Look It's pathetic how people say Guild Wars is better. I have player both games. WoW is much better but you have to pay. This means they get more money to make more gameplay. Pretty good comparison. I've played Guild Wars and World of Warcraft. Each has its own appealing side, however, at the same time each has its short coming. For me the fact that Guild Wars is F2P after you purchase the software is a huge plus. That and the ability to choose from hundreds of skills to create a customized build is very nice. As for WoW, the full persistent world, jumping...you know all the great MMO stuff...that's what I like about it. Overall, both are great games.
I think WoW is much better. I don't want to hear about "oh well, you don't have to pay monthly for GW." Well, ever heard the saying "you get what you pay for?" The GW storyline/campaign thing is too confined. There's no freedom. And the character options are weak. Even if it is free, it's just not worth playing. And honestly, $15 a month is not that much. Look at your damn electricity bill.
heres my point on this, guild wars actually has a presented story, that you can level up to, wow does not, guild wars consistently has VOICE cinematic's throughout the story, WOW does not that is why I play guild wars, sure WOW has fun elements to it but MOST of the game is just a questing grind to get top the highest level which is NOT fun
This has probably already been stated (too lazy to look back through all the comments myself), but it should be noted that, for GW, both Prophecies and Nightfall have intro scenes *with* voice overs (haven't played Eye of the North yet). Only Factions (to my knowledge) lacks a voiced intro. Just thought it was worth mentioning :)
this game looks pretty cool but it will never take over WoW. wow is too complex and you have to many things to do. people may play this for a month or two but they'll come back to WoW and get back into the raiding sequence
guild wars is free to play, and btw in guild wars there are 10 classes if you have nightfall which u do not. and if u dont thing guild wars beats WoW just check out what Guild Wars 2 is going to be like, I think alone GW is better than WoW, but Guild Wars 2 will blow away WoW. Well i played both and for starters Gw2 going to have a level cap of 80 is a load of crap, having to grind the shit out of your characters for that. I hate when in games characters have to level above 60, it only makes the game more boring at some point and gives people the will to quit that shit.
Gw doesnt have jumping(but will have), and i think its fun, has voiced cinematics (fuck you for saying it doesnt), and they acctually give you an objective. to me wow just felt dull and repetitive.
@MrRetlav Levels are arbitrary progress points; the speed at which you level varies per game, and Guild Wars 2 is alleged to have a relatively short period between levels... making 80 levels not too "grindy", as the point of the game is to participate in the storyline and not necessarily pound out levels.
Note: the video says Guild Wars has eight classes, but, in fact, it has ten, like WoW.

Guild Wars 2 are comming with better graphic and more classes! The good thing with Guild Wars is that its very cheap. But you get tired on it at last because of the only goal: LVL up. Take a game like Oblivion. Put some real feel to the game. Create fun quests not just aah go there pick the apple and come back or kill the beast and you will get 10000 xp. That makes the game so booring. I think they should take the quests to a new lvl like in Oblivion.

@gamersAproductions Knowing right about everything there is to know about Cataclysm wow, I want to tell you that they're returning to Burning Crusade style = actual HARD dungeons and raids, as well as awesome quests. It's looking to be the best expansion for wow thus far. Just sayin' :P

@affred87 Gw2 will have a lvl cap of 80 though, so that's one thing that WoW will beat the game with. However there will be a leveling curve in Gw2 at some point of the game so that reaching from lvl79 to 80 would be no different than from 49 to 50. So there isn't going to be some painful grind like in WoW, there will be fun right from the first level and fun all the way to the last. Even after you reach the highest level, there's still too much to do aside from just raiding in the new game.
@PatriciaPine You can actually jump in Gw1, but the problem is that you can't jump whilst in movement. However GW2 will have jumping, dodge rolling, kicking, swimming, and fighting underwater. It's a lot more action oriented than Gw1 and WoW combined.

you cant really make a review when you havent got 2 of the campains, also guild wars does have voices overs and an amazing story line which is still carrying on with beyond (carrys on after GE:WN) the only thing i would say wow owns guild wars in is the loading screen but then what the point in a fancy loading screen your only on it for two seconds on it anyway? x

Well. I have Played both. both are fun. GW=No kill Stealer's. Wow may have an open realm. But lets face it people. Wow is about to get Screwed over my Guild Wars 2. Wow is going to be blow out of the water. 1 Because of the graphics and 2, The World is alive. Everything in the world changed constantly. Quests aren't just quests anymore, they are life. YOU the player decides what happens.
I wanted to say that in GW. If you enter a town for the first time to loading time will take longer. because GW needs to download the game content. If you enter a town for the second time GW only has to download the locations of the other player, and the current economy of this town.

