.. shame i got a different car i really want one of these now!

  • Comment removed

  • Has it got uprated brakes?

  • The brakes are pretty standard, uses stainless braided hoses but standard discs and pads.

  • Cool, are they vented discs?

  • Yes they are vented with the 110" calipers. We haev now found that using an AP pad on one side of the caliper and an EBC one of on the other side gives the best pedal feel and grip. Obviously dont try this on the road!

  • ysounds like th bowler wildcat it sounds amazing and its cool car id love to own one

  • is that a 3.5 or bigger it sounds sweet

  • Its a pretty standard 3.9 efi, itsnow in a rear engined buggy and still going strong.

  • Fuck Hummers piece's of plastic shit this is a real 4x4 Land Rover's are the true off road machine!

  • Damn good effort. Very brave too! hehehe personally i would reduce the damping and rebound a bit to eliminate much of the hard "bouncing" thats happening. how many hours spent rebuiling after that may i enquire? i know the V8's require so much love to em sweet. worth it though.... one love x x

  • That is sweet!! Love the sound!

  • These babies sure take abuse for the age :) love e'm

  • il punto è che non è necessario un v8 per fare certe cose..anche un samurai può andare cosi veloce..dipende solo da chi guida

  • Beautiful Rover v8 sound. The suspension appeared to behave pretty well too!

  • molto molto molto bella questa v8... mi piace tantissimo.... prestazioni da non tutti i fuoristrada ( forse nessuno) al difuori del 4.6 v8

  • just read some comments from below...americans.....they are all the same. You THINK you are the best!..even in football in what u call soccer, your president said that you are going to win the world cup..haha.same old americans think they are the best in every subject..lol.your country is big as are ur heads...keep it up with these brilliant videos BRITPART.Land rovers forever!!!!!;)

  • hear the roaarrr from 1.50 onwards

  • hell of a driver that mr longstaff

  • ha ah us of raod ? jokin aint you u sjt use em for dailey driving ha ha over here in the uk wer specialist n i can garante that a bowler wildkat willo wn youe 4x4's anyday ? u not seen one ? u aint lived !

  • Is it my imagination or is our American friend missing the whole point of this 90??

  • Ya poor mans land rover huh? Bring your "Landy" over here to US and down in Kentucky. Let us rednecks show yall what true off road is all about. Now lets go muddin'! by the way i just own a samuri i didnt say their best but all the ones i have drove beat the crap out of a land rover any day.

  • Still waiting for you to get out of bed and post some footage of 'your truck!!'

  • mudding? wheres the skill in that? you just have a very big engine and put your foot down, theres no skill whatsoever!

  • I know thats what makes it so great! dont even need a licence! its just for testing out your vehicle seeing how deep in mud you can go before you get stuck and have somebody with skill get it out. and of course its always fun to walk in the house and have your wife gripe because you look like a walking mud pie! see that new shiny for f150? sling some mud on him! hahahah. ok now im getting mean. no matter what your driving terrain still takes skill i agree.

  • redneck scum...go rape ur sister...and learnt to buy proper cars, drive them properly and giv up with the whole instest business. your gonna have to face it black people arnt slaves, man love is legal and nascar is ...shit (top gear :))

  • 260vs807.....What the hell??? were you raised in the 60's????1860's????? about the whole incest shit look back at the old school Kindoms of europe. english for example (at least this is what we were taught) had a thing of keepin it in the family. "only pure blood is worthy of rule" crap. as whats with the thinkin were racial (still) you act like your country was never involved in the slave trade when infact England started it off! hmmm you were sayin? by the wasy im an only child. hater.

  • i didnt ask for a lecture...wot bout the useless cars u have and nascar...wow how interesting...

  • ok useless? what do you call useless? at least we dint have a sort like cricket. well....baseball would be a more beefed up version of the "sport". At least were typing so i can actually understand you. never could understand the "true" British accent or language. go have a spot of tea and quit wining about other nations sports...and i will too.

  • Mudding is for losers, you should see some of us LR guys drive.. we do terrain driving, where it actually takes skill in order to climb a hill..

