  • I like it with my wife Eva Green.

  • Arsene Lupin vs Sherlock Holmes vs Batman. Make it happen.

  • OMG why have i not seen this movie yet. It looks brilliant.

  • From This trailer is not what I expected from Sherlock Holmes's Arsene Lupin

  • where I can watch this movie with english sub? =/

  • i definitely see robert downey jr more as a lupin rather than a sherlock holmes

  • @TheAniman5000

I think he did good as Holmes, but I could see him being Lupin just as easily. I think that's the genius if RDJ.

  • awesome trailer, but they practically give you the whole movie

  • Waiting Aresene Lupin II --- with this cast ... ohhhhh

  • @henrindreca and next is Lupin Ⅲ

  • Eva green <33333 amazing.. french, german, fucking perfect english accent... like, is it possible ?

  • good french cinema is sexy

  • way to much "suspense" music. it comes off like a typical hollywood trashmovie with this music in the backround. it should be more classic. well concerning the trailer. I'm gonna watch the movie now, and I think it will be better than the trailer shows :P

  • @hidoko12 and?

  • @hidoko12 the music is all in the movie, but it's used pretty tastefully, compared with the trailer

  • I read all the books, but i haven't seen the movie, i'm too scared of being disappointed

  • where i can find this movie !!! please someone tell me

  • @domminat0r1 netflix

  • @JohnFLupin I can't find it on netflix...

  • @aquahot Maybe it's available on DVD or Blu-ray over at amazon fr?

  • My favourite movie...

  • C'est tout l'histoire qui est dans la band annonce! plus besoin de regarder le film!

  • I wouldn't have been interested in Arsene Lupin had it not been for the Kaito Kid. How pathetic is that? XD

  • LOL poepple dosent what they are talking about.... Arsene Lupin was create in france by Marice Leblanc to compare whit Sherlock Holmes... Sherlock homes is really older than Lupin....But Lupin still the best..

  • Lupin the fiiiiiirst!

  • it is interesting that evyry nation has some HERO....... who helped poor people and fought with bad aristocrates......... France has Arsene Lupin, England has Robin Hood, Slovak has Janošík.........

  • @mirecek0210 wasn't Janosik Pole?

  • @MaisonLafitte noooo!!!!! he was SLOVAK!!!!!! i cannot belive!!!! you thought that Juraj Jánošík was pole???? remember that Jánošík was SLOVAK he is SLOVAK!!!!

  • @mirecek0210 ok. dont be so angry with me :) we had in Poland TV series about Janosik, besides he is not so popular as Robin Hood :P

  • @MaisonLafitte you are pole?????

  • @mirecek0210 Yes I am. :) sorry that I was thinking that Janosik was also Pole, now I know the truth :P

  • @MaisonLafitte i am really happy that you know truth now!!+)+) and did you see !slovak! film Jánošík- pravdivá história?

  • @mirecek0210 Yes, I did :) Janosik- Prawdziwa Historia from A. Holland and I enjoy watching it :)

  • @MaisonLafitte it is good filmxDxD............but i dont like that czech actor played Janosik.............OMD.......slovakia has also great actors......noo? xPP.....and do you understand slovak language???

  • @mirecek0210 I never learn slovak language but I understand a little bit. When I visit your country I speak poland language, people speak slovak language and we can communicate pretty well :) when I was in Petersburg it was the same situation :)

  • @MaisonLafitte yes......we Slavs understand our language........xDxD.....it is very nice..xDxDxD......we are like brothers+D+D...........ja to naozaj peknexDxDxD

  • @mirecek0210 hmm and what is Germany's ? i dont really think you can call hitler a hero xD

  • @hidoko12 i do not know any good hitler's property :)....we are learning about him as a tyran but maybe he was the hero of nazism :D

  • what i know is lupin III anime :D

  • The author is Maurice Leblanc. I got most of the books. Very good.

  • dobar je film do kraja

  • nope lupin and sherlock holmes are from 2 different author

  • yeup, you're right. It seams sir doyle took lupin charachter from another author... lupin is older.

  • im sorry i read all of holmes novels....where does lupin appear? unless you speak of the game sherlock holmes vs arsene lupin.....i sincerely hope not :)

  • @Ustasescu Sherlock Holmes first appeared in 1887, Arsene Lupin first appeared in 1905 and it was Maurice LeBlanc who took Sherlock Holmes to use it in the Arsene Lupin Books. Arsene Lupin dosen't appear in any of the Sherlock Holmes books but Sherlock Holmes appears in atleast three Arsene Lupin Books.

