It's not a Skinny Puppy track, it's from Tear Garden, a collaborative project between Skinny Puppy and Legendary Pink Dots. "Centre Bullet" features Edward Ka-Spel on vocals. It was first published on Tear Garden's first full-length album, "Tired Eyes slowly burning". If you loved this track, you'll love most of what LPD and Edward Ka-spel have been recording for the last 30 years.
@brknalice wrong. It's on the REISSUE of The Bites album, was not on the original. It appeared first on the Tear Garden's self titled EP and the Tired Eyes Slowly Burning album. Go back to remedial industrial.
@thoughtcrimer Did i say anything about a Reissue? did i say anything about whos album it was on first? No, I said this was the Skinny Puppy version... Read it again.. Ass Clown.
@brknalice It doesn't matter because it's not a Skinny Puppy version in the first place, it's The Tear Garden. You would know this if you actually listened to either one of these bands, my young african american friend.
yesssssssss. I heard the EDWARD KA - SPEL VERSION FIRST BEFORE I HEAR THIS to me this is just the instrumental of that song no big deal but I guess people that no skinny puppy and don't know THE TEAR GARDEN would'nt know of ka spel singing the song...so yeah if you know skinny for song's like "dig it"...then this would be like .."whatthe hell is this"???.........thing's are just deeper than anger.........
I heard the Tear Garden version of this, and it was weird. Lyrics being over top of this sounded so out of place. I much prefer the original Skinny Puppy version, where your mind just wanders into a trance.
I love this instrumental...the most beautiful thing I've ever heard, haunting but ethereal and oddly comforting. When I had panic attacks, very little could calm me down but this song usually did the trick. This song has endeared my complete respect for Cevin Key.
i cant find walking on ice anywhere :( live ecxerpts from dallas, and i REALLY want to listen to it right NOW. damnit. its very much like some song off of rabies, that i cant recall right now .. argh.
Damn. Some Dj played this by accident for me because he got the wrong track number. I was so freaking out. And he played it all the way through. It was so awesome, because i was so damn stoned :-D
I think this would be the perfect song to listen to after washing down a handful of pills with a bottle of wine...it's so beautiful and peaceful, and it sounds like the world is fading away.
If I'm not mistaken, this song was originally sung by cEvin, probably the only time he's ever sung on any of the music he's written. I originally got the album on cassette back in '91. A few years later I got the CD version, and got to listen to Centre Bullet and all the other extra goodies on the disc.
This was indeed a Skinny Puppy song first and cEvin asked Edward to write lyrics to it. Edward says he wrote the lyrics on a plane to Vancouver. Lyrics about poison. cEvin later remarked on the chills he got the first time he heard Edward's lyrics added.
It is always difficult to make anything of quality - no matter when it is made.
Edward later remarked that FLA wanted to do an album with him but that the demos sounded pretty much just like TESB.
I enjoy watching the night sky, with all its stars and airplanes, while listening to it. As if it takes me to some other world, seriously. Awsome, i love this stuff :-)
Was this tacked on to the CD? I have Bites on vinyl, and this isn't on there. I do have this song on vinyl from The Tear Garden, but with vocals by Ed Ka Spel from The Legendary Pink Dots. Maybe I'll upload that version if no one else has heard it.
Just imagine how hard it was to achieve soundscapes of this quality way back in 85'. One song out of many that proves that Skinny Puppy were always way ahead of their time. Shit still are!
I recall flying over the Rockies in '96 after a snowfall just before sunset where everything is blue whilst listening to this track on digital audio tape. It was unlike any peace I've ever felt.
this is TEARGARDEN . which is cevin key (from skinnypuppy) and edward ka spell from (legendaryPink dots ) like duh? my frend has listened to this crap for 16 years
Still I have the impression that this version (which I already knew) has deleted Ka-Spells voice from it. Note the subtle, echo-y samples that have his vocals as source.
I heard it told the same as reptilian as well. I checked the dates, bites came out in 85, tired eyes in 87. So I think it WAS a puppy song first. It's just a great song and both versions rock!
My favourite Skinny Puppy song ever. According to Windows Media Player, I've listened to it 150 times, and that's not including the amount of times I listened to it on the 'pod. Thanks for uploading this :c)
@fuckmotherfucker666 this isn't skinny puppy. this is the tear garden! yeah cEVIN wrote the music but edward ka spell wrote the lyrics. calling it skinny puppy would be like calling it the legendary pink dots. it was this song the formed the tear garden.
it's missing Ka-spel big time,.....tear garden-centear bullet...

You're right and wrong. This particular version is a Skinny Puppy song, without any lyrics (apart from the words 'the centre bullet')
Then The Tear Garden, which is a band formed by Edward Ka-Spel and Cevin Key, wrote lyrics and sang them over the Skinny Puppy version of the song.
