  • Yes Barry McGuire... but don't forget the composer... P. F. Sloan who also recorded it on his album. Cheers.

  • It is INSANE the Beatles Christmas record has not been issued on CD. It is brilliantly funny, and incredible to hear them develop from simple 'thanks fans, merry crimble' to the stoned hilarity of 65, to comedy and skits and short songs seen in 66, 67, and even 68 and 69 (each Beatles recorded their messages separate the last two years) were enjoyable.

  • @morninggloryseed Yes! Some of the coolest sixties abstract stuff is crammed amid those old vinyle grooves I wore out long ago!

  • LOOOOL

  • Dylan was a HUGE influence on The Beatles. I'm not saying he was BETTER than The Beatles-- just an influence.

  • CHINA

  • What!!! Was that supposed to be Bob Dylan they were imitating. Good job they stuck to music and not impressions.

  • damn they're high o.o

  • Best video on youtube.

  • @72sienna u really gave a good history i actually never knew dat

  • Churchill's "V" was also palms out. The gesture that Lennon is displaying pre-dates Churchill by hundred's of years. The French used to cut off the fingers of English longbowmen in battle, so it was developed as a sign of defiance to show the enemy that they still had their fingers. The middle finger gesture is just an Americanized adaptation of this...

  • @ 72sienna I had heard that the middle finger is actually a much older sign that goes back to Roman times.

  • @StephanSandiares Yes! I have heard both theories as well (for the middle finger). I don't believe that theory extends to John's two finger salute though.

  • @StephanSandiares no, bitting their thumb was much older.

  • china and vietnam wow!!!

  • that is not f***ING funny bob Dylan is an awesome rock star he can play a harmonica, and guitar good. and who gives if his vocals ain't good he has really good songs. hes like the best rock star ever he helped in the revaluation (the worst revolution is Facebook).

  • If u guys noticed in the last picture of the video john is putting the finger up at us!!!! LOL

  • @BeatlesGuy1 No, he's showing us the "Peace and Love" sign, the other finger is difficult to notice.

  • @SuperRIDDE5 actually BeatlesGuy1 is spot on. John IS giving the finger...two fingers with the palm in is the British version of flipping the bird. Peace and Love sign is palms out.

  • @72sienna Ah, I see. But why use the infamous "V for Victory" sign made famous by Churchill and turn it into that? Just curious.

  • the beatles were real and original.bob was/is just Judas

  • When naming this post, why did you imply that The Beatles are imitating Dylan? Was it just a ploy to simply attain more views? You could have wrote "The Beatles imitating Justin Bieber" or Kanye West & probably got the same effect. Any 1 of those would have been equally wrong & misguiding, since they're actually imitating Barry Mcguire's, Eve of Destruction.

  • @gjc82071 how do you know this? it sounds remotely similar to dylan. it doesn't sound a thing like justin bieber or kanye west.

  • instant respect

  • Anything you can do, The Beatles can do better. They were freaks, in a sense. It all came too easy to them. If they felt inclined, they could out-Dylan Dylan, out-Stones the Stones. Make the best gospel song, the best reggae song. No limits for those fuckers.

  • @superman11978 yeah.

  • @superman11978 "the best reggae song"? I guess Obladi-Oblada kills that theory.

  • @superman11978 that's an insane thing to say. Their lyrics were never a match for dylan's, the reggae song they did was barely reggae at all, and they didn't have the voices for gospel. In point of fact, the beatles didn't have a huge range of sounds, they just had a very interesting range.

  • funny as shit

  • This is just a little piece of one of their Christmas messages. And it's a parody of EVE OF DESTRUCTION.They did a lot of goofy things on those, another of the reasons they're still UNIQUE to this day.Unlike a lot of people.

  • @novicethe Right you are, they were putting the mockers on Barry McGuire, NOT Bob Dylan.

  • They were friends guys, dont freak.

  • i love these guys... they seemed to get along so well. It's a shame they didn't stick together longer

  • Did a medley of Dylan and The Beatles, check it out:

DiGarcia - 4th Time Around / Norwegian Wood

  • where are they now?

  • Dylan turned them on to marijuana. This is the inevitable (and awesome) response.

  • They WISH they were as good as Bob Dylan..

  • @musicsavesx they were better

  • CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They are actually imitating Barry Mcguires Eve of Destruction

  • @806waylon - Good call. Not many people would catch that one. But the raspy McGuire voice could be mistaken for a Dylan imitation

  • haha, sounds more like Tom Waits.

  • GO TO VIET-NAM AND SEE ALL THA BODIES IN THA RIVERRRRRR

  • And it's Ringo at the end of this clip doing the parody of Barry McGuire, who sang: "Even the Jordan river has bodies floating" in Eve Of Destruction.

  • LENNON: Barry McGuire the old sod! You come in with that.

