hey - do you know a game where you play a ship and you have go to all kinds of diffrent maps getting out of the ship and run to get bullets to fire at a barrier on the main map so you will be able to get the 3 stones in the bottom ????
Sadly the game is "6128-only" and very large (uses both sides of the floppy fully). Myself i had only a 464 (and no floppy drive) so the only option was to visit a friend who has a 6128 (and owned the game too ;D ).
Well, this game is definately a "above average" game ;D Also the no of remakes of this game shows that too (last one i recall was the xbox one). The other Microprose games are all "pro wargame" with plane, ship, submarine and a lot of buttons to press (aka dull adult entertainment), Pirates tho is much more a action game, even tho it is still a wargame and the game is very userfriendly "menu" style and the game can be played without ever looking in the manual.
There are several game endings. Easy to retire as a poor unknown lowrank person of cause. Best ending is if you have gained a high rank for taking over some cities, rescued your sister, married the gov's daughter and finally captured the spanish silver fleet (lots of gold). Dont forget that even tho you have a tonne of gold in the end you will have to share the gold with your men. So to get a "good" share you will have to what any good Pirate captain does .. kill of most of the crew ;D
Yeah, THE game that put my CPC6128 to a 16bit standard (sort of...) lol.
