LOL poepple dosent what they are talking about.... Arsene Lupin was create in france by Marice Leblanc to compare whit Sherlock Holmes... Sherlock homes is really older than Lupin....But Lupin still the best..

im sorry i read all of holmes novels....where does lupin appear? unless you speak of the game sherlock holmes vs arsene lupin.....i sincerely hope not :)
@Ustasescu Sherlock Holmes first appeared in 1887, Arsene Lupin first appeared in 1905 and it was Maurice LeBlanc who took Sherlock Holmes to use it in the Arsene Lupin Books. Arsene Lupin dosen't appear in any of the Sherlock Holmes books but Sherlock Holmes appears in atleast three Arsene Lupin Books.
i only saw the first 30 minutes or less...but i could see how funny it is!!!!!the way he was stealing necklesses and rings....it was so.....hilarious!!:)):))
wow what a really lame trailer. i've got the orginal french one and it's AWESOME comparitively this is .... hopeless. trust me, the film is A LOT better than this trailer makes it seem to be.
Romain Duris. I don't care how bad this movie might be or how much it will fuck with the awesomeness that is Nighthood in my mind... I will watch this for Duris. Seriously.
Oh wow, I am so slow. I've heard about Lupin the 3rd, but I thought that was just titled so because it was the third in a sequal about the same Lupin. Actually, now that I think about it, it would be common sense to know all these movies, animes, and spinoffs don't center around one Arsene Lupin.
@MondeTriste1 They are all based on the Original Arsene Lupin books series by Maurice LeBlanc. The Character of Arsene Lupin is over 102 years old. The book series is very good, it even got a canonical Crossover with Sherlock Holmes.

wow, dude, lame. you're lamer than lame, you're the lamest of lame. that's like saying we need superman to fight the obesity problem in america. thats like saying that we need frakkin' wonder woman to talk to women about tampons. I'm never using the internet again.
... Okay, now I'm stuck in the awkward position of fangirling over both a grandfather and a grandson. God help me if Lupin II is just as cool, or it'll be a badass hat-trick and I'll be doomed.
wow they put together the first and last lupin adventures: la comptesse de cagliostro and la cagliostro se venge. Great books i wonder what the movie is like.

It's not anymore in the cinemas, you can find it on DVD. But read the books about Arsène Lupin, they are better than the movie! I think you can find an English translation. The author is Maurice Leblanc, I recommend all his books!
I'm very funny ? I'm not sure this is said as a compliment... I speak too much ? Yeah, right. I admit I really did here, but usually I adapt, function of the guy in front of me. I'll remember it for future reference, promise ! ;) PS : What is FCE ???
Salamina... Yeah, sure, I've been stupid. I forgot but now you say it it does seriously ring a bell ! ^^ Sorry about that, I should have thought of it, all the more having BEEN to Greece ! ;) (That's really a country to go to by the way, it's breathtaking in so many ways !!! ^^ :-))
This is getting really annoying... ^^ I try to put "answer" and it doesn't want to be put in the right place. First time such a thing happens to me ^^
Euh... ^^ I'm perfectly calm, thanks. Getting at each other's heads for such a thing would be ridiculous anyway. Personnally I daresay I love both, but it is true I might have a softer side for Lupin. And before you say it, not because he's French, but because of his entertaining personnality. I admire Holmes, I'm not sure I LIKE him, he's always so cold !!! Yeah, I guess I always write a lot... I love writing. Why, is that a problem ???
Thanks for that ! ;) No, it isn't, I'm french, not an asian girl ! ^^ My "real" name is Célia. In English it is simply said "Celia". (I only said this because each english personn I ever met asked me how to pronounce it but it's difficult by writing it... ^^) Why, is Salaminafe really your name ? :-)
My real name is Jim and I am Greek. Salamina is a Greek island. You are very funny and you speak too much. Forgive me but my English aren't as good as yours. I only possess FCE......!!!!!
. Well, I'd say they're pretty equals personally. As Lupin so beautifully says : They can respect each other, even admire each other and sometimes grasp hands, but in the end they will always be Arsène Lupin the gentleman burglar and "Herlock Sholmès" (^^) the detective. That's a bit of a sad statement in my opinion actually, cause I love the parts when they're defying each other ! ^^
. Second encounter, Holmes manages to understand who robbed and killed, but by doing so he destroys a family and it's Lupin who appears as the good guy in the end, though he didn't exactly choose the good method to stop him from investigating by provocating him like he did. Third encounter (and I think last but there I can perfectly be mistaken) : With Beautrelet, when Holmes kills the woman he loves while triyng to kill HIM and he almost strangles him to death before leaving.
Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear on this one ! ^^ It's at the end of THE known book of Lupin but I really don't know how to translate it... I'd say "The hollow needle" but I'm not sure of it. In the last pages Lupin let the needle be discovered and taken and takes off with Beautrelet and Raymonde de Saint-Véran, the woman who almost killed him at the start of the book.
Once arrived at the cottage where he had planned to live with her he there finds Holmes who holds hostage the old woman with whom he grew up, Victoire if I remember her name correctly. They have a fight and when Holmes fires at Lupin he ducks but anyway Raymonde flings herself between them and she takes the bullet. So technically he killed her even though I agree it was an accident and he never wanted this.
. I'm not even sure he really wanted Lupin dead, they seem to both go mad at that moment and Lupin tries to strangle him after that and he doesn't even defend himself. And the book ends when he's taking her corpse towards the cliff. That's why after this book everyone thinks he's dead, at least as the gentleman-burglar...and at least before he reappears, not as himself straightaway though. Well, I daresay I'll stop there... ^^ Sorry for the lenght of this...
I'm french and I'm a girl but that doesn't mean I'll stand for Lupin, as much as I love him I also love Sherlock Holmes, right behind. But actually Lysiam was right : First encounter : Holmes manages to recover the blue diamond but not to arrest Lupin, and both things were in the terms of their little artist challenge.
aRSENE Lupin was defeated by Shrlock Holmes in "Sherlock Holmes vs Arsene Lupin". An excellent game where the French Masterthief is defeated by the famous English detective! The amazing Sherlock Holmes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nighthood is about his son, Arsene Lupin the 2nd, since it's set in the 1930s, this is set in the 1890s turn of the century.
they should make 2 Sequels to this about his son (Nighthood) and about his grandson (Lupin the 3rd)

I wanted to be a thief like him,but now I am an ordinary university student looking for a job...
I think people needs a hero like Arsène Lupin in such a time of ecnomic crisis.
Lupin never forgive executives of AIG for taking taxpayer's money as bonus.
