Marc's lyrics - he new what he ment by them, everyone doesnt have to write bubblegum lyrics. been listening to his music never get tired off it. A lot better than that shit today.
@robbiedaug I was ready to post an angry response to your comment but instead I'll just say this: The way a word sounds is sometimes more important to the music than the actual meaning or poetic value of it. The way he combines music with how he sings certain lyrics sounds so polished and flawless, almost like it was pre-orchestrated in his brain, which you yourself called genius.
@shamwoww I like the lyrics of Mystic Lady a lot. Songs like The Slider's lyrics i would be ashamed to sing in front of people. They don't make much sense to me. Super cool song, though. Main Man is another song with odd lyrics. I love the song's melody and all, but those lyrics lol. Maybe i am not poetic enough to understand his lyrics , then again, maybe for some songs he just couldn't think of decent lyrics. I had his albums when he was acoustic and i thought the lyrics were an acid trip.
@gullsrus I have stated that i like the lyrics to Mystic Lady a lot. It's songs like, Main Man, and The Slider, that maybe you'd like to explain the meaning to. lol Now, that, i'd love to read much more than a message telling me to listen again.
I used to listen to T-Rex and Marc Bolan between Denver and Boulder City (at high speed). Loved their music and used to try to figure out how Bolan got such a soft sound out of his voice. Turns out, I guess, that he just had a soft voice. Anyway, it fit into the group and I sure was sorry when he was killed. With all public musical fok, we wonder what they'd have made if they'd lived... Lamar
I was one of the first Bolan fans in the club.in AUSTRALIA. a guy from Enderly Gardens in South Australia had all the bootlegs, Hey man can you contact me.
@seaeagles64 The guy's name was Gary Turner from Allenby Gardens SA. He vanished off the map many, many years ago. I wonder if he's still around. I spent a small fortune with him!!
@Grogster2 yes I'm sure thats his name..He had some great stuff. He sent me a list of stuff he had when I joined the fan club in early 70s , It was like Aladins Cave for me back then . Great memories. Snail mail, money orders, hope and pray.. he did come thru with the goods. gotta give him that.
Some people have said my music sounds like this. If you like it you'll probably like some of the original music I recently recorded. To hear it click on wisztrock. Thanks.
T-Rex was one of my favorite bands of all time i had forgotten about them until my band did a cover of the song Chariot Choogle then i had startted an obsession and bought all there albums RIP Marc Bolan u were a god
Think I first listened to The Slider about mid 1973. Marc Bolan is one of the few artists from that time that I can still listen to. I get as much enjoyment out of it now sober, as did after smoking a few joints of angel dust or dropping acid. I still find it uplifting where much of the rest makes me feel like coming down from the drugs. This, Pink Floyd before The Wall, GFR and their cover of Give Me Shelter, Jimi, all still good.
To all British and T-Rex fans: I'd like to apologize. First, for all the comments under this video being either aimed at or written by me. This is one of my favorite songs and it deserves better. I attempted to prove a stereo-type wrong but was instread pulled into an argument. Secondly, not ALL Americans are like this dick @mjw9363. There are some, but they usually reside in the middle of the country and in trailers with a big USA flag draped over it. Other than that, intelligence exists here.
@BrittanyMishele Why are you wasting your time responding to that cunt in the first place? You're lowering yourself to his level by devoting your time to even reading his ignorant hateful comments. You know there are plenty of decent people in the world, but unfortunately, the vast majority of morons seem to get drawn to the internet where they can be anonymous and say whatever shit they like because they know there's no chance of them getting the kind of reprisal they deserve. Just ignore 'em.
@pugilistofpower I know you're supposed to ignore them, and I honestly wasn't trying to argue. I was just trying to point out that his judgement of what a T-Rex fan is was seriously flawed and then I immediately got attacked and insulted. I'm done now though, as I see that he isn't someone who can hold a civil conversation.
@BrittanyMishele I understand. I get agitated too by some people on here, but that guy's arrogance, ignorance and malice make him even more unpleasant. Still it made me smile seeing him being outclassed by a girl probably much younger than him. When personal attacks start out of the blue it's a sure sign they ain't worth bothering about. Anyway, rock on Bolan!
@mjw9363 and another thing.. NONE of the bands you just mentioned are American. (THE Rush? Hahaha!!) See? You don't even know shit about the bands you like. Every comment you write is full of at least 2 contradictions. How can you be both "rebellious" and a "teeny bopper"? AMERICAN IDIOT.
@mjw9363 PS: I love how angry you're getting about all this! Arguing with a girl probably half your age. Shows real maturity! It also shows that your an uneducated hillbilly that probably lives in Arkansas. I'll take England's faults over American trailer trash ANY day. As for your taste, it's exactly what I thought you'd like. You into Lynyrd Skynyrd too? I've listened to T-Rex for years. Not to be 'rebellious' but because I love the music. The same music JOHN LENNON liked. Is he wrong too?
@mjw9363 I love how you think you have me all figured out when just a few hours ago you thought I was a gay, British man. I think you should take a look at yourself. Only gay men like Britney Spears. But if you want to feel better about it then go ahead and tell yourself your watching it for the singing! It's funny you should mention education as well. I was a music major in college, so I think I know a thing or two about it. You, on the other hand, can't seem to put a decent sentence together.
