@niv6191 got a quattron today. good? i notice strong yellows and golds. other than that, its bad. the other colours seem dull and boring. it is brand new and i havent had a lot of time to mess with the settings. i do not like the settings menu. and any adjustments i make seem to not have the desired effects. shut all the 'auto' off but it still seems to self adjust and in a bad way. often, too much detail is lost in shadows. nice whites tho. dont recommend unless u get one on the cheap.
@voidremoved Thanks for the reply! How much did it cost you? I have been looking for a tv for a long time now. Recently brought a plasma but the colours were not bright enough and made a buzzing sound. The Sharp looks good as there are no other LED sets around at a good price like this, unless you know any? Have you tried any of the other features, 3D and the internet and also the EPG? Thanks
@niv6191 it cost too much. and it will cost me $200+ to hire a tech to calibrate it. colours are far from dull, almost too colorful. anything i do to the settings is frustrating. blacks are too black and the overall image seems kind of 'tinted', but the colors & white pop thru. so its kind of just ugly. pro calibration is a must. no chance to try 3d yet, but it will convert 2d to 3d, which is not very impressive, but its there. also, the sharp 3d glasses are over $100 a set and feel cheap.
@voidremoved Hmm on a positive note I prefer the bright vivid colours! Used to own a Plasma now will get this as I prefer rich colours then dull ones. There are settings for the Sharp online, have a search and you can find some good settings that will make it more enjoyable for you,
@niv6191 i did get it set up so it looks 'good'. those $20 blu-ray will help a lot, but for this kinda set i still recommend having it calibrated after 100 hrs, with the proper equipment and someone trained to use it. otherwise the benefits are lost and a cheaper set would do just as well. the wifi is good. sometimes takes 2 tries to get in netflix. and also apps "hang" on a black screen the odd time, but soon goes back to the last 'input' youve used. worth noting but not worth a complaint..
@voidremoved lol.. hate to troll, especially @myself, but its interesting to see me complain about 'dull boring' colours, then next its, far from dull. thats why u shouldnt bother with the settings till 100 hrs burn time.. the colours dont seem even or balanced.. similar colours in a scene may seem vastly different. like dull next to brilliant.. gets better after a week of use and some tweaks. for what it is, its a fine set. would prefer full array LED but oh well.
Poor Tv. Doesn't have any update options / plug-ins for watching videos on different websites. Shit! Wireless keyboard is also not available. Double shit!

DO NOT BUY SHARP PRODUCTS. THEY ARE FRAUDS!!!! ALL OF THE TELEVISIONS ARE SUSPECT. I SPENT OVER $3000 ON MY 65" AND IT ONLY LASTED 2 YRS.!!!! SHARP WOULD NOT REPLACE IT.!!!! FRAUDS!!
I don't know if it's all the LCD,LCD/LED, LED T.V.s, but I miss the picture in picture. I was hoping for a set-up like to movie: "Back to The Future part II", where McFly's child had every channel on one time and can pick which one to view. Bottom line, why did they leave out the picture-n-picture or split screen? Knowing Technology, they'll wait and come out with brand new sets that will have it and you can only get it from buying a new set...."ain't that a b*t*h!"
While I'm not a big fan of Sharp for a few reasons, this is definitely a great feature. I can totally see my mom using this. This is aimed at the ignorant average joe (tech wise).