DYLAN: Alright. Barry McGuire tells me he's a good friend of yours.

LENNON: Well, I hate to say this about Barry, Bobby. I hate it. But I don't know him at all personally. But I did have a letter from his manager saying he was very close to you being on the sort of bosom of the current folk-a-rock-a-boom. So that's the first thing I did hear about Barry himself.

DYLAN: He's worse than I am. He's terrible man. He's much worse than I am.

  • Lennon & Dylan take the piss at Barry McGuire in 1966 limo ride. Take 1:

DYLAN: I only know the lesser knowns.

LENNON: Barry McGuire is a great war hero.

DYLAN: Barry McGuire is a great friend of yours, John, I understand.

LENNON: He,I, he met me through you Bob. Remember? He's a great buddy, Sgt. Barry.

DYLAN: Yeah, yes, yes. I remember. Oh God. I was sure you were…

LENNON: All right, stop and do those lines again… (sings) Blast them all! Blast them all!!!

  • The "China" line in this Beatles fan club record is the clue that tells you it's a Barry McGuire's "Eve Of Destruction."

  • Actually, it's a parody of Barry McGuire. Check out the record "Eve of Destruction," which was a new hit right when this Christmas fan club record was recorded. You'll get the joke better. McGuire totally ripped off Dylan's thing. Thus, the other "Copyright" jokes on this Beatles fan club record. You'll also hear Lennon taking the piss VERY BIGLY at Barry McGuire in the back of Lennon's limo on May 27, 1966 with Dylan. Youtube search: "John Lennon & Bob Dylan in a taxi cab 1966" Listen at 5:30

  • C'mon I don't think they "loved" each other. They inspired each other, but they were competitors. From what I've seen John was condescending to Bob (at least on the exterior) the same way that he acted towards other big-headed people, because Dylan was cynical and witty and so was John. they just couldn't become friends because they would have annihilated each other with sarcasm and nasty jokes.

Dylan helped Lennon grow lyric-wise, there's no denying. So what.

  • lol john is flipping off the camera in the last picture

  • @luquizzlah ahahaha yeah he is

  • in lennons song god, one of the lyrics says "i dont believe in zimmerman". which is bob dylans real last name. so in later years i dont think john liked bob dylan

  • Eh I don't get involved in arguments, I love the Beatles and I don't care what anybody else on here has to say, this video was funny!

  • CHINAA!

  • Press 5 for China.

  • oh god, what were they on? this is hilarious!

  • this is eve of distruction? and barry mcguire sings this.

  • QUE PENDEJOS

  • lol

  • hahlol press 3 repeatdley!

  • Amusing, but it's not Dylan they're taking the p1ss out of. They're singing Eve Of Destruction by Barry McGuire.

  • @ImposingAtheist You knp Brian Epstein ?

  • i don't think they're trying to imitate dylan, it sounds like they're mocking eve of destruction - which is by barry mcguire...

  • I can't here Ringo in it :/

  • who doesn't make fun of dylan's singing voice? everyone thinks mine is dead on. this is pretty funny tho, because it's so over the top. admit it, it made you at least smile.

  • CHINA!

  • What makes you think they were imitating Dylan. Sounds like they were just acting silly.

  • John was just a gay :(

  • Bob Dylan introduced the Beatles to weed

  • hilarious!

  • the beatles and bob are best friends just like u imitate your friends gosh

  • dylan owns the beatles, lmao

  • @bphatboyjohn123 why are you even comparing them to begin with.

  • Its only a Joke,dosent matter ^^

  • What song are they singing?

  • I hate imitators. Ah'm tellin' Bob aboot thus, guys!

  • Nope. This is no imitation of theirs regarding Dylan.

  • @sleepingcatt It's an imitation of Barry Mcguire "Eve of Destruction".

  • Dylan is the best songwriter and, well, poet, I've ever heard. The fact that the 'beatles' apparently want to insult him is pretty dumb... Isn't it the Beatles that wrote that famous lyric "I am the eggman..."?

    What the fuck is that?

  • @TheJoe55223 the beatles and dylan were good friends haha they're not trying to insult him.

  • @MalarkyGaming THis is hsyterical! Of course, they revered bob Dylan, esp as a political voice-- but let's face it, don't care who you are, this is funny! Dylan has NO vocal chops... whew, still laughing...

  • @MalarkyGaming Well, duh they're not trying to insult Bob Dylan... Since this is them imitating BARRY MCGUIRE!

  • @TheJoe55223 Hmm they wrote hundreds of songs, not just one line which was actually written as a joke. Dylan actually said "I'm in awe of McCartney...He's just so damn effortless". Lennon wrote some of the most amazing lyrics about peace etc - what about Imagine?

They were all great friends, why do you have to make it a competition? Oh I know, because you're pathetic.

