Hello sir, and nice instructional video right here! I'm afraid I got a question though: If I recall correctly, the MPC 1000 only has 2 stero Outputs, so how come you can record 6 audio tracks at a time? It's really what I'm trying to figure out, so any answer would be appreciated!
@daboulkioutaw do you mean the hard drive or memory card on your MPC? when you record into a D.A.W. on your computer that is to your hard drive. Make sure to check your program of choice properties and settings area for recording, sessions and destination.
@illbeatzdotcom ok thx, i have a more complicated question, i didnt understand how did you send each track to each channel on pro tools ... can i do this with only midi ????
@dbanga5 it happened to me like a month ago and it bugged the hell out of me so i un-installed pro tools and re-installed a fresh copy and it works perfect again.
I know this isn't a very good fixing method but it was the quickest and only way i knew how.
It was was weired, kind of like a pop or crackle at the very beginning of the loop. I hope you find a faster and more permanent solution to this issue.
@illbeatzdotcom Hey man my sole purpose in life right now is to stop the pop at the end or beginning of my loop, my set-up is identical to yours but with the 5000 and cubase sx3. So do you still get that pop at the end when trying to make perfect 8 bar loops...? maybe I'll just re-install
i see you cables 5 and 6 are in the stereo left and right ports.... how do you get those to record to single tracks no matter which way i pan i dont hear any sound.
@YungJayTelevsion i've contacted digidesign so many times about the mbox mini for syncing my fantom to protools and they dont even know what to do. i dont think that it will sync because the mbox mini clock source is external only my advise is that you buy the mbox 2 right now its on sale at guitar center for $272 until the 30th and just sell the mbox mini

@YungJayTelevsion best thing to do if you don't have midi is to track two sounds out at a time by using the stereo left and right output. Make sure to pan each sound completely to the right and the other to the left. To keep all sampled sound in sync. First, you should track in a two bar metronome click from the mpc. Use this as your reference pattern to line up all the rest of your samples used in the beat. Also, make sure to have the grid in pro tools set to 1/8.
Yah... but from my experience, using the same equipment you have, there is a tiny gap in the beginning of every track you track out to pro tools. let me know if you have this or not cause I'm real curious and the cats on gearslutz keep saying dumb shit like "user error." This gap is so small you can't see it in normal view, you really gotta zoom in. but I can hear it's there when I have midi recorded in pro tools and it doesn't sync right with what gets tracked from the mpc... pt sucks for beats
the tiny gap is likely from the latency or buffer size setting in pro tools. in "playback engine" if you have 1024 selected, you'll have 1024 samples at the beginning before it records. this is the DAW buffering so that it can record. on a LE system, this can only be minimized, but not entirely avoided. it's easy enough to chop out the small gap at the beginning in tools though, right?
@TheAxisCollective ur right man...I just started tweaking my buffer settings when doing vocals and mixing, the buffer should be set to the lowest setting during recording and the highest setting for mixing/playback...that should help a little
Any chance in you doin a tutorial for the way you connect that? I just uprgraded to PT 8...and I wanna line my MPC into it. Can you help a guy out? or at least give me some quick ref points? anything is good man!
Yo IllBeats this is exactly what I want man I am new with the MPC and am real slow at figuring out technical things man is there anyway you could help me out to figure out what I need to do? Cause I always gotta make my beat then bounce it on pro tools out the stereo outs and pan things hard left hard right one track at a time. I have the MPC 5000 and pro tools 7.4 and an Mbox2. I need the digi 002 for all those inputs though or what? Please help bro sorry to be a burden.
unfortunately yes, that's the only way to do it with the mbox 2.
if you want to record more than 2 outputs from your mpc 5000 simultaneously you will need to get a 002, 002 rack or 003, 003 rack if you plan on recording into pro tools.
ill beatz i know i hit you up before, but ima bout to go crazy man. My question is, how to i get the beats i made into my mpc into protools, i dont care if i have to do them 2 at a time or one at a time, but hot do i do it. I Use: mpc5000 mbox 2- mac PLEASE HELP
why making that kind of hiphop with an mpc? sorry, nice vid.. but i don't like the music.. with the mpc sampling is the best thing you can do!! grap ya old vinyl records and search for nice samples, get it into your mpc and voila..
one question, do you have m-audio hardware with protools, otherwise logic is more efficient to use
Don't hate man. I agree about the music, but obviously the vid's about the relationship between the MPC and the program, not the music. All new Logic is Mac only numnizzuts. You want to explain to me why Logic is better if you're not using hardware and why M-Audio stuff specifically is needed to make the use of Pro-Tools a better option over Logic?
I made the beat in like 3 minutes just for the video man.. this video is what PeterCPohl said, the relationship between the MPC 1000 and the program Pro Tools. No i don't have m-audio hardware, just digi design.
@Griffondabeat, all the cords leaving the mpc would be the assignable audio outs going into the interface.
MRHDOTCOM1 1 month ago
if your doing only via midi... why do you have so many cords coming out of your MPC?
Griffondabeat 1 month ago
ok, so what are the settings on the mpc nigga . dont you hit midi/sync on the mpc ?????

change your hardware buffer and you should lose that gap in the beginning. Something like 128 should be good..
