  • Great advice, Thanks!

  • @TheCreativeJournal Welcome :)

  • @jessdoublediz Thank you :D

  • well, What if I wanna make a good video with a low budget? I don't wanna buy those REAL expensive cameras, I don't have those green screen cloth, and I don't have those super softwares

  • @100jokes borrow a Vidcam or camera and use the video setting or buy a flip cam as I got one for 10th of the price of my Main HD cam, and they do HD, the cloth cost about £12/$19 at a fabric shop, lights and umbrella cost about £20/$31. Sony Vegas Movie studio is cheap about £30/47. You cam make some damn good videos for that price and thats cheap, hope that helps :)

    Nathan

  • Excellent advice, which most of the videos on you tube prove by adhering to none of it --sadly! but that music IS a bit irritating.

  • @kerryfoster1 thank you, yeah the music was a quicky, much better tracks on my other videos. :)

  • Excellent advice, which most of the videos on you tube prove by adhering to none of it --sadly!

  • Tjhanks for this video. I wish more people took the advice, it would make better videos on YouTube!

  • @clydesight You welcome, i hope to do a better one soon of this too.

  • Great positivity!

  • @cosmicordering1 Thank you

  • @superainar shot @ 5mbps. cam goes up to 17mbps (hf100)

  • is there difference if i used green or blue chroma key ? or they are the same ? :)

  • @realjuvelive Best to get the bright green, if you have blue eyes like me you might run into problems, and good lighting helps. :)

  • @realjuvelive green screen is better for digital cameras, blue screen more suitable for film stock.

  • Haha you guys say evolution Funny.

  • @s5sprite Glad you like :P

  • cool tips thanks, I'll do all of these from now on. I've always known that I haven't been looking straight into the lense, I look at the little window instead, I need to stop doing that :P

  • @AStickManProductions hehe, hope to see some great new videos then :)

    Nathan

  • You forgot one other important one don't where white it screws with your white balance

  • @dethtorrent Ill be making another video for the newer things Ive learnt thanks

  • Sony Vegas Pro 8

  • Ok So you use Sony Vegas. Is it 7,8,9 is it pro? For video setings what do you put? This really is helping me out.

  • Pro 8. What other settings you want to know?

Good thing im a cameraguy and not the one making all the stuff xD

Im just the point and shoot XD

Ooh wellm, you do have the tips that people will like to use i think, good jop ;)

Mar sure the next time, that you hold the camera a bit more away, give your arms + torso more in the pict ;)

  • Thanks dude, will take note :)

  • np dude ;)

thats what we are here for hee, to help one and ather

  • I couldn't agree more :) thanks

  • In the end you forgot to click "lock to stretch" on the audio properties when you slow a clip down. If you don''t do that the slowed down audio sounds really bad like in the errrmmmm. If you lock to stretch it doesn't sound computery and sounds deeper like real slow mo.

I'm guessing your using Sony Vegas.

  • Nah, its was purposefully done this way. The Erm is one of my problems infront of the camera. And yes i use Sony Vegas. I'm mainly a music producer. :)

  • @paradigma Okay I just see a lot of people that don'tt know to lock to stretch and it makes slow mo sound really bad.

  • Awesome vid, very useful!

  • Thanks very much.

  • Well done! Great to see you sharing what you are learning as you go.

  • Thanks girl :) Hope to share more.

  • Some useful tips !! :)

  • This is a very awesome helpful video for new youtubers! I'm afraid I'll never have a better camera than the one I have, but hopefully I'll be abe to make some decent videos eventually..

  • Well what you've seen already of that face painting video, you ready got a pretty good video :)

  • I am sorry to bother you.

but there is one thing that I didn't understood.

What do you mean with " Post Production" ??

I couldn't get the meaning behind it.

Could you please tell me what you mean by that ?

Still, this video was very well made. I liked it a lot and I wish you all the best in the future.

  • Adding colour filters, and such things as contrast and brightness and colour balance.

    Thanks very much.

    Nathan

  • The evolutionary approach works extremely well.

I would like to assume that this video is a precursor to some more in-depth tutorials on lighting techniques, post production etc.

I'm certain that your presentation methods would be excellent for this purpose.

All the best in whatever you do.

    Regards

    John

  • Thanks very much,

It was two ideas rolled into one. I did think of making more indepth tutorials on this subject. Though i will be mixing it in with the other videos i do, Relaxing, dance, collabrations and spirit guided videos.

    (Sorry for my bad explenations)

  • oh fabric shop, best get the green.

  • @paradigma

yea green seems better but i like green and i wear green often so i dont think it will work =P

Also... do u have any tips to people who want to vlog? Becouse im a bit shy ;/

  • hehe, thanks for spoting that :)

  • There could be more volume still.

  • Well spotted, yeah i didn't put the limiter on for this video doh, i get some say its too loud :S. I'll keep to my usual levels next time. Cheers

  • Those are some great tips, great tips indeed.

The most common problem I run into though, is that the things I want to say, usually don't come out as smooth as I'd like them to.. And usually I feel silly talking to merely a camera as well, resulting in an awkward video that doesn't flow.

I guess some are just not fit for the job. Ah well, I like your video's regardless. And I'm sure I can harness your tips elsewhere just as good. ;3

  • Thankyou,

Lol, welcome to the problem i have everytime. I'm working on it and pushing everytime and to get more use to the camera, i'm still not were i'd like to be.

  • I see. Well, perhaps I shouldn't give up so soon either then. ;3

  • yes, been there done that, not recommended

  • Thanks dude, i am always looking at the viewfinder :P i keep telling myself LOOK AT THE LENS... THE CREEPY NON -BLINKING LENS :P

  • lol, yeah i know, not easy i turn it away.

  • good video Nathan. this is really helpfull. unfortunatelly, my cam won't support an external mic, so i'll have to use the inbuilt one. also, i sometimes hate putting the cam into my face, but that's something i might have to get used to. 5 stars for you!!

  • Thanks dude, yeah you could record from the laptop with a mic.

  • The Problem there, is syncing XD

  • that's true. i just thought that you had a camera with which you could also connect a mic directly to it. anyway, really thanks for the tips. will try to get some done soon :-)

  • @wildcatphotography yeah what i got has a mic input but its costly. £600

  • thank you :), really cool, do you also use Sony Vegas Pro ? :D..

    anyway, cool vid (yy) :)

  • Thanks and yep :) best of the bunch

  • Very cool!

  • Thanks :)
