This is just behaviour any predator shows when protecting it's food. it has no intention to harm you aslong as you stay away from them and their food.

For domesticated cats this behaviour rarely occurs due to rare circumstances.

Strays and cats that were to long in a litter commonly show this typ of behaviour.
