Its tough to say who is better because Navarro and Frusciante play completely different styles. For kickass rock Dave might be better. For progressive playing and creativeness Frusciante could be your guy. Neither is better than the other, just different.

Navarro didn't do much for the Chili Peppers. There were some half-decent songs on 'One Hot Minute', but ultimately this band probably would have been nothing if Frusciante had never join the up.

Navarro has a more polished guitar tone and uses more overdrive. John is a bit more in-your-face, jangly, and typically uses less overdrive. John fits the peppers perfectly, but I still like Navarro as a guitar player and enjoy listening to him playing these tunes.

i know, frusciante's very good, i just think navarro is better, but thats just a personal opinion. im glad that frusciante joined the band again though, because even though dave has serious skills, he wasnt fitting in as naturally as frusciante was.

for the record, im sure people are going to throw stones at me for saying that i think navarro's better, but oh well. rhcp still kicks major ass.

LH: G-string hammers and pulloffs: H4 - H2 - P0 - H4 - H2 - P0 repeat as fast and consistantly as possible.

RH: slide side of palm lightly down the strings starting from where the middle pickup of a strat type guitar is to about the 12th fret. You'll hear the trickle down harmonics jump out at you best using distortion with the lead pickup selected. Try this on the D-string as well although I think it works best on the G. \\m//

@utyo yo, you do a trill on a string, like on the g string, you hammer on pull off 4-2-0- constantly while at the same time slowly bringing your picking hand up the strings(while placing the side of your right hand lightly on the strings near the pickups)
