Actually no. The kite was designed and built by Peter Lynn of New Zealand for Masaaki Modegi, Chairman of The Japan Kite Association and Curator of the Tokyo Kite Museum. The first of this size was made for the Al Farsi family with the Kuwait flag for graphics. Another was made as an American flag for David Gomberg of Gomberg Kite Productions in Oregon.

Not really. A steady breeze of about 8 mph will do. A lot of wind will just drag the loaded dump truck that is required for an anchor.