  • I really want to see this movie!

  • i only saw the first 30 minutes or less...but i could see how funny it is!!!!!the way he was stealing necklesses and rings....it was so.....hilarious!!:)):))

  • Then it starts getting more dramatic-kind.

  • I believe the cut-n-paste character was in fact named Herlock Sholmes.

  • Well, yes and no. It was originally Sherlock Holmes but he had to alter the name to avoid copyrights.

  • wow what a really lame trailer. i've got the orginal french one and it's AWESOME comparitively this is .... hopeless. trust me, the film is A LOT better than this trailer makes it seem to be.

  • Romain Duris. I don't care how bad this movie might be or how much it will fuck with the awesomeness that is Nighthood in my mind... I will watch this for Duris. Seriously.

  • It's actually pretty damned good, despite the REALLY lame trailer.

  • Nighthood is about his son, Arsene Lupin the 2nd, since it's set in the 1930s, this is set in the 1890s turn of the century.

they should make 2 Sequels to this about his son (Nighthood) and about his grandson (Lupin the 3rd)

  • Oh wow, I am so slow. I've heard about Lupin the 3rd, but I thought that was just titled so because it was the third in a sequal about the same Lupin. Actually, now that I think about it, it would be common sense to know all these movies, animes, and spinoffs don't center around one Arsene Lupin.

  • @MondeTriste1 They are all based on the Original Arsene Lupin books series by Maurice LeBlanc. The Character of Arsene Lupin is over 102 years old. The book series is very good, it even got a canonical Crossover with Sherlock Holmes.

  • not :P

  • Didn't agree.

  • i can't buy the film :( nowhere sells it!

  • Comment removed

  • i read all the books,

and this is so not how i imangined him to be like. :S

  • i read this, and i was like OMG SAME, and than i realised i said it myself.. ¬¬

  • @graffitiMANZ agree, the actor definitely captured part of him. But he's like a monkey.

  • Arsène Lupin has been my hero since I met him for the first time when I was pupil in primary school.

I wanted to be a thief like him,but now I am an ordinary university student looking for a job...

I think people needs a hero like Arsène Lupin in such a time of ecnomic crisis.

Lupin never forgive executives of AIG for taking taxpayer's money as bonus.

  • cool

  • i saw this film..it's great..

  • can someone please tell me what is the movie rated?

  • Do people actually care about movie rates?

  • enit lol!

  • ... Okay, now I'm stuck in the awkward position of fangirling over both a grandfather and a grandson. God help me if Lupin II is just as cool, or it'll be a badass hat-trick and I'll be doomed.

  • And I am a Lupin III fangirl, heheheh. ^^

  • je ss folle de ce gars ! g regardé ce film o moin trente foi ! il é magnifik, il vole avc une telle...

  • wah i wanna watch or read the novel lar

    hehe

  • wow they put together the first and last lupin adventures: la comptesse de cagliostro and la cagliostro se venge. Great books i wonder what the movie is like.

  • An interesting fellow he is. However his grandson I think has surpassed him. A much bigger goofball and is currently residing in Japan. :D

  • J'ai le livre arsene lupin - l'aiguille creuse

    pourtant c'est tres plate

I have the book by arsene lupin - l<aiguille creuse , its boring though

  • a me il film è piaciuto e poi secondo me l'attore ha talento...

  • a me il film è piaciuto e poi secondo me l'attore ha talento...

  • This movie is sooo bad, just watched it yesterday and found it was poorly acted, but worse of all the action just keeps changing place and purpose without warning, it's so iritating!

  • Is this out in the cinemas or on DVD yet?

Ce film, il est arrivé aux cinémas ou en DVD encore?

  • It's not anymore in the cinemas, you can find it on DVD. But read the books about Arsène Lupin, they are better than the movie! I think you can find an English translation. The author is Maurice Leblanc, I recommend all his books!

  • merci pour ton information!

    thanks for the info!

  • I'm very funny ? I'm not sure this is said as a compliment... I speak too much ? Yeah, right. I admit I really did here, but usually I adapt, function of the guy in front of me. I'll remember it for future reference, promise ! ;) PS : What is FCE ???

  • FCE is a degree before proficiency. Any more questions???

  • Fiou, didn't realise I bothered you THAT much ^^

  • of course not. I just asked if you want to ask me something else. You misundertood me..!!!

