I used this type of violin for a number of years live, and in recording. I found the tone quite harsh, and the clothes peg makes an ideal mute for the treble side of the bridge... making the signal to the amp much more mellow.
Great video, im curious about the reason why you attached a clothespin to your bridge though, i just received my electric violin, so im wondering what the purpose of the pin is
