It's hard to believe that people take twitter that seriously. I don't want to know who has removed me as a facebook friend, who has unsubscribed to me on twitter, or who has been on my facebook profile, so why would I want to worry that someone will be upset if I unfollow them on twitter?

I don't use twitter personally, but my number of facebook friends/youtube followers doesn't matter to me. The "friends" I talk to wouldn't unfriend me, and the ones who would I don't miss. Which, in short, is almost exactly what you said in this video. Kind of. Almost. Except not. Sorry.
But there is safety in being a number. Commenting means you put your self out there for rejection. Commenting, at least good commenting, needs personality and a decent grasp of grammar.
On the other hand I revel in being more than a number.
I think there will always be sites that are trying to entertain/help/trick frequent users of the site. Like how facebook has those random applications that shows you who your "stalker" is and what not. None of it truly means anything.

you make good points. social networking isn't about the number of followers, or subscribers you have, and i think people focus too much on that. i only have about 25 followers on tumblr, but thats okay because it's my personal blog. it's not about pleasing people or being popular, it's about posting things that i like. and people forget about that a lot :/
You are by far my favorite YouTuber! Every time one of my other subscriptions posts a video I'm happy, but whenever you post a video it's an event for me! Just sayin.
It seems like people put more and more importance on quantity of views, followers, and subscribers and less and less on the quality of the video, and the thought and creativity it took to make it.
it's sad, and it just makes for a lot of vapid, unoriginal videos/posts/blogs/ what have you. None of which holds any real interest for anyone that doesn't just sit down at the computer to see another video of a cute kitten, but wants to know someone's real thoughts

I don't use twitter personally, but my number of facebook friends/youtube followers doesn't matter to me. The "friends" I talk to wouldn't unfriend me, and the ones who would I don't miss. Which, in short, is almost exactly what you said in this video. Kind of. Almost. Except not. Sorry.

But there is safety in being a number. Commenting means you put your self out there for rejection. Commenting, at least good commenting, needs personality and a decent grasp of grammar.
On the other hand I revel in being more than a number.

I think there will always be sites that are trying to entertain/help/trick frequent users of the site. Like how facebook has those random applications that shows you who your "stalker" is and what not. None of it truly means anything.
btw near the end i notice how it always looks like you kind of squirm in your videos since it mostly shows you from the shoulders up and it looks like your looking off to the side. it's silly.

Wooow. Twitter should not be taken so seriously. I remember when I had a myspace, I think you could tell when someone had read a message from you or not, and it would drive me CRAZY waiting to get a reply. "But I KNOW he read the message! It says so RIGHT HERE." Yeah, I hate apps like that. Anyway, hope you enjoyed True Grit! Personally, I thought it was fantastic.

I accidentally unfollow/block people all the time, so it helps my friends find out so they can relay & tell me before I wonder why they haven't replied. I also use a service that tells me who i follow/mutual follow/they follow, for the same reasons. I gots the fat thumb syndrome

you make good points. social networking isn't about the number of followers, or subscribers you have, and i think people focus too much on that. i only have about 25 followers on tumblr, but thats okay because it's my personal blog. it's not about pleasing people or being popular, it's about posting things that i like. and people forget about that a lot :/

It seems like people put more and more importance on quantity of views, followers, and subscribers and less and less on the quality of the video, and the thought and creativity it took to make it.
it's sad, and it just makes for a lot of vapid, unoriginal videos/posts/blogs/ what have you. None of which holds any real interest for anyone that doesn't just sit down at the computer to see another video of a cute kitten, but wants to know someone's real thoughts
