  • i got hit by that tornado Actsully i upload this commet last year sept 17 after the tornado

  • Believe me, if there was a tornado in NYC metro area, there would have been video showing the strong *shifting* winds. Thanks for this vid.

  • It was a tornado because the winds changed directions.

  • @TJusnow Jerk,it's called a microburst. The wind spreads out in all directions with microbursts only after the initial burst hits.Tornadoes haven't touched down east of the hudson thru nyc and nassau and suffolk in decades! The ocean and sound kill the rotations in the clouds.Take some meteorology courses.

  • @fadethetrade First off I don't know you so why call me a jerk? And second i didn't realize my comment would actually offend someone(like yourself), and thirdly im actually thinking about taking a meteorology class in college when I graduate from high school, so yea if your gonna correct me do it in a much less rude manner. Have a good day.

  • @fadethetrade And regardless if its a tornado or not, its still very fascinating yet scary to see at the same time.

  • @TJusnow Well,at least you now know the facts.Gotta go and correct the other video tornado posters who also misinterpreted the phenomenon.By misinterpreting this ,you give false information to other people and they believe a microburst is a tornado. That's like saying a ferrari raced by when it was really a porsche and you post it as a ferrari!!! It's blatenly wrong. You should change your title.

  • @popas7 I would say you people got hit hard for burning God's (Allah's ) Quran!!! Allah was mad at you people. I wounder how harder next time?

  • it probly was rfd but the tornado was close. thats where you get the most rfd.

  • lightning 0:41

  • damn! that lightening was close!!!

  • Right in the middle of the storm, how sweet is that? Scary, yes but cool!! Thanks for sharing!

    5/5

  • It was a microburst downdraft wind. They could reach over 100mph

  • lol @ :40 i was scared too taping this event. we're all lucky only one fatality during this.

  • The news today said that an two tornadoes hit and one macroburst hit. The tornadoes were F0 and F1. Pretty amazing and scary.

  • @giannial1985 That two*

  • I live in Ridgewood too! It was crazy... I was definitely scared.

  • Dude, awesome vid =) loved it!!!

  • OMG!!! Great video man. I'm in MN and we had a lot of storms this year, but NOTHING like that. Awesome, thanks for sharing.

  • I'm right off Fresh Pond... store windows blown out, cars crushed... what a mess today!

  • I live on Woodward Avenue between Menahan and Bleeker Streets. My apartment had water damage because of the rain, and the TV antena fell. On Grove, there were downed trees and power lines. That shit was crazy!

  • Yes, that was a tornado, there is LOTS of damage throughout the ridgewood

  • i don't know it was or not a tornado, but it was scary!!! i was half my way home coming from my parents house when i started to see that the sky was getting darker and the winds were getting stronger. I saw lightning and I started walking faster and begging for me to make it home before it rained because i had no umbrella or a cellphone to make a phone call just in case i needed someone to pick me up. luckily i was only at the corner of my block when it started pouring.

  • 64th and woodbine destroyed trees out of the ground cant drive blocking the whole street peoples house hit with them trees on cars etc. crazy for new york doesnt matter if its not such a strong tornado i didn't believe it either when they said it on the news but i was in my car crossing a bridge while it was happening and it was hailing and when i got home there was a tree at my door step. oh yea i loved the 4 hour traffic jam i was stuck in...

  • Scary storm for sure, but this is NOT a tornado guys. Tornados don't look anything like this, and I speak from the experience of a guy born and raised his whole life in Kansas. I've seen more than one with my own eyes and been part of countless storms that produced them. These are incredibly fierce straight line winds. If it was a tornado, SOMEBODY in Brooklyn would have seen the actual funnel. Nobody did, because there was no funnel, just a bunch of blackout rain and wind.

  • I live on 68th Road between Fresh Pond and 60th Lane, next to the school. The window on my back door shatters when it came thoruhg. It was insane. I've livedi n Illinois for a year and have seen a tornado before. This was definitely it...probably just an F1, but still...it did some major damage on our block, 68th Ave, and 65th street, and out to Middle Village.

  • 0:41

Did you need new underwear? ;-)

Seriously though from the vids I have seen this looked scary as hell. I would have liked to have witnessed it though, just from inside.

  • Question for the guy who recoreded the video, are these the set of houses across the street from Fresh pond road behind the wendys?

  • if the wind is enough to knock me down and im over 200 pounds then i dont care what they say..it was a tornado im convinced after what i saw..ive never seen winds and destruction unfold in front of me like

  • Lol.. yeah, put that window up. This storm was no joke. I was dirtying why draws out here in north Flushing, trapped in my car, watching huge oak trees swaying like weeds in the wind.

    Great footage!

  • Thanks for sharing. That storm came out of nowhere , I live in Fresh Meadows and just finished uploading my view of the (tornado). Check it out.

  • I live in Maspeth, it was pretty crazy there too.

  • That was no tornado, just wind and rain. If it was a tornado it would have blown away your white trash dumpster pool you had there !!! Lolx10000 !!!!

  • i was in a tornado when i went on vacation to my aunts house in oklahoma a few years ago..this was a TORNADO i dont care what they say the sky turned green and it almost blew me down my stairs

  • @Thatuptownguy The sky turned green here..and there was no Tornado just a passing shower. Dont asume. Because the wind changed direction Im suspecting there was rotation in the storm and maybe a tornado, but as far as the video goes there isnt a tornado in it.

  • i got caught in this storm it was baaaaad almost blew me away!!!

  • "Don't mess with Mother Nature, man" hehe you said it my friend. She will always win the battles :)

  • Holy shit! It hit pretty hard! That lightning was less than 300m away! :O

  • This was a bad storm. Great lightning at 0:41

  • The winds actually changed direction, so there's a chance a funnel passed you by

  • Yes actually he should send this to his local meteorologist (National Weather Service Office). They sending crews to see if it was actually a Tornado. His video show classic signs of a tornado being close. With inflow winds feeding the storm. In the video it showed winds from right to left, then towards the camera, then from right to left, then from behind. It still doesn't mean that it was a Tornado. All that means is that it was rotating and tightening up to become a Tornado.

  • If it was a Tornado. It would be an F0. F0 tornadoes don't have the dense vapor and debris on the funnel. Usually you know the tornado is on the ground because of debris spinning on the ground. Plus this possible tornado would have been rain wrapped. F-0 Rating is 40-72 mph. This storm had rotation as the video shows.
