I've always noticed how throughout history everything right down to binoculars and combat knives from western armies are usually more advanced and precise whereas eastern military equipment is much more old style, but rugged and reliable. Which makes me think... How can you say one or the other is better even though it kinda depends upon your situation because both are up to different challenges.

@patrikasLTL I am not sure if anyone pointed it out, I haven't paged through all of the comments, but the Bradley has a 25 mm gun. Not 20. Not that it makes a difference really.

@patrikasLTL It isn't always about the size of the ammunition and the accuracy of the gun. Both examples are the west superior then Russia. Russians have always made things that can be produced in greater numbers and with great speed. Even though the MBT's the west have is faster then their Russian equivalents.

@patrikasLTL well those asad babils had few sorf-of succesfull missions, they destroyed atleast three because the bradleys were often used for scouting missions. and they also helped to shoot down one ah-64 :P.

@patrikasLTL and the T-90 is just a beefed up t-80. Russians have always lied about their tanks. In the 70s we were all scared to death of the t-72, and then the Gulf War comes along and look what happens.

Ever heard of a biaised info ? Put real russian tanks on M1 face, and see the result.

T72BM, T80U, T90/A defeat M829A2 rounds, are faster, lower, have more potent canon which uses HE, HEAT (tandem and trio warhead).

Moreover, if the combat take place at a range of 4 or 5km, M1 is fucked, yes it can hit the russian tank, but the APFSDS will have not enough energy to knock it, although the russian have guided missile, range of 5km, bye bye M1.

@ele90 iraqis used Monkeymodel T-72, monkeymodel cannot be compared to sovielt t-72... Monkeymodel is degraded alot and the ammo they used was Iraqis made (degraded. I did read some article of those degraded ammo had penetration only half of soviet ammo at 2000metters), Iraqis crew very poorly trained and sometimes they even used training ammo at combat :D. But anyway i belive too that Abrams wins even soviet fully upgraded T-72.