  • @zeickus Dylan did not "suck". Maybe you just don't like him, or more realistically, you are too ignorant/simple to appreciate him, but he don't suck. YOU suck. Daily, you suck an entire bag of dicks.

  • @gjc82071 ok, I suck on a giant bag of dicks.. wtf kinda e thug r u? the 12 yr old that can only use dick sucking as a punch line. Listen to your fuckin scrub ass talk like you know shit. Btw Bob Dylan does suck... he cant sing worth a shit and his lyrics are fuckin horrible.

  • @zeickus Well, at least you are man enough to admit it (that you suck bags of dicks). "Scrub"....WTF....is it 1998 again? LOL You're a joke. You are musically ignorant/clueless.

  • @gjc82071 sure man, w/e lets you sleep at night... seriously just cause someone thinks Bob Dylan is a horrible singer/musician doesn't mean you need to get your panties stuck in a tight wad up your pathetic little ass. Here let me say sorry... I am sorry you pathetic little hippy. All better? ya fuckin little homo.

  • If I'd have know you were gonna fucking cry about it......You're problem is that you are musically ignorant. Maybe you do not "like" Bob Dylan, but he does not "suck". He is a musical genius. I can "appreciate" talent, even if I do not like it. You on the other hand, due to some intellectual shortcoming, obviously can not. Now go & fuck your AIDS infected mother, right in her fat, nasty, shit hole, ya degenerate, slob fucking, pedophile, hermaphrodite. BTW, your insults are gayer than you.

  • @gjc82071 listen to yourself lol.. and you say im crying? all you can do is use sex in all your insults. This either means you do not get sex cause your to busy masturbating to the internet or you have a dysfunctional relationship with your sister that has gone on way to long. Either way the whole mom thing? how graded school and my insults are "Gayer" then myself.... your pathetic man.. and Bob Dylan does suck.. get over it.

  • Comment removed

  • & you know all this because.....? You know less about me than you do about music. I have no sister, you dolt. Getting you all worked up is fucking hilarious. So where were we? Oh yea....Dylan = great, & you = talentless gas station attendant. Go suck your mother's cock, fag.

BTW, "get your panties stuck in a tight wad". I haven't heard that since like....1995, and it was gay then. Are you stuck in the 90'? "Hippie"? LOL Hippie, really? Get some original insults at least. You look like a fool.

  • @gjc82071 Where do ya guys get all the energy to have useless fights with strangers on the internet from? XD come on, less hate on youtube...

  • Comment removed

  • @zeickus No he doesn't! D:

Although I must admit his more of a poet than a musician he's still great, and he was a great inspiration for the Beatles!

  • @Martin126X He was a good musician, he just doesn't have the most resounding vocal chops.

  • @pongespob I agree, his voice isn't that great (It's still cool in my opinion), but the lyrics in his songs are just so good, I don't even care.

  • @pongespob It is nice to listen to in a different way.

  • @pongespob he wasn't that good a musician, certianly not as a guitarist, harmonica was sick. And he had blues chops, as long as the song is right for him he can do things that Paul and john cant. he was a master at using his voice, and that's WAY more important than having an american idol voice.

  • @TheJoe55223 It's not Dylan they're imitating. It's Barry Mcguire.

  • @TheJoe55223 I am the eggman o Iam the walrus is a mock song Joh lennon is tired of people trying to find Fucking messages in their songs that's why wrote that song a lots of words with no meaning, you can't judge the Beatles for wrote that, beside John Lennon and Bob dylan were friends look for a video boath hang it out together Smart ass.

  • 0:15 DO THE FACE, JOHN! DO THE FACE!

  • feel less meanginless*

  • Imitating Barry McGuire's , not Bob.

There was never fight between my Willburys

  • wow the beatles critisizing dylan im all for the beatles but wtf dylans a great artist forget the beatles

  • Sounds like new words to "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." Is this really actually John?

  • CHINA

  • John is definitely imitating Barry McGuire, not Bob!

  • I liked when it turned into Louis Armstrong.

  • He's actually riffing on Barry McGuire's Eve of Destruction.

  • What's so funny?????

  • Hmmm, so when it comes to singing through the nose, I'd imagine that Ringo would be the best of the lot.

  • The Beatles would be imitating Bob Dylan. They fucken loved Dylan more than they loved themselves.

  • oh 4 fucksake ... if you don't like the Beatles or Bob Dylan, what the fuck are you watching this video clip for???? And bagging them against one another is the most stupidest shit of all, they were friends and Bob Dylan could make as much fun back at people too ... STOP calling John Lennon and Paul McCartney DOUCHE BAGS, they're fucken NOT!!!!! They are lads that liked to have fun and yes sometimes at the expense of others, but then again how many of you make jokes at the expense of others 2

  • @Shadzan why dont u just suck there dicks then???? fag

  • WTF....middle finger 0:25 hahahahah XDD

  • @bogdanLEGEND1 lol he's making a peace sign

  • @bogdanLEGEND1 was that john or George with his finger up?

