In Canada the price is around 70k, I configured all options comes up to 76k. is that competitive price ? is it worth the value ? for me at 70k range the expectations are very high and we are playing with big names in a luxury segments such as Mercedes class E and Audi A6 or BMW 5 series . For now I will content with a fusion hybrid which will cost me about 30k less ,but which I think offers a better value on long run ,hopefully lol

Whut? That Mustang in the video was an old late 80's early 90's Fox body. It had an old pushrod iron block 302 with 225hp from the factory. Granted the one in the video was probably highly modified, but the MKS got the jump on it out of the gate. I doubt the MKS could keep up with the 412hp 5.0L DOHC Coyote in the new 2011 Mustang GT.
EcoBoost is great. But FWD sucks ass! I hate FWD. No real Lincoln has ever been FWD. The MKS may be fast, but it's jut a glorified Taurus. Which in turn is a rebodied Volvo. Front-wheel-drive is for sissy boys and soccer moms. Give me a REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE Lincoln and it'll be a real car. Like my Mark VIII's. RWD with DOHC V-8's that get 25+ mpg every day. Even with EcoBoost, I doubt the MKS could get better than 20. FWD sucks. No wonder Lincoln can't compete with Cadillac, BMW, or Mercedes. No RWD

Cadillac saw the light about a decade ago and stopped building mediocre FWD near-luxury cars and started building RWD cars that can actually compete with BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus. Lincoln needs to take a lesson from Cadillac in that regard.

Cadillac is in a transition. Pure RWD isn't good for a luxury Sedan. AWD is the best setup for a luxury sedan. It doesn't matter if that AWD is FWD or RWD based, as long as it's dependable, and transfers engine power effectively.

Cadillac learned after they went bankrupt and recovered to know what customers want. Fuel economy, power, and looks.

Ford people have hyped about Ecoboost, as they always do with their new, cheap, upgrades. It's not even an upgrade. It's basically a twin turbo on an existing cheap engine block, developed mainly by Mazda.
There's nothing to brag about Duratec V6 with turbo engine. Genesis comes with, all new, state of art, Tau V8 engine, that gets same MPG as the smaller Duratec V6 engine. Tau V8 engine is obviously much smoother and more powerful than Duratec V6 engine, too.
You're right. Genesis shouldn't be compared with MKS. Genesis is the only car receiving 23 awards just in 2009. MKS won nothing. Nada.
Genesis is driven by money-conscious, sensible, family-oriented people. Lincoln Continentals, predecessors of MKS, and Navigators have always been the de facto vehicles for pimps and drug dealers.
So, once again, you're absolutely correct. You should never compare the two cars, because you know they are rather different kind of transportations.

America has been building high quality cars for years now. You need to update your research. Cars like the Ford fusion was ranked higher than the Honda Accord in quality. Oh and the Fusion hybrid gets better mileage than both the Accord and Camry hybrids.
@MaxPrez90 the fusions v6 is only 3 liters vs hondas 3.5 liter. Fords 3.5 liter used in the new explorer makes 290hp on regular gas, considerably more than hondas car makes.

I just test drove this MKS with ecoboost. It rides like a medium size version of Towncar. One problem, though: it costs more than Towncar. This MKS is basically a same old Lincoln with cheap engine and platform like Ford Taurus with more cheap chromes and leathers.
I highly doubt anyone would want this piece of crap for 57K, when there are cars with equal size and option for 42K, like Genesis.
Since when has an American icon, like Lincoln copied design cues from Japanese cars? But that's exactly what Lincoln did with this MKS model. I actually went to MSN Auto, and compared pictures of MKS, Lexus GS and Infiniti M. Lo and behold, their sillouhettes were almost identical from all sides. The only differences were the front grilles and and back bumpers.
We all know Lincoln never produced cars that looked like the new MKS. Why did they suddenly change their minds?

actually spiagia it was Ford Motor that started the aerodynamic trend in the 1980s with the Taurus. The japs copied Ford's Aero look like most manufacturers did. And the jap cos still need work on how to figure out dimensional tolerances in manufacturing. Something that American and European car companies have known about for 75+ years.

