Yeah bluesy type track used to get played at Winsford allnighters along with The Drifters " Drip Drop" and Dusty Wilson "Can't do without you " 3 similar type records bluesy but still well danceable

a venue like rotherham back in the early 80s only had one room and they very successfully played oldies and newies next to each other and mixed it all up within a set .

i dont understand why now there are different rooms for different genres (eg an r n b room ) , its all northern soul so why not play it all together ? both 60s and 70s and all genres

its 1961 , its jazz , its r n b , its blusey , bit rock n roll ( the b side is called rock n roll train ! ) and has a kind of cha cha cha thing going on ! its pleasant enough for what it is , but no way is this soul . and i cant begin to imagine how a northern soul dancer would dance northern soul to it !

@sarahkleen ,not all northern soul dancer's are backdropping, highkicking,fast spinning addicts,that was for the camera's !! i'm listening to it now as i type,its a very atmospheric track,just imagine shuffling across the floor to each beat,its kinda hard to describe you have to see it to get the full picture, it is more r&b than soul but then again the age old question is "what is soul?"that is the music equivalent of finding the holy grail !

yes i agree not all northern soul tunes are "fast" stuff like little antony ect , great soul but im sorry this is not soul

i can imagine it goes down a storm at , say, a mod event or in a cafe bar and im sure its very popular .

but the northern soul is a DANCE scene a few slowies excepted northern soul is mid to uptempo dance music

@sarahkleen ,there are lots of so called northern soul tunes out there that have nothing to do with soul,most of them are instrumentals with about as much soul as a dead stoat !but you can dance to them,i quite like beat ballads these tunes are danceable with superb lyrics of heartache and pain look em up on youtube you may like what you hear !your right it does make a great debate !

its not just so much that it isnt soul as the way 60s r n b now dominates the whole scene , what happened to 70s ? it just seems to be going backward and getting more like rock n roll . i partly blame collecters trying to outdo each other with raritys for it ,