  • PT0s im not reffering to skill. get that "Landy" in 5 foot of mud and stand there for ten minutes then stomp out of it...or at least try to. terrain in fun as well at least for a nice high speed cruise around the mountains. but i like to make my own trails instead of using what is alreasy there. i have owned a landy and it seems it couldnt pull that off as well as my samurai.

but of course i am reffering to the older models of these vehicles (sorry if i never pointed that out).

  • Just for the record, i drive a landy and still love samis, it just happned that my mate wanted rid of his 200TDi, i like samis, leave em alone, and BTW im not getting into teh whole argument of slaves and insest, just vouching for samis, they are alright, live axles after all huh

  • Absolutely awesome......a V8 on full song! Music to my ears!!! lets have plenty more!

  • ok and that is amazing how?? he got speed but what a bout torque? can you sink it in a lake and drive strait out? go ahead ill be there watching so i can pull you out with my Samurai.

take it through a real chaleng not a premade course. that still counts as on road.

  • it's just a film to promote their gas shocks.

and a word about those samurai's, i bended one quite badly (chassis wise) when i pulled one loose. so get something decent!

  • samurai? ha thats just a poormans land rover, wats it running, a 900cc lump?!!!

    save up for a landy.

  • poor mans land rover it maybe(personnally i dont think so!) but...... it'll still go all the places your landy can go!, for alot less money aswell. i own an sj and it regularly pisses off landy's down at slab common in bordon! shame i cant put a V8 in it tho! the noise is just awesome!

  • cabbageboyo man there is a way to put in a v8 but its gonna be messy and will probably make it not do so well besides trying to find an engine snorkle would he hard....

  • they have been done here in the UK and in the states but it costs a shed load of money! normally people cut a reange rover chassis and stick the sj body on that but i'd just the rangie personally! :-)))))

  • Realy very very good.. The Land Rover is excellent.. Good engine v8

  • excellent vid. Landy sounds awesome. What engine is in it?? U running a custom straight thru pipe?

  • Shame - the music spoils the fantastic sound of that V8!

    Otherwise a superb video.

  • this is my favorite most fav vid on here at mo! got a 3.5 efi and a series 3 with 33" tyres ready to mate! watch this space

  • Excellent video! I just bought a V8 car art poster from cartech49 dot gr. Great fun art for my garage wall!

  • Please post it again but leave out the music the sound of the V8 is enough!

  • you're a bloody good driver dude

  • have you ever considered a V8 from a TVR? that seems to be a very popular option these days. Can't wait to see the new engine in place, keep it up!

  • Wow, that car is amazing and superb driving too. This is probably my favorite 'home-filmed' off road video! You say you're developing a BMW 3.5 6-cyl what car is that engine from?? have you mistaken it for the 3.5 V8 from the 535i?

  • Glad you like it, the engine is from a 1990 BMW535 which has the 6cyl engine.

should be ready in 2-3 weeks!

  • Awesome driving!this has to be an all time favorite of mine. wish I could get the wife to trade our sedan in for the real deal. I'm really getting sick of driving the radio controled version.

  • WOW!!!!!

  • Conratulations! :)

Land Rover as a rally car, aammaazing!

Is that a tuned engine or stock? Surely fits in this car!

  • The engine is a pretty standard 3.9 V8 producing about 200BHP. We are working at present on a BMW engined one with a 3.5 6cyl engine which produces about 270BHP! Watch this space!!

  • that sound on my defender would be da bomb!!!

  • check out the sound on my discovery on my latest video with the new exhaust

  • Adrian, I could tell it was you driving before your name came up! Look forward to racing against you again - I'm planning my next motor, Love Darryl & Helen.

  • Glad you like it, careful, the desire for the V8 will creep up on you and before you know it you'll have one, its only a short time then till divorce and poverty, but at least you'll have a V8 so life will be good!!

  • Fantastice video. V8 sounds cracking. Makes me want one instead of 200tdi. cant beat V8

  • Awesome.

  • nice truck, cool video

  • Glad you like it, more of the same coming soon!!!

  • joder jajajajajajajajaja pero que guapooooooooooo
