@MultiOperafan Good question! The resolution here is PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL! I saw the entire film years ago on a VCR tape which I checked out on a whim in a public library in a non-Chinese (kind of Jewish) neighborhood in Los Angeles. The film is inspired by a first story of 聊齋誌異.
