  • Great video, i like your enthusiasm and I completely agree with everything you said, i get the same dumb questions from people all the time. You hit that subject dead on!

My dogs get the same treatment check out my video.

  • #1) Your dog has BEAUTIFUL teeth! Probably due to eating raw.

#2) worms can actually come more from commercial kibble as bugs live in it.

#3) A lot of people are dumb and never like to look things up.

#4) I never understood why in the hell commercial dog food has veggies and rice in it now. Like the canned stuff. Dogs CAN'T digest it! ?????

I'm about to start working on switching my ferret to a raw-whole prey diet. I'm excited!

  • I love your rants, CalicoFeathers. They're usually pretty funny and this one in particular actually made sense. It's fun to watch you pound bum-brains!

Sidenote: I have a greyhound, which have super-sensitive digestion, and we fed her raw chicken with bones for months with her being fine. Sadly, we can't afford it anymore.

  • have you found that roo has a better immune system now? like no flea issues especially?. i have not seen fleas this year. she had them when i first started raw. hopefully the raw diet got rid of them. but i ordered flea treats just in case.lol which are 100 natural, vit b pills

  • @cherryberryblossom She absolutely has a better immune system. :D Though I've still had a problem with fleas, but I came to find out that our dogs were sneaking ferret kibble when we weren't looking. Plus the fleas here are BEASTLY! I'm still trying to adjust their diets to fit them, so I'm pretty confident they'll be immune to fleas in the coming years.

Not having fleas is a very common side effect of raw. :)

  • @CalicoFeathers i hope so, i don't ever want to see another flea again. do you use DE in your house? it is great for fleas

  • @Calicofeathers so would you recommend me putting my dogs on a raw diet?

  • @samuriasam0 For my dogs, the raw diet is by far the best thing to ever happen to them. Their breath doesn't stink.Their coat is shiny and not oily at all. They're more energetic and happier.

I think you should definitely do a lot of research on it. This would be a big step for your dogs. Google S.A.D. Dog Sushi and check out their info.

  • Im now thinking of putting my doggies on a raw diet :/ hmmm... What brands of meat do you buy? And is it more expensive or less expensive then the kibble stuff i use now?

  • @samuriasam0 I just buy the cheapest human-grade meat available. Which usually means Foster Farms or Walmart brand chicken. Beef and other meats (lamb, goat, whatever else you can find), should be used also for variety.

For me it's a lot cheaper because chicken around here is less than a dollar a pound. Which equates to a dollar a day for my dog.

  • we feed ours Iams premium kibble, some kibbles contain 'meat meal' (AKA ground up euthanized animals from shelters, plastic bags, collars, euthanasia chemicals and all, btw that's slowly killing them) my mom won't feed our raw though, to many animals get sick from that

  • @KittyTheNinja Actually it's nearly impossible for your animals to get sick on a SAD (species appropriate diet). Even the FDA announced a while back that salmonella is of no threat to dogs. The only animals that get sick are ones with prior conditions (of which there are very few; raw actually fixes almost all allergies, too). Just so long as you don't cook any of it and have good variety you're good. :D

  • @karpetshark Rice is a no no. I don't know why there are people who think it's good for dogs, but it's not at all. In a natural environment, dogs wouldn't get that level of carbohydrates from anything. So no rice. Evarrrr. Just meat. Maybe the occasional apple or pumpkin/squash mash.

  • @karpetshark Rice isn't needed. Rice just gets pooped out. You can look at the websites the naturally healthy dog.com and healthy dog for life.com. They also have videos on here. The post thing wouldn't let me properly type in the websites. Sorry.

  • Yeah, we started raw meat a few weeks ago. My dogs think they died and went to Heaven.

  • @godsfiddler I'm getting that stuff as well. Some people are fine, even intrigued and very interested in what we're doing, but others act like I'm trying to kill my dogs. Oh, well.

  • @godsfiddler Yeah, raw meat is actually a natural worm preventative for the most part.

  • @godsfiddler Tell them how their dogs kill birds in their backyards eat them, and the kibble owners never know, so they are allowing THEIR dogs to contract all these diseases, worms, etc...haha.

  • @godsfiddler Respond to this video...Yeah, I spend $20 a month for meat for two dogs. That means $10 a month for each dog. I think that's just as cheap as, or even cheaper than, grocery store kibble.

  • I wish I was your dog!

I agree with everything you said.
