sometimes when i start my ds the song it does sounds like a chime instead.

The original DS phats colors also output different sounds when playing Mario Kart.I guess it's due to the internal firmware of the DS that make the sound change.

Mine makes both voices when I use action replay. the less cheats i use it says (Kart sound) and then yahoo. then I add a few more cheats then it says here we go and then even more cheats it makes a different kart sound then here we go. WEIRD.

I guess that there's an internal register that games can read to see if the system is a DS Phat or a DS Lite. It should probably be used for controller configuration screens, I think. Oddly Mario Kart displays a DS Phat picture in the Emblem Editor.

I noticed this like weeks ago when i played this game on an emulator, i heard mario saying "yahoo!" and i was like WTF?!... i thought the rom was like hacked or something #LOL <== (hehe first time using this sheet xD... [-.-])

on mine, after mario says here we go, the top screen shows mario and his kart, the side facing us.. and with his arms up, and the characters not in the background...

maybe cuz my ds lite and game card is australia...

Actually, the reason why the title screen is like that is because I beat the game and I got all the characters and cars. And also it is because I beat 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and mirror mode. One you beat 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and mirror mode you will get a title screen like that.

and on the DS Lite Mario says here we go.