  • VIET_NAAAAAM

  • Okay i caouldent stop Laughing i absolutly adore john lennons witty humuor and LOL at johns face at 0:16 XD

  • Okay i caouldent stop Laughing i absolutly adore john lennons witty humuor XD

  • We all know that Dylan isn't the best singer, so why take this offensively if you're a fan?

  • They wouldn't make fun of Dylan, all of the Beatles admired Dylan and at one point, got depressed because they thought they would never make a song better than Subterranean Homesick Blues

  • what song is this?

  • Comment removed

  • @zoobeedoo09 Eve of destruction was written by P. F Sloan a huge hit song writter of the sixties with groups like The grass Roots and The Turtles.

  • Comment removed

  • The Beatles did a number of funny songs and out takes like this. It means nothing. The only song where they do a take on Dylan in a tongue and cheek way is "Rocky Racoon." "Norwegian Wood" was Dylan inspired, but not a jab or anything like that. People used to have a sense of humor before the 21st century and the internet. Now everyone is raging all the time on the internet instead of getting therapy.

  • Wow some people need to calm down.Im a huge beatles fan and whenever someone is telling a joke about them or imitating them i just laugh i dont take it seriously come on.Bob Dylan was great too but its just a funny clip of them having fun in the studio...GOD

  • @trufiend138 how much do you know about the beatles or bob dylan? they were friends.

  • @trufiend138 Umm, you obviously know nothing about The Beatles. They loved Dylan, they were friends, and The Beatles wrote and played their own music. There is NOTHING boy band about that. Get a life and learn something. Grow a sense of humor while you're at it.

  • @hideyourloveaway128 even worse, beatles were pure capitalists.. they werent down with the struggle like jefferson airplane, jimi, et al...

  • @trufiend138 Oh grow up. Seriously. Big fucking deal. Ooh, it's SO bad to make money! Ooh! Gee, cause Jefferson Airplane and Jimi Hendrix were all poor and stuff . . . yeah. Right. Uh-huh. Puh-leeeeessseeee . . . . . . .

  • @trufiend138 The Beatles also got ripped off a lot. All musicians, including the Airplane and especially Hendrix never actually do anything activist, they just incited. And Hendrix never even did that. He just did guitar tricks and drugs, and died.

  • @trufiend138 Wrong. They were friends. Get your facts right before saying something.

  • @trufiend138 the only boy band that didnt end up with a gay guy yah damn fag, now yes i do agree paul is a douche and so are the rest of them but you can not deny that there the beast douches on earth

  • CHINA!.....CHINA!

  • i can only see 2 idiots and 1 shit head

  • Fuckin' Idiots!! Read a book, shit heads!!

  • Oh well...they can make fun of whoever they want. They also ripped off a ton of American artists in their music.

  • have fun, what the fuck

  • exspecially

  • That's so cute! :D

  • ATTENTION all Beatles fans,On July 15th, we will be watching the music video hey jude repeatedly all day to boost it's view count up to at the least of 100,000,000 views. You don't even have to listen to it. You can just keep playing the video back to back all the way through without sound. We're doing this to compete with Justin Beibers garbage music videos & to make The Beatles be heard across Youtube. Copy& Paste this across all Beatles videos. Spread the word!

  • its johns wild rabit face again! from :15 !!!

  • @1967sanfrancisco Actually I hate to dissapoint but that's John's 'taking the piss out of spastics' face. If you watch a lot of the early live Beatles stuff he does lots of stuff making himself look disabled and talking gibberish.

  • @bloodnokian haha, funny man, real funny... either way, hes still hot! lol, ;D

  • @1967sanfrancisco I wasn't being funny, it's the truth and if you were a Lennon fan and read books you would know this, as I do.

  • @bloodnokian ok, take a chill pill man... i was clearly joking... and if you are such a fan of him as you claim, you should try and be like him. cheer up, seriously. dont take stuff so serious.

  • @bloodnokian none the less thanks man, i didnt know that. just next time dont worry about what other people say...

  • @bloodnokian Whenever Paul asked the crowd to clap their hand's Lennon would stamp his feet all crookedly , twist his arms and pull his face.

  • @johnbarry1965 John was severely affected by the countless basket cases -- retarded or malformed children who literally spent their lives in baskets -- which the Beatles saw on tours of Britain's hospitals.

  • @kir3txsbcglobalnet Lennon used to make fun of disabled people in Liverpool!!!!!

  • hahaha very funny

  • Saw a Dylan concert 2 years ago very dissapointed

  • I do believe Lennon and McCartney r the best no one even comes close and I'm a big Dylan fanI