It May be Low Budget, but it is free. they benefit there players. Not there Wallets. 11Million People pay them $15 a month. They Make more then you ever will in one month then you ever will in your lifetime. GW is Fair to there players by not Killing them in Fee's and Banning there accounts because they "Suspect" that they are selling them. Yes, that happened to me. You haven't gave one reason why Guild Wars is flawed my friend. And what you said about WoW Guild Wars has except for the population thing. But then again the majority of the WoW population are retarded assholes so I rather stick with the lower but more friendly Guild Wars population. And yes I have played both, eventually quit WoW and started Guild Wars.
there were 10 "Professions" even at the time you made this video, and nearly every cutscene EXCEPT the factions opening cutscene has voice narration. You didn't take into concideration the cost, all 4 GW games costs less than 1 whole year of WoW. And surely at the time you made this video, Eye of the North was out as well, along with a bit of information on GW2, 4 races, 10 professions, and many "chain effects" dealing with skills. GW2 wins hands down.
Ok i play/own both and i would like to make some things clear. in GW there are 10 class the 3 campaigns 1 expansion which you can lay all four regardless of which you do first the graphics are great, it is much easier to level and more cool features. In WoW it separates people and the leveling is reticules while yes there are more people playing it, the realms separate people to much along with choice of race. So both very good but when it comes down to it, GW is better and cheaper.
once guild wars 2 gets popular wow is gonna go out of business. trust me ive seen game play and and combat videos(also each race gameplay and customization)

Well i played both and for starters Gw2 going to have a level cap of 80 is a load of crap, having to grind the shit out of your characters for that. I hate when in games characters have to level above 60, it only makes the game more boring at some point and gives people the will to quit that shit.
Gw doesnt have jumping(but will have), and i think its fun, has voiced cinematics (fuck you for saying it doesnt), and they acctually give you an objective. to me wow just felt dull and repetitive.

@MrRetlav Levels are arbitrary progress points; the speed at which you level varies per game, and Guild Wars 2 is alleged to have a relatively short period between levels... making 80 levels not too "grindy", as the point of the game is to participate in the storyline and not necessarily pound out levels.
Note: the video says Guild Wars has eight classes, but, in fact, it has ten, like WoW.

Guild Wars 2 are comming with better graphic and more classes! The good thing with Guild Wars is that its very cheap. But you get tired on it at last because of the only goal: LVL up. Take a game like Oblivion. Put some real feel to the game. Create fun quests not just aah go there pick the apple and come back or kill the beast and you will get 10000 xp. That makes the game so booring. I think they should take the quests to a new lvl like in Oblivion.

@gamersAproductions Knowing right about everything there is to know about Cataclysm wow, I want to tell you that they're returning to Burning Crusade style = actual HARD dungeons and raids, as well as awesome quests. It's looking to be the best expansion for wow thus far. Just sayin' :P

@affred87 Gw2 will have a lvl cap of 80 though, so that's one thing that WoW will beat the game with. However there will be a leveling curve in Gw2 at some point of the game so that reaching from lvl79 to 80 would be no different than from 49 to 50. So there isn't going to be some painful grind like in WoW, there will be fun right from the first level and fun all the way to the last. Even after you reach the highest level, there's still too much to do aside from just raiding in the new game.

@PatriciaPine You can actually jump in Gw1, but the problem is that you can't jump whilst in movement. However GW2 will have jumping, dodge rolling, kicking, swimming, and fighting underwater. It's a lot more action oriented than Gw1 and WoW combined.

@blackshotthewerehog wow does not have more customization..... guildwars has 10 classes of which you can have any 9 of the others as a sub class you can dye your armor any which color and combinations of colors you feel compelled with that said wow does have more armor options however......guildwars has more endgame armor options /combinations with the addition of inscriptions and bonus where wow has enchantments and jewel sockets id say their pretty even in customization...wow just has a story.

@blackshotthewerehog you also forgot tailors can only dye clothies/leather users not platemail and wow has 10 classes but not every class is avaliable to each race where in guildwars you have 1 of the 10 classes and 1 of 9 sub classes....and if you want to argue tier sets as endgame armor once you add 2 raids your tier 8 is useless in tier10 raids why dont you take a look at tier 1 compared to lets say gladiator season5 or tier10 ..the guildwars armor has been the same stat wise just bling

Well. I have Played both. both are fun. GW=No kill Stealer's. Wow may have an open realm. But lets face it people. Wow is about to get Screwed over my Guild Wars 2. Wow is going to be blow out of the water. 1 Because of the graphics and 2, The World is alive. Everything in the world changed constantly. Quests aren't just quests anymore, they are life. YOU the player decides what happens.

I wanted to say that in GW. If you enter a town for the first time to loading time will take longer. because GW needs to download the game content. If you enter a town for the second time GW only has to download the locations of the other player, and the current economy of this town.

It May be Low Budget, but it is free. they benefit there players. Not there Wallets. 11Million People pay them $15 a month. They Make more then you ever will in one month then you ever will in your lifetime. GW is Fair to there players by not Killing them in Fee's and Banning there accounts because they "Suspect" that they are selling them. Yes, that happened to me. there were 10 "Professions" even at the time you made this video, and nearly every cutscene EXCEPT the factions opening cutscene has voice narration. You didn't take into concideration the cost, all 4 GW games costs less than 1 whole year of WoW. And surely at the time you made this video, Eye of the North was out as well, along with a bit of information on GW2, 4 races, 10 professions, and many "chain effects" dealing with skills. GW2 wins hands down.

Ok i play/own both and i would like to make some things clear. in GW there are 10 class the 3 campaigns 1 expansion which you can lay all four regardless of which you do first the graphics are great, it is much easier to level and more cool features. In WoW it separates people and the leveling is reticules while yes there are more people playing it, the realms separate people to much along with choice of race. So both very good but when it comes down to it, GW is better and cheaper.

ok, i just had to say something... There's one race because in the first gw (prophecies) it's human vs. charr/other creatures that get in ur way. Second, there's 2 names for 1 person because in the medevil days people didn't have last names, they had names like, Joshua son of David.. or something. And there is voice audio during missions and shit.
