I remember this commercial well. Corey was so cute as a little guy, and the surprise on his face when he saw Santa was priceless. Thanks for posting this. Great memory.
People are responsible for their own lives. If you're fat it's cause you chose to eat too many calories and exercise too little. Don't blame anyone else. If there's a medical issue, that's a different story, but people need to start being responsible for their own actions. LOVED those gift certificates!
@TIMMF65 Sure was.Amazing right? I knew that was him.My mom thinks he's a good actor,so she has all his movies, and I can't belive I reconised him.The first movie I ever saw of his was the Goonies. He was always my favorite chartacter ever since I was his age in this commercial.I wish I was born in the 80's.It looked like a fun time to be a kid.Sadly,I was born like two years before 2000.
You younger people need to understand: back in the day, for Seventies Kids, a McDonald's gift certificate booklet was one of the BEST presents a kid could receive. It may sound funny to you, but it's true.
Awww. That's a 3 year old Corey Feldman. I really missed these commercials. Back then the big mac's were bigger and cheaper than today's. Today, the meat is as big as a slice of Kraft's American Cheese. Pup "N" Taco and Carl's Jr was our families poison. LOl.
people come on its a cute christmas commerercial stop looking into things too deeply and enjoy life like we did in 1975 remember the feeling of being a kid around christmas time i would love that high then any drug out there yes those christmas were great but you people im going to make this christmas beautilful also so come on people grab some egg nogg and sit by the fire and just enjoy your self charish the things u have today merry christmas and a happy new year to all hohohohohoh
@wsmith4 I'll grant you that the "I'm Loving It" jingle sounds like their advertising department slapped that one together, but McDonald's doesn't have white people in their commercials today?

You know, as I look at these old 1970s commercials on youtube, I realize how fun, creative, imaginative, colorful, humorous, etc, these advertisements from that particular decade was. I look at commercials of the 1960s too and, with a few exceptions, they're downright boring. Commercials from the 1950s are fun and nostalgic, sure. I like them ok. Early 80s still had fun, good, creative commercials. But by the late 1980s that was gone. The tv commercials of the 1970s really stand out creatively.

i wonder if Corey even remembers doing this commercial. I wonder if that milk was warm and sour, lol
The cookies had to have been stale by the time santa got there. And if santa today got a 50 cent GC , he wouldnt say Ho Ho Ho, he would say "youre a cheap MoFo", hehe
Ah memories. I remember this commercial VERY well (I was 6 years old in 1975). Although my family was too poor around that time to afford to eat out at places like McDonalds, somehow I occasionally managed to get my hands on some of those gift certificates. Some people in the neighborhood were giving them out at halloween time to trick or treaters like me. That was one way I managed to get those certificates (for free), and boy did I enjoy turning them in for burgers, fries, sodas and milkshakes
Same for me.....I remember it was such a treat to get a gift certificate! And this commercial brings a lil tears to my eyes...b/c even though we didnt have it like that....Christmas was still special...b/c I was around family. Seeing this makes me wish I was little again. I was about 6 when this aired...but it aired for a few yrs. form what I remember...
"I was about 6 when this aired...but it aired for a few yrs. form what I remember..."
Yeah, I believe you are correct. My memory is a bit hazy, but I believe I too remember these mcdonalds gift certificate commercials playing a few extra years following 1975.
Great commercial...there was another one that I use to love. It was with Ronald sneaking around the house and putting gift certificates into Hamburglars and Grimaces stockings. Anyone recall that one?
@DanIN72 That's because there was no global market out there top deflate the dollar and because America had enough sense to mind its own business because we were busy fighting the Commies in the Cold War...
