I'm 19 years old and I have never seen this but I've noticed that movies from before my time were wayyy scarier then the corny special effects performed from C.G.I., today in America's non-dialog films there's nothing but gore, but in the older films I see numerous details from the "Monsters" and the music is better. Also to mention, the dialog is really good, it actually produces emotional reactions when a charactor dies because you get a chance to "Meet" that person before they're doomed. :)

Ash doesn't have the best memory in the world. He most likely forgot what happened. All he remembers is driving home exhausted and slightly grungy after a weekend of being in the woods with 3 girls and one other guy, one of whom being his sister.
He probably just assumed he had a weekend of drugs and sex.

Evil Dead 2 actully starts when the Evil Force rams into Ash again. The reason behind this is becuse they had truble getting the rights for the clips from Evil Dead 1. So they just re-shot it.
think about how the first one ends. that same scene is played before he gets possessed in the second one. its a remake but also a sequal. they just got rid of some of the characters and changed the begining

I know a lot of people think that E.D 2 is a remake of the first one, really it's not. The only reason Sam Raimi shot different footage for the Opening of E.D 2 is b/c of Copyrights. Sam couldn't get the copyrights to put E.D 1 footage in the opening Segment of E.D 2. So since he couldn't get the copyrights for E.D 1, he shot different footage just so people could be up to speed on the events leading up to E.D. 2.

this is actually a rework of the first evil dead since many countries banned the video release of the first evil dead , so they remade it and toned down the gore and horror for a more dark comedy feel ,
you're somewhat correct, the beggining of the film leads you to believe that the events in the first one didn't exactly happen, however it could have simply been a type of recap of the first one until he's flying through the air. The gore and horror isn't really all that toned down in this one.
Evil Dead scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. I didn't think it was so funny. E.D 1 was more of a sick Nature in my Opinion. I felt very scared,Degusted,and sad when I watched the film. I felt Misery and pain within the Evil Dead film. E.D 2 was not scary at all, it was just freaking funny. A.O.D (E.D.3) was freaking stupid in my opinion. I hate when films start off as one thing and then they go into different Directions. E.D.1 (horror)/ E.D.2 (comedy) A.O.D (mid evil times) WTF!
"Evil Dead 2" is easily the weakest of the three "Evil Dead" films. It stretches on for so long, that it becomes boring right in the middle of the movie.
Bruce Campbell (and his character Ash) are FAR better in "Evil Dead 2", at least. If it weren't for his performance, this movie would suck.
This movie, while it has it's faults (general 80's horror movie cliches), really is great. Easily a lot better than the original (which was still very brilliant), the odd use of horror infused with comedy is what makes the film.
i like this movie a lot! i like the first one a bit more, though. I thought Army of Darkness was pretty lousy though. But everyone seems to like that one the best for some reason...

So since he couldn't get the copyrights for E.D 1, he shot different footage just so people could be up to speed on the events leading up to E.D. 2.

this is actually a rework of the first evil dead since many countries banned the video release of the first evil dead , so they remade it and toned down the gore and horror for a more dark comedy feel ,

you're somewhat correct, the beggining of the film leads you to believe that the events in the first one didn't exactly happen, however it could have simply been a type of recap of the first one until he's flying through the air. The gore and horror isn't really all that toned down in this one.

Evil Dead scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. I didn't think it was so funny. E.D 1 was more of a sick Nature in my Opinion. I felt very scared,Degusted,and sad when I watched the film. I felt Misery and pain within the Evil Dead film. E.D 2 was not scary at all, it was just freaking funny. A.O.D (E.D.3) was freaking stupid in my opinion. I hate when films start off as one thing and then they go into different Directions. E.D.1 (horror)/ E.D.2 (comedy) A.O.D (mid evil times) WTF!

"Evil Dead 2" is easily the weakest of the three "Evil Dead" films. It stretches on for so long, that it becomes boring right in the middle of the movie.
Bruce Campbell (and his character Ash) are FAR better in "Evil Dead 2", at least. If it weren't for his performance, this movie would suck.

This movie, while it has it's faults (general 80's horror movie cliches), really is great. Easily a lot better than the original (which was still very brilliant), the odd use of horror infused with comedy is what makes the film.

i like this movie a lot! i like the first one a bit more, though. I thought Army of Darkness was pretty lousy though. But everyone seems to like that one the best for some reason...

its a continuation of the story. the first ten minutes or so of Evil Dead 2 are a small recap of The Evil Dead.