  • Salamina... Yeah, sure, I've been stupid. I forgot but now you say it it does seriously ring a bell ! ^^ Sorry about that, I should have thought of it, all the more having BEEN to Greece ! ;) (That's really a country to go to by the way, it's breathtaking in so many ways !!! ^^ :-))

  • Arsene Lupin is bautiful man

  • çok süper bi film ya.. ama o büyücü kadına gıcık oldum...:D

  • the film is cool!

  • This is getting really annoying... ^^ I try to put "answer" and it doesn't want to be put in the right place. First time such a thing happens to me ^^

  • Hey, relax! I like Sherlock Holmes but you prefer Arsene Lupin! That's OK. We just say our opinion. You are always writting a whole article!!!

  • Euh... ^^ I'm perfectly calm, thanks. Getting at each other's heads for such a thing would be ridiculous anyway. Personnally I daresay I love both, but it is true I might have a softer side for Lupin. And before you say it, not because he's French, but because of his entertaining personnality. I admire Holmes, I'm not sure I LIKE him, he's always so cold !!! Yeah, I guess I always write a lot... I love writing. Why, is that a problem ???

  • Of course not... Sayaka is your name?

  • Thanks for that ! ;) No, it isn't, I'm french, not an asian girl ! ^^ My "real" name is Célia. In English it is simply said "Celia". (I only said this because each english personn I ever met asked me how to pronounce it but it's difficult by writing it... ^^) Why, is Salaminafe really your name ? :-)

  • My real name is Jim and I am Greek. Salamina is a Greek island. You are very funny and you speak too much. Forgive me but my English aren't as good as yours. I only possess FCE......!!!!!

  • I am Salaminafe in my friend's computer. What's up?

  • "I've ever met", sorry. (Scuse me, I just can't stand it when I let stupid errors like this behind me ^^)

  • Ok, I'm sorry about this mess with the coms...

  • . Well, I'd say they're pretty equals personally. As Lupin so beautifully says : They can respect each other, even admire each other and sometimes grasp hands, but in the end they will always be Arsène Lupin the gentleman burglar and "Herlock Sholmès" (^^) the detective. That's a bit of a sad statement in my opinion actually, cause I love the parts when they're defying each other ! ^^

  • . Second encounter, Holmes manages to understand who robbed and killed, but by doing so he destroys a family and it's Lupin who appears as the good guy in the end, though he didn't exactly choose the good method to stop him from investigating by provocating him like he did. Third encounter (and I think last but there I can perfectly be mistaken) : With Beautrelet, when Holmes kills the woman he loves while triyng to kill HIM and he almost strangles him to death before leaving.

  • When did Holmes kill the woman who loves?

  • Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear on this one ! ^^ It's at the end of THE known book of Lupin but I really don't know how to translate it... I'd say "The hollow needle" but I'm not sure of it. In the last pages Lupin let the needle be discovered and taken and takes off with Beautrelet and Raymonde de Saint-Véran, the woman who almost killed him at the start of the book.

  • Once arrived at the cottage where he had planned to live with her he there finds Holmes who holds hostage the old woman with whom he grew up, Victoire if I remember her name correctly. They have a fight and when Holmes fires at Lupin he ducks but anyway Raymonde flings herself between them and she takes the bullet. So technically he killed her even though I agree it was an accident and he never wanted this.

  • . I'm not even sure he really wanted Lupin dead, they seem to both go mad at that moment and Lupin tries to strangle him after that and he doesn't even defend himself. And the book ends when he's taking her corpse towards the cliff. That's why after this book everyone thinks he's dead, at least as the gentleman-burglar...and at least before he reappears, not as himself straightaway though. Well, I daresay I'll stop there... ^^ Sorry for the lenght of this...

  • I'm french and I'm a girl but that doesn't mean I'll stand for Lupin, as much as I love him I also love Sherlock Holmes, right behind. But actually Lysiam was right : First encounter : Holmes manages to recover the blue diamond but not to arrest Lupin, and both things were in the terms of their little artist challenge.

  • i can't find this movie anywhere

  • Es una de las mejores películas de la historia. Me encanta. Magnífica.

  • Arsene Lupin <3

  • aRSENE Lupin was defeated by Shrlock Holmes in "Sherlock Holmes vs Arsene Lupin". An excellent game where the French Masterthief is defeated by the famous English detective! The amazing Sherlock Holmes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • But in reality you can't compare the two of them and the reason would be to long to explain now

  • Are you French? Man or Woman?

  • Sorry I wanted to put all of this here but I didn't pay attention enough ^^

  • Sorry I wanted to put all of this here but I guess I wasn't paying attention enough ! ^^
