  • Good, I like that you share this video, I wish success always discusses the need for a vector field, plus presents many examples

  • great video.

  • We had that lesson once. Now it's clearer to me because of this video.

  • You are wonderful thank you for posting this lecture for the world to see! There's hope for me yet! If I knew where you were I would send you a BIG bouquet of flowers :)

  • i don't understand the notation of vectors. a vector is written with an arrow above the lettre. the notation used here is very strange, i've never seen it before (i studied math in belgium at the university of leuven)

  • @slimmerikje I've always used a+jb, such as 5-j*5 as rectangular and x at an angle of theta such as 5 at an angle of 43 degrees.

  • @fingerboy18

I'm talking about the notation of a vector like he's doing at 12.09

  • @slimmerikje There are a few different ways of representing vectors. One way is using an arrow (like you say); another is using bold face letters, however, this is not possible with pen and paper, so many use a tilde under the letter to represent a vector. You may also like to know that I visited UCL in Louvain le Neuve several years ago where I presented some mathematical seminars. Nice place!

  • Thanks UNSW & Dr Tisdell! Was great as a refresher course. The students in the class seemed a bit juvenile with their catcalls ..hehehe.

  • I wish I had a calculus teacher like Dr Tisdell, or even better a PRIVATE teacher like Dr Tisdell.

  • You are a noble man Dr. Tisdell, thanks to you and all the people who make videos such as possible.

  • Great teacher!

  • VIRGIN BLUE

  • This was great help. Thanks a lot!

  • Ah I feel like I was scammed by the Uni. They should instructed my lecturer to explain vector field in this way 2 years ago.

  • thank you so much

  • i have a transport phenomena course right now, this is a good resource material for my review on vector calculus

  • on friday i have an exam and god i wish i had discovered this a week ago..

  • I am in MATH2011 and can tell you that this is an amazing resource.

This lecture in particular adds much needed context to the coursework, thank you very much Dr Tisdell for providing it freely.

I hope that you continue to upload such useful material.