No offense but Korean cars have god aweful transmissions - the tranny is the hardest part of the car to design.
No Korean car can be compared to an American luxury car for smoothness of the power train. My brother lives in Ulsan South Korea and Koreans consider Korean cars to be shit (no joke).

CTS is the Sigma platform, NOT zeta. Neither the Sigma NOR the CTS have been around a full decade
The Zeta platform (from 2005!) is what the new Camaro and G8 were designed on
The CTS-V has the Naturally Aspired 7.0, Corvette ZR1 has the supercharged
Their main thrust was Circa 2005, with the CTS appearing circa 2002.
You clearly don't know Cadillac that well either.

Mullaly is the poster child for good management now but that was true for Porsche's Wiedeking in the 1990s but he got run out on a rail in the 2000s. I left almost immediately, but hey, they built it! Learn how to weld, wrench, paint, etc... and BUILD whatever you want. It's a scam, anyway. Ford is a good car company. However we are talking about Lincoln vs Cadillac and hands down Cadillac wins. Cadillac has been changing their cars over time while Lincoln hasn't. 2002 Escalade develops 345HP, 2009+ Escalade 407HP. 2002Navigator 300HP, 2009+Navigator 300HP.
Cadillac learned after they went bankrupt and recovered to know what customers want. Fuel economy, power, and looks.
Lincoln hasn't learn't that yet, its still making cars for old people. Lincoln would be dead without ford.

The S reffers to the "sports package" where essentially all the wood in the car is replaced with alluminium, you get burgundy/borwn colored seats, a different front facia, and those lil S badges all around the car...performance wise though the car doesn't really change though.

Ford people have hyped about Ecoboost, as they always do with their new, cheap, upgrades. It's not even an upgrade. It's basically a twin turbo on an existing cheap engine block, developed mainly by Mazda.
There's nothing to brag about Duratec V6 with turbo engine. Genesis comes with, all new, state of art, Tau V8 engine, that gets same MPG as the smaller Duratec V6 engine. Tau V8 engine is obviously much smoother and more powerful than Duratec V6 engine, too.

You're right. Genesis shouldn't be compared with MKS. Genesis is the only car receiving 23 awards just in 2009. MKS won nothing. Nada.
Genesis is driven by money-conscious, sensible, family-oriented people. Lincoln Continentals, predecessors of MKS, and Navigators have always been the de facto vehicles for pimps and drug dealers.
So, once again, you're absolutely correct. You should never compare the two cars, because you know they are rather different kind of transportations.

I just test drove this MKS with ecoboost. It rides like a medium size version of Towncar. One problem, though: it costs more than Towncar. This MKS is basically a same old Lincoln with cheap engine and platform like Ford Taurus with more cheap chromes and leathers.
I highly doubt anyone would want this piece of crap for 57K, when there are cars with equal size and option for 42K, like Genesis.

Since when has an American icon, like Lincoln copied design cues from Japanese cars? But that's exactly what Lincoln did with this MKS model. I actually went to MSN Auto, and compared pictures of MKS, Lexus GS and Infiniti M. Lo and behold, their sillouhettes were almost identical from all sides. The only differences were the front grilles and and back bumpers.
We all know Lincoln never produced cars that looked like the new MKS. Why did they suddenly change their minds?

actually spiagia it was Ford Motor that started the aerodynamic trend in the 1980s with the Taurus. The japs copied Ford's Aero look like most manufacturers did. And the jap cos still need work on how to figure out dimensional tolerances in manufacturing. Something that American and European car companies have known about for 75+ years.

So it makes 20 less HP than the Genesis. The MKS is still making V8 power regardless how you look at it and getting just as good gas mileage or better than some V8's.
As far as the Genesis having a smoother V8, how would you know that? Have you driven both back to back?
