  • the locrian mode can be used against a min7b5 chord and you could use it in a progression like Dmin7b5 to G7#9 resolve to Cmin. Over the G7#9 could use a diminished whole tone scale, so the run over the Dmin7b5 & G7#9 would look like this:

    D Eb F G Ab Bb C D (locrian) - G Ab Bb B C# D# F G (diminished whole tone)

  • I think you should really clean up the tone. But otherwise very helpful lesson

  • Cool headstock! Also nice lesson, the locrian is a bitch to get your head around :/

  • PARKER! I have a p-42, and a p-42 pro.

  • I have nothing against the Parker Nightfly but it could be better for viewers that you use a fretboard with some kind of markers on it which would make it easier for us to keep track of what you're doing visually ;-|

  • What do you use for that tone? It's pretty tight.

  • @Eliasoz he probably has a Dimarzio Custom Wound in his guitar. This thing sounds very thight and gives you a sharp attack. My tach has this in his Parker Fly Deluxe, and it sounds like a razorblade.

  • @DarkRattlehead Okay, what's a "tach"? And what is a Dimarzio Custom Wound and should I put that on my Squire M80? Cause I want it!

  • @Eliasoz I meant my teach (it was late in the evening ^^). As for Dimarzio, it's a company that makes (good) pickups, Custom wound is the name of the model. Check their website.

If you're sure you want that sound and taht you want to mod your guitar, go for it.

  • Man what are you talking about ? what are the purposes ? of these things? minor 2nd or 3rd ? it doesn't really matter ? does it ?

  • its basically the Bb Maj scale with a different root

  • great lesson. well explained:D buuut! be careful of mixing beginner theory and intermediate theory

  • What kind of guitar is that? The headstock looks like a non-reversed Blackmachine headstock, which looks amazing!
